1 Now Naaman, chief of the army of the king of Aram, was a man of high position with his master, and greatly respected, because by him the Lord had given salvation to Aram; but he was a leper.
1 Naaman, chef de l'armée du roi de Syrie, jouissait de la faveur de son maître et d'une grande considération; car c'était par lui que l'Éternel avait délivré les Syriens. Mais cet homme fort et vaillant était lépreux.

1 Naaman, general del ejército del rey de Siria, era gran varón delante de su señor, y en alta estima, porque por medio de él había dado Jehová salvamento á la Siria. Era este hombre valeroso en extremo, pero leproso.
1 Naeman, der Feldhauptmann des Königs von Syrien, war ein trefflicher Mann vor seinem Herrn und hoch gehalten; denn durch ihn gab der HERR Heil in Syrien. Und er war ein gewaltiger Mann, und aussätzig.
2 Now the Aramaeans had gone out in bands, and taken prisoner from Israel a little girl, who became servant to Naaman's wife.
2 Or les Syriens étaient sortis par troupes, et ils avaient emmené captive une petite fille du pays d'Israël, qui était au service de la femme de Naaman.

2 Die Kriegsleute aber in Syrien waren herausgefallen und hatten eine junge Dirne weggeführt aus dem Lande Israel; die war im Dienst des Weibes Naemans.
3 And she said to her master's wife, If only my lord would go to the prophet in Samaria, he would make him well.
3 Et elle dit à sa maîtresse: Oh! si mon seigneur était auprès du prophète qui est à Samarie, le prophète le guérirait de sa lèpre!

3 Dijo á su señora: Si rogase mi señor al profeta que está en Samaria, él lo sanaría de su lepra.
3 Die sprach zu ihrer Frau: Ach, daß mein Herr wäre bei dem Propheten zu Samaria! der würde ihn von seinem Aussatz losmachen.
4 And someone went and said to his lord, This is what the girl from the land of Israel says.
4 Naaman alla dire à son maître: La jeune fille du pays d'Israël a parlé de telle et telle manière.
4 Ansin chuaigh Námán chun a thiarna, agus dúirt leis: “Dúirt an cailín ó thír Iosrael a leithéid seo agus a leithéid siúd.”
4 Y entrando Naamán á su señor, declaróselo, diciendo: Así y así ha dicho una muchacha que es de la tierra de Israel.
4 Da ging er hinein zu seinem Herrn und sagte es ihm an und sprach: So und so hat die Dirne aus dem Lande Israel geredet.
5 So the king of Aram said, Go then; and I will send a letter to the king of Israel. And he went, taking with him ten talents of silver and six thousand shekels of gold, and ten changes of clothing.
5 Et le roi de Syrie dit: Va, rends-toi à Samarie, et j'enverrai une lettre au roi d'Israël. Il partit, prenant avec lui dix talents d'argent, six mille sicles d'or, et dix vêtements de rechange.
5 Dúirt rí Arám leis: “Imigh leat agus cuirfidh mise litir chuig rí Iosrael.” D'imigh sé agus thug sé leis deich dtallann airgid agus sé mhíle seicil óir agus deich n‑éide aonaigh.
5 Y díjole el rey de Siria: Anda, ve, y yo enviaré letras al rey de Israel. Partió pues él, llevando consigo diez talentos de plata, y seis mil piezas de oro, y diez mudas de vestidos.
5 Der König von Syrien sprach: So zieh hin, ich will dem König Israels einen Brief schreiben. Und er zog hin und nahm mit sich zehn Zentner Silber und sechstausend Goldgulden und zehn Feierkleider
6 And he took the letter to the king of Israel, in which the king of Aram had said, See, I have sent my servant Naaman to you to be made well, for he is a leper.
6 Il porta au roi d'Israël la lettre, où il était dit: Maintenant, quand cette lettre te sera parvenue, tu sauras que je t'envoie Naaman, mon serviteur, afin que tu le guérisses de sa lèpre.
6 Thug sé an litir chun rí Iosrael. Dúradh inti: “Nuair a gheobhaidh tú an litir seo, bíodh a fhios agat gur chuir mé Námán, mo shearbhónta, ag triall ort, chun go leigheasfá ón lobhra é.”
6 Tomó también letras para el rey de Israel, que decían así: Luego en llegando á ti estas letras, sabe por ellas que yo envío á ti mi siervo Naamán, para que lo sanes de su lepra.
6 und brachte den Brief dem König Israels, der lautete also: Wenn dieser Brief zu dir kommt, siehe, so wisse, ich habe meinen Knecht Naeman zu dir gesandt, daß du ihn von seinem Aussatz losmachst.
7 But the king of Israel, after reading the letter, was greatly troubled and said, Am I God, to give death and life? why does this man send a leper to me to be made well? is it not clear that he is looking for a cause of war?
7 Après avoir lu la lettre, le roi d'Israël déchira ses vêtements, et dit: Suis-je un dieu, pour faire mourir et pour faire vivre, qu'il s'adresse à moi afin que je guérisse un homme de sa lèpre? Sachez donc et comprenez qu'il cherche une occasion de dispute avec moi.
7 Nuair a léigh rí Iosrael an litir, stróic sé a chuid éadaigh agus dúirt: “An dia mise, údar báis agus beatha, agus a rá gur iarr an fear seo orm duine a leigheas óna lobhra? Éist leis seo agus tabhair é faoi deara agus feicfidh tú gur ag iarraidh achrann a adhaint liom atá sé.”
7 Y luego que el rey de Israel leyó las cartas, rasgó sus vestidos, y dijo: ¿Soy yo Dios, que mate y dé vida, para que éste envíe á mí á que sane un hombre de su lepra? Considerad ahora, y ved cómo busca ocasión contra mí.
7 Und da der König Israels den Brief las, zerriß er seine Kleider und sprach: Bin ich denn Gott, daß ich töten und lebendig machen könnte, daß er zu mir schickt, daß ich den Mann von seinem Aussatz losmache? Merkt und seht, wie sucht er Ursache wider mich!
8 Now Elisha, the man of God, hearing that the king of Israel had done this, sent to the king, saying, Why are you troubled? send the man to me, so that he may see that there is a prophet in Israel.
8 Lorsqu'Élisée, homme de Dieu, apprit que le roi d'Israël avait déchiré ses vêtements, il envoya dire au roi: Pourquoi as-tu déchiré tes vêtements? Laisse-le venir à moi, et il saura qu'il y a un prophète en Israël.
8 Ar a chloisteáil d'Eilíseá, giolla Dé, gur stróic rí Iosrael a chuid éadaigh, chuir sé scéala chun an rí: “Cad chuige ar stróic tú do chuid éadaigh? Lig dó teacht chugamsa, agus gheobhaidh sé amach go bhfuil fáidh in Iosrael.”
8 Y como Eliseo, varón de Dios oyó que el rey de Israel había rasgado sus vestidos, envió á decir al rey: ¿Por qué has rasgado tus vestidos? Venga ahora á mí, y sabrá que hay profeta en Israel.
8 Da das Elisa, der Mann Gottes, hörte, daß der König seine Kleider zerrissen hatte, sandte er zu ihm und ließ ihm sagen: Warum hast du deine Kleider zerrissen? Laß ihn zu mir kommen, daß er innewerde, daß ein Prophet in Israel ist.
9 So Naaman, with all his horses and his carriages, came to the door of Elisha's house.
9 Naaman vint avec ses chevaux et son char, et il s'arrêta à la porte de la maison d'Élisée.

9 Y vino Naamán con sus caballos y con su carro, y paróse á las puertas de la casa de Eliseo.
9 Also kam Naeman mit Rossen und Wagen und hielt vor der Tür am Hause Elisas.
10 And Elisha sent a servant to him, saying, Go to Jordan, and after washing seven times in its waters your flesh will be well again and you will be clean.
10 Élisée lui fit dire par un messager: Va, et lave-toi sept fois dans le Jourdain; ta chair deviendra saine, et tu seras pur.
10 Chuir Eilíseá teachtaire chuige á rá: “Imigh leat agus nigh thú féin seacht n‑uaire sa Iordáin; agus cneasóidh do chorp agus beidh tú glan athuair.”
10 Entonces Eliseo le envió un mensajero, diciendo: Ve, y lávate siete veces en el Jordán, y tu carne se te restaurará, y serás limpio.
10 Da sandte Elisa einen Boten zu ihm und ließ ihm sagen: Gehe hin und wasche dich siebenmal im Jordan, so wird dir dein Fleisch wieder erstattet und rein werden.
11 But Naaman was angry and went away and said, I had the idea that he would come out to see such an important person as I am, and make prayer to the Lord his God, and with a wave of his hand over the place make the leper well.
11 Naaman fut irrité, et il s'en alla, en disant: Voici, je me disais: Il sortira vers moi, il se présentera lui-même, il invoquera le nom de l'Éternel, son Dieu, il agitera sa main sur la place et guérira le lépreux.
11 Tháinig fearg ar Námán agus d'imigh sé leis á rá: “Shíl mé go dtiocfadh sé amach chugam, go ndéanfadh sin, agus go seasfadh sé amuigh ag glaoch ar ainm an Tiarna a Dhia, agus a lámh a shíneadh os cionn an bhaill agus an lobhar a leigheas.
11 Y Naamán se fué enojado, diciendo: He aquí yo decía para mí: Saldrá él luego, y estando en pie invocará el nombre de Jehová su Dios, y alzará su mano, y tocará el lugar, y sanará la lepra.
11 Da erzürnte Naeman und zog weg und sprach: Ich meinte, er sollte zu mir herauskommen und hertreten und den Namen der HERRN, seines Gottes, anrufen und mit seiner Hand über die Stätte fahren und den Aussatz also abtun.
12 Are not Abana and Pharpar, rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? may I not be washed in them and become clean? So turning, he went away in wrath.
12 Les fleuves de Damas, l'Abana et le Parpar, ne valent-ils pas mieux que toutes les eaux d'Israël? Ne pourrais-je pas m'y laver et devenir pur? Et il s'en retournait et partait avec fureur.
12 Nach fearr iad an Abáná agus an Farpar, aibhneacha na Damaisce, ná a bhfuil d'uiscí in Iosrael chun go nífinn mé féin iontu agus go nglanfaí mé.” Dá bhrí sin thiontaigh sé agus d'imigh agus é ar buile.
12 Abana y Pharphar, ríos de Damasco, ¿no son mejores que todas las aguas de Israel? Si me lavare en ellos, ¿no seré también limpio? Y volvióse, y fuése enojado.
12 Sind nicht die Wasser Amana und Pharphar zu Damaskus besser denn alle Wasser in Israel, daß ich mich darin wüsche und rein würde? Und wandte sich und zog weg mit Zorn.
13 Then his servants came to him and said, If the prophet had given you orders to do some great thing, would you not have done it? how much more then, when he says to you, Be washed and become clean?
13 Mais ses serviteurs s'approchèrent pour lui parler, et ils dirent: Mon père, si le prophète t'eût demandé quelque chose de difficile, ne l'aurais-tu pas fait? Combien plus dois-tu faire ce qu'il t'a dit: Lave-toi, et tu seras pur!
13 Tháinig a shearbhónta chuige agus dúirt leis: “A athair, dá n‑iarrfadh an fáidh ort rud éigin deacair a dhéanamh, is cinnte go ndéanfá é. Nach móide is ceart duit a bhfuil ráite aige leat anois a dhéanamh: ‘Nigh thú féin agus beidh tú glan’?”
13 Mas sus criados se llegaron á él, y habláronle, diciendo: Padre mío, si el profeta te mandara alguna gran cosa, ¿no la hicieras? ¿cuánto más, diciéndote: Lávate, y serás limpio?
13 Da machten sich seine Knechte zu ihm, redeten mit ihm und sprachen: Lieber Vater, wenn dich der Prophet etwas Großes hätte geheißen, solltest du es nicht tun? Wie viel mehr, so er zu dir sagt: Wasche dich, so wirst du rein!
14 Then he went down seven times into the waters of Jordan, as the man of God had said; and his flesh became like the flesh of a little child again, and he was clean.
14 Il descendit alors et se plongea sept fois dans le Jourdain, selon la parole de l'homme de Dieu; et sa chair redevint comme la chair d'un jeune enfant, et il fut pur.
14 Ansin chuaigh sé síos agus thum é féin seacht n‑uaire sa Iordáin de réir chomhairle ghiolla Dé. Agus leigheasadh a chneas mar a bheadh cneas naíonáin ann agus bhí sé glan.
14 El entonces descendió, y zambullóse siete veces en el Jordán, conforme á la palabra del varón de Dios: y su carne se volvió como la carne de un niño, y fué limpio.
14 Da stieg er ab und taufte sich im Jordan siebenmal, wie der Mann Gottes geredet hatte; und sein Fleisch ward wieder erstattet wie das Fleisch eines jungen Knaben, und er ward rein.
15 Then he went back to the man of God, with all his train, and, taking his place before him, said, Now I am certain that there is no God in all the earth, but only in Israel: now then, take an offering from me.
15 Naaman retourna vers l'homme de Dieu, avec toute sa suite. Lorsqu'il fut arrivé, il se présenta devant lui, et dit: Voici, je reconnais qu'il n'y a point de Dieu sur toute la terre, si ce n'est en Israël. Et maintenant, accepte, je te prie, un présent de la part de ton serviteur.
15 Ansin d'fhill sé ar an ngiolla Dé, é féin agus a chuideachta, agus sheas sé os a chomhair. “Anois a aithním,” ar seisean, “nach bhfuil Dia ar bith sa domhan ar fad ach amháin in Iosrael. Anois dá bhrí sin tóg bronntanas ó do shearbhónta, le do thoil.”
15 Y volvió al varón de Dios, él y toda su compañía, y púsose delante de él, y dijo: He aquí ahora conozco que no hay Dios en toda la tierra, sino en Israel. Ruégote que recibas algún presente de tu siervo.
15 Und er kehrte wieder zu dem Mann Gottes samt seinem ganzen Heer. Und da er hineinkam, trat er vor ihn und sprach: Siehe, ich weiß, daß kein Gott ist in allen Landen, außer in Israel; so nimm nun den Segen von deinem Knecht.
16 But he said, By the life of the Lord whose servant I am, I will take nothing from you. And he did his best to make him take it but he would not.
16 Élisée répondit: L'Éternel, dont je suis le serviteur, est vivant! je n'accepterai pas. Naaman le pressa d'accepter, mais il refusa.
16 Ach d'fhreagair seisean: “Dar an Tiarna beo dá ndéanaim seirbhís, ní thógfaidh mé aon ní.” Agus bhí Námán ag tathant air ach ní dhéanfadh.
16 Mas él dijo: Vive Jehová, delante del cual estoy, que no lo tomaré. E importunándole que tomase, él nunca quiso.
16 Er aber sprach: So wahr der HERR lebt, vor dem ich stehe, ich nehme es nicht. Und er nötigte ihn, daß er's nähme; aber er wollte nicht.
17 Then Naaman said, If you will not, then let there be given to your servant as much earth as two beasts are able to take on their backs; because from now on, your servant will make no offering or burned offering to other gods, but only to the Lord.
17 Alors Naaman dit: Puisque tu refuses, permets que l'on donne de la terre à ton serviteur, une charge de deux mulets; car ton serviteur ne veut plus offrir à d'autres dieux ni holocauste ni sacrifice, il n'en offrira qu'à l'Éternel.
17 Ansin dúirt Námán: “Ós rud é nach dtógfaidh tú, tugtar, le do thoil, ualach dhá mhiúil de chré do do shearbhónta; mar as seo amach ní ofrálfaidh do shearbhónta íobairt dhóite ná eile d'aon dia ach don Tiarna.
17 Entonces Naamán dijo: Ruégote pues, ¿no se dará á tu siervo una carga de un par de acémilas de aquesta tierra? porque de aquí adelante tu siervo no sacrificará holocausto ni sacrificio á otros dioses, sino á Jehová.
17 Da sprach Naeman: Möchte deinem Knecht nicht gegeben werden dieser Erde Last, soviel zwei Maultiere tragen? Denn dein Knecht will nicht mehr andern Göttern opfern und Brandopfer tun, sondern dem HERRN.
18 But may your servant have the Lord's forgiveness for this one thing: when my master goes into the house of Rimmon for worship there, supported on my arm, and my head is bent in the house of Rimmon; when his head is bent in the house of Rimmon, may your servant have the Lord's forgiveness for this thing.
18 Voici toutefois ce que je prie l'Éternel de pardonner à ton serviteur. Quand mon maître entre dans la maison de Rimmon pour s'y prosterner et qu'il s'appuie sur ma main, je me prosterne aussi dans la maison de Rimmon: veuille l'Éternel pardonner à ton serviteur, lorsque je me prosternerai dans la maison de Rimmon!
18 Ach aon ní amháin - agus go maithe an Tiarna do do shearbhónta é - nuair a théann mo mháistir go teampall Rimeon le hadhradh a dhéanamh ann, luíonn sé ar mo ghéag agus cromaim síos i dteampall Rimeon [nuair a dhéanann seisean]. Go maithe an Tiarna an beart seo do shearbhónta.”
18 En esto perdone Jehová á tu siervo: que cuando mi señor entrare en el templo de Rimmón, y para adorar en él se apoyare sobre mi mano, si yo también me inclinare en el templo de Rimmón, si en el templo de Rimmón me inclino, Jehová perdone en esto á tu siervo.
18 Nur darin wolle der HERR deinem Knecht gnädig sein: wo ich anbete im Hause Rimmons, wenn mein Herr ins Haus Rimmons geht, daselbst anzubeten, und er sich an meine Hand lehnt.
19 And he said to him, Go in peace. And he went from him some distance.
19 Élisée lui dit: Va en paix. Lorsque Naaman eut quitté Élisée et qu'il fut à une certaine distance,
19 D'fhreagair sé: “Imigh faoi shíocháin!” Ach nuair a bhí Námán imithe tamall beag,
19 Y él le dijo: Vete en paz. Partióse pues de él, y caminó como el espacio de una milla.
19 Er sprach zu ihm: Zieh hin mit Frieden! Und als er von ihm weggezogen war ein Feld Wegs auf dem Lande,
20 But Gehazi, the servant of Elisha, the man of God, said, Now my master has taken nothing from Naaman, this Aramaean, of what he would have given him: by the living Lord, I will go after him and get something from him.
20 Guéhazi, serviteur d'Élisée, homme de Dieu, se dit en lui-même: Voici, mon maître a ménagé Naaman, ce Syrien, en n'acceptant pas de sa main ce qu'il avait apporté; l'Éternel est vivant! je vais courir après lui, et j'en obtiendrai quelque chose.

20 Entonces Giezi, criado de Eliseo el varón de Dios, dijo entre sí: He aquí mi señor estorbó á este Siro Naamán, no tomando de su mano las cosas que había traído. Vive Jehová, que correré yo tras él, y tomaré de él alguna cosa.
20 gedachte Gehasi, der Diener Elisas, des Mannes Gottes: Siehe, mein Herr hat diesen Syrer Naeman verschont, daß er nichts von ihm hat genommen, das er gebracht hat. So wahr der HERR lebt, ich will ihm nachlaufen und etwas von ihm nehmen.
21 So Gehazi went after Naaman. And when Naaman saw him running after him, he got down from his carriage and went back to him and said, Is all well?
21 Et Guéhazi courut après Naaman. Naaman, le voyant courir après lui, descendit de son char pour aller à sa rencontre, et dit: Tout va-t-il bien?
21 D'imigh Géichizí i ndiaidh Námán. Nuair a chonaic Námán é ag rith ina dhiaidh, phreab sé as a charbad le bualadh leis, agus dúirt: “An bhfuil gach ní ina cheart?”
21 Y siguió Giezi á Naamán: y como le vió Naamán que venía corriendo tras él, apeóse del carro para recibirle, y dijo: ¿Va bien?
21 Also jagte Gehasi dem Naeman nach. Und da Naeman sah, daß er ihm nachlief, stieg er vom Wagen ihm entgegen und sprach: Steht es wohl?
22 And he said, All is well: but my master has sent me, saying, Even now, two young men of the sons of the prophets have come to me from the hill-country of Ephraim; will you give me a talent of silver and two changes of clothing for them?
22 Il répondit: Tout va bien. Mon maître m'envoie te dire: Voici, il vient d'arriver chez moi deux jeunes gens de la montagne d'Éphraïm, d'entre les fils des prophètes; donne pour eux, je te prie, un talent d'argent et deux vêtements de rechange.
22 Agus d'fhreagair seisean: “Tá gach ní ina cheart. Chuir mo mháistir chugat mé lena rá: ‘Tháinig beirt ógánach de bhráithreachas na bhfáithe chugam anois díreach ó ardáin Eafráim; tabhair dóibh tallann airgid, le do thoil [agus dhá éide aonaigh].’ ”
22 Y él dijo: Bien. Mi señor me envía á decir: He aquí vinieron á mí en esta hora del monte de Ephraim dos mancebos de los hijos de los profetas: ruégote que les des un talento de plata, y sendas mudas de vestidos.
22 Er sprach: Ja. Aber mein Herr hat mich gesandt und läßt dir sagen: Siehe, jetzt sind zu mir gekommen vom Gebirge Ephraim zwei Jünglinge aus der Propheten Kinder; gib ihnen einen Zentner Silber und zwei Feierkleider!
23 And Naaman said, Be good enough to take two talents. And forcing him to take them, he put two talents of silver in two bags, with two changes of clothing, and gave them to his two servants to take before him.
23 Naaman dit: Consens à prendre deux talents. Il le pressa, et il serra deux talents d'argent dans deux sacs, donna deux habits de rechange, et les fit porter devant Guéhazi par deux de ses serviteurs.
23 “Tóg dhá thallann, le do thoil [agus dhá éide aonaigh],” a d'fhreagair Námán, agus bhí á dtathant air, agus cheangail sé dhá thallann airgid i dhá mhála [le dhá éide aonaigh] agus leag iad ar bheirt dá shearbhóntaí a d'iompair iad roimh Géichizí.
23 Y Naamán dijo: Ruégote que tomes dos talentos. Y él le constriñó, y ató dos talentos de plata en dos sacos, y dos mudas de vestidos, y púsolo á cuestas á dos de sus criados, que lo llevasen delante de él.
23 Naeman sprach: Nimm lieber zwei Zentner! Und nötigte ihn und band zwei Zentner Silber in zwei Beutel und zwei Feierkleider und gab's zweien seiner Diener; die trugen's vor ihm her.
24 When he came to the hill, he took them from their hands, and put them away in the house; and he sent the men away, and they went.
24 Arrivé à la colline, Guéhazi les prit de leurs mains et les déposa dans la maison, et il renvoya ces gens qui partirent.

24 Y llegado que hubo á un lugar secreto, él lo tomó de mano de ellos, y guardólo en casa: luego mandó á los hombres que se fuesen.

25 Then he came in and took his place before his master. And Elisha said to him, Where have you come from, Gehazi? And he said, Your servant went nowhere.
25 Puis il alla se présenter à son maître. Élisée lui dit: D'où viens-tu, Guéhazi? Il répondit: Ton serviteur n'est allé ni d'un côté ni d'un autre.
