1 Now the sons of the prophets said to Elisha, There is not room enough for us in the place where we are living under your care;

1 Die Kinder der Propheten sprachen zu Elisa: Siehe, der Raum, da wir vor dir wohnen, ist uns zu enge.
2 So let us go to Jordan, and let everyone get to work cutting boards, and we will make a living-place for ourselves there. And he said to them, Go, then.
2 Allons jusqu'au Jourdain; nous prendrons là chacun une poutre, et nous nous y ferons un lieu d'habitation. Élisée répondit: Allez.
2 Téimis chun na Iordáine, agus gearradh gach duine againn sail ann agus déanaimis áit chónaithe dúinn féin ann.” D'fhreagair sé: “Téigí!”
2 Vamos ahora al Jordán, y tomemos de allí cada uno una viga, y hagámonos allí lugar en que habitemos. Y él dijo: Andad.
2 Laß uns an den Jordan gehen und einen jeglichen daselbst Holz holen, daß wir uns daselbst eine Stätte bauen, da wir wohnen. Er sprach: Gehet hin!
3 And one of them said, Be pleased to go with your servants. And he said, I will go.
3 Et l'un d'eux dit: Consens à venir avec tes serviteurs. Il répondit: J'irai.
3 Ansin dúirt duine díobh: “Ar mhiste leat dul le do shearbhóntaí?” “Rachaidh mé,” ar sé,
3 Y dijo uno: Rogámoste que quieras venir con tus siervos. Y él respondió: Yo iré.
3 Und einer sprach: Gehe lieber mit deinen Knechten! Er sprach: Ich will mitgehen.
4 So he went with them. And when they came to Jordan, they got to work cutting down trees.
4 Il partit donc avec eux. Arrivés au Jourdain, ils coupèrent du bois.

4 Fuése pues con ellos; y como llegaron al Jordán, cortaron la madera.
4 Und er kam mit ihnen. Und da sie an den Jordan kamen hieben sie Holz ab.
5 But one of them, while cutting a board, let the head of his axe go into the water; and he gave a cry, and said, This is a bad business, my master, for it is another's.
5 Et comme l'un d'eux abattait une poutre, le fer tomba dans l'eau. Il s'écria: Ah! mon seigneur, il était emprunté!
5 ach ag gearradh saile do dhuine díobh, thit ceann iarainn a thua isteach san uisce. “Mo léan, a mháistir,” ar sé, “agus ba ar iasacht leis a bhí sé!”
5 Y aconteció que derribando uno un árbol, cayósele el hacha en el agua; y dió voces, diciendo: ¡Ah, señor mío, que era emprestada!
5 Und da einer sein Holz fällte, fiel das Eisen ins Wasser. Und er schrie und sprach: O weh, mein Herr! dazu ist's entlehnt.
6 And the man of God said, Where did it go in? and when he saw the place where it had gone into the water, cutting a stick, he put it into the water, and the iron came up to the top of the water.
6 L'homme de Dieu dit: Où est-il tombé? Et il lui montra la place. Alors Élisée coupa un morceau de bois, le jeta à la même place, et fit surnager le fer.
6 “Cár thit sé?” d'fhiafraigh an giolla Dé de, agus thaispeáin sé an áit dó. Ansin ghearr sé slapar agus chaith isteach ansiúd é agus chuir an t‑iarrann ar snámh.
6 Y el varón de Dios dijo: ¿Dónde cayó? Y él le mostró el lugar. Entonces cortó él un palo, y echólo allí; é hizo nadar el hierro.
6 Aber der Mann Gottes sprach: Wo ist's entfallen? Und da er ihm den Ort zeigte, schnitt er ein Holz ab und stieß es dahin. Da schwamm das Eisen.
7 Then he said, Take it up. So he put out his hand and took it.
7 Puis il dit: Enlève-le! Et il avança la main, et le prit.
7 “Tóg amach é,” ar sé, agus shín an fear a lámh agus thóg é. Cogaí: Gabhann Eilíseá Díorma
7 Y dijo: Tómalo. Y él tendió la mano, y tomólo.
7 Und er sprach: Heb's auf! da reckte er seine Hand aus und nahm's.
8 At that time the king of Aram was making war against Israel; and he had a meeting with the chiefs of his army and said, I will be waiting in secret in some named place.
8 Le roi de Syrie était en guerre avec Israël, et, dans un conseil qu'il tint avec ses serviteurs, il dit: Mon camp sera dans un tel lieu.
8 Bhí rí Arám i gcogadh le hIosrael. Chuaigh sé i gcomhairle lena oifigigh agus dúirt: “Déanaigí [ionsaí] ina leithéid seo d'áit.”
8 Tenía el rey de Siria guerra contra Israel, y consultando con sus siervos, dijo: En tal y tal lugar estará mi campamento.
8 Und der König von Syrien führte einen Krieg wider Israel und beratschlagte sich mit seinen Knechten und sprach: Wir wollen uns lagern da und da.
9 And the man of God sent to the king of Israel, saying, Take care to keep away from that place, for the Aramaeans are waiting there in secret.
9 Mais l'homme de Dieu fit dire au roi d'Israël: Garde-toi de passer dans ce lieu, car les Syriens y descendent.
9 Ach chuir giolla Dé scéala go rí Iosrael: “Seachain agus ná téigh thar an áit sin, mar tá na hArámaigh chun [ionsaí] a dhéanamh ann.”
9 Y el varón de Dios envió á decir al rey de Israel: Mira que no pases por tal lugar, porque los Siros van allí.
9 Aber der Mann Gottes sandte zum König Israels und ließ ihm sagen: Hüte dich, daß du nicht an dem Ort vorüberziehst; denn die Syrer ruhen daselbst.
10 So the king of Israel sent to the place where the man of God had said there was danger, and kept clear of it more than once.
10 Et le roi d'Israël envoya des gens, pour s'y tenir en observation, vers le lieu que lui avait mentionné et signalé l'homme de Dieu. Cela arriva non pas une fois ni deux fois.
10 Chuir rí Iosrael dá réir sin díorma fear chun na háite a luaigh giolla Dé. Agus bhíodh sé ag tabhairt rabhaidh do rí Iosrael ar an gcuma sin agus bhíodh seisean san airdeall, agus tharla sin breis agus uair nó dhó.
10 Entonces el rey de Israel envió á aquel lugar que el varón de Dios había dicho y amonestádole; y guardóse de allí, no una vez ni dos.
10 So sandte denn der König Israels hin an den Ort, den ihm der Mann Gottes gesagt und vor dem er ihn gewarnt hatte, und war daselbst auf der Hut; und tat das nicht einmal oder zweimal allein.
11 And at this, the mind of the king of Aram was greatly troubled, and he sent for his servants and said to them, Will you not make clear to me which of us is helping the king of Israel?
11 Le roi de Syrie en eut le coeur agité; il appela ses serviteurs, et leur dit: Ne voulez-vous pas me déclarer lequel de nous est pour le roi d'Israël?
11 Bhí seo ag cur an-bhuaireamh aigne ar rí Arám, agus ghlaoigh sé ar a fheidhmeannaigh agus dúirt: “Inis dom cé acu againn atá dár [mbrath] le rí Iosrael.”
11 Y el corazón del rey de Siria fué turbado de esto; y llamando á sus siervos, díjoles: ¿No me declararéis vosotros quién de los nuestros es del rey de Israel?
11 Da ward das Herz des Königs von Syrien voll Unmuts darüber, und er rief seine Knechte und sprach zu ihnen: Wollt ihr mir denn nicht ansagen: Wer von den Unsern hält es mit dem König Israels?
12 And one of them said, Not one of us, my lord king; but Elisha, the prophet in Israel, gives the king of Israel news of the words you say even in your bedroom.
12 L'un de ses serviteurs répondit: Personne! ô roi mon seigneur; mais Élisée, le prophète, qui est en Israël, rapporte au roi d'Israël les paroles que tu prononces dans ta chambre à coucher.
12 “Níl aon duine againn, a thiarna mo rí,” arsa duine dá fheidhmeannaigh, “ach is é Eilíseá, an fáidh in Iosrael, a fhoilsíonn do rí Iosrael gach a ndeir tú i do sheomra codlata.”
12 Entonces uno de los siervos dijo: No, rey, señor mío; sino que el profeta Eliseo está en Israel, el cual declara al rey de Israel las palabras que tú hablas en tu más secreta cámara.
12 Da sprach seiner Knechte einer: Nicht also, mein Herr König; sondern Elisa, der Prophet in Israel, sagt alles dem König Israels, was du in der Kammer redest, da dein Lager ist.
13 Then he said, Go and see where he is, so that I may send and get him. And news came to him that he was in Dothan.
13 Et le roi dit: Allez et voyez où il est, et je le ferai prendre. On vint lui dire: Voici, il est à Dothan.
13 “Imígí agus faighigí amach cá bhfuil sé,” arsa an rí, “i dtreo go gcuirfinn lucht a ghafa ar a thóir.” Agus fuair sé scéala: “Tá sé anois i nDotán.”
13 Y él dijo: Id, y mirad dónde está, para que yo envíe á tomarlo. Y fuéle dicho: He aquí él está en Dothán.
13 Er sprach: So gehet hin und sehet, wo er ist, daß ich hinsende und lasse ihn holen. Und sie zeigten ihm an und sprachen: Siehe, er ist zu Dothan.
14 So he sent there horses and carriages and a great army; and they came by night, circling the town.
14 Il y envoya des chevaux, des chars et une forte troupe, qui arrivèrent de nuit et qui enveloppèrent la ville.
14 Chuir sé capaill agus carbaid agus slua mór ansiúd uaidh agus thángadar i gcoim na hoíche agus thimpeallaíodar an chathair.
14 Entonces envió el rey allá gente de á caballo, y carros, y un grande ejército, los cuales vinieron de noche, y cercaron la ciudad.
14 Da sandte er hin Rosse und Wagen und eine große Macht. Und da sie bei der Nacht hinkamen, umgaben sie die Stadt.
15 Now the servant of the man of God, having got up early and gone out, saw an army with horses and carriages of war all round the town. And the servant said to him, O my master, what are we to do?
15 Le serviteur de l'homme de Dieu se leva de bon matin et sortit; et voici, une troupe entourait la ville, avec des chevaux et des chars. Et le serviteur dit à l'homme de Dieu: Ah! mon seigneur, comment ferons-nous?
15 Lá arna mhárach rinne giolla Dé mochóirí agus amach leis. B'shiúd díorma saighdiúirí le capaill agus carbaid timpeall na cathrach. “Mo léan, a mháistir, cad tá le déanamh againn?” arsa a shearbhónta.
15 Y levantándose de mañana el que servía al varón de Dios, para salir, he aquí el ejército que tenía cercada la ciudad, con gente de á caballo y carros. Entonces su criado le dijo: ¡Ah, señor mío! ¿qué haremos?
15 Und der Diener des Mannes Gottes stand früh auf, daß er sich aufmachte und auszöge; und siehe, da lag eine Macht um die Stadt mit Rossen und Wagen. Da sprach sein Diener zu ihm: O weh, mein Herr! wie wollen wir nun tun?
16 And he said in answer, Have no fear; those who are with us are more than those who are with them.
16 Il répondit: Ne crains point, car ceux qui sont avec nous sont en plus grand nombre que ceux qui sont avec eux.
16 D'fhreagair sé: “Ná bíodh eagla ort! Óir is mó atá linne ná mar atá leosan.”
16 Y él le dijo: No hayas miedo: porque más son los que están con nosotros que los que están con ellos.
16 Er sprach: Fürchte dich nicht! denn derer ist mehr, die bei uns sind, als derer, die bei ihnen sind.
17 Then Elisha made a prayer to the Lord, saying, Lord, let his eyes be open so that he may see. And the Lord made the young man's eyes open; and he saw that all the mountain was full of horses and carriages of fire round Elisha.
17 Élisée pria, et dit: Éternel, ouvre ses yeux, pour qu'il voie. Et l'Éternel ouvrit les yeux du serviteur, qui vit la montagne pleine de chevaux et de chars de feu autour d'Élisée.
17 Ansin rinne Eilíseá urnaí: “A Thiarna,” ar sé, “oscail a shúile agus tabhair radharc dó, impím ort.” D'oscail an Tiarna súile a shearbhónta agus chonaic sé an sliabh, féach, agus é clúdaithe le capaill agus le carbaid tine timpeall ar Eilíseá.
17 Y oró Eliseo, y dijo: Ruégote, oh Jehová, que abras sus ojos para que vea. Entonces Jehová abrió los ojos del mozo, y miró: y he aquí que el monte estaba lleno de gente de á caballo, y de carros de fuego alrededor de Eliseo.
17 Und Elisa betete und sprach: HERR, öffne ihm die Augen, daß er sehe! Da öffnete der HERR dem Diener die Augen, daß er sah; und siehe, da war der Berg voll feuriger Rosse und Wagen um Elisa her.
18 Now when the Aramaeans came down to Elisha, he made a prayer to the Lord saying, Lord, make this people blind. And he made them blind at Elisha's request.
18 Les Syriens descendirent vers Élisée. Il adressa alors cette prière à l'Éternel: Daigne frapper d'aveuglement cette nation! Et l'Éternel les frappa d'aveuglement, selon la parole d'Élisée.
18 Nuair a bhí na hArámaigh ag druidim leis ghuigh Eilíseá chun an Tiarna: “Buail an dream seo, guím thú, le daille,” agus bhuail sé le daille iad de réir mar a d'impigh Eilíseá.
18 Y luego que los Siros descendieron á él, oró Eliseo á Jehová, y dijo: Ruégote que hieras á esta gente con ceguedad. E hiriólos con ceguedad, conforme al dicho de Eliseo.
18 Und da sie zu ihm hinabkamen, bat Elisa und sprach: HERR, schlage dies Volk mit Blindheit! Und er schlug sie mit Blindheit nach dem Wort Elisas.
19 And Elisha said to them, This is not the way, and this is not the town: come after me so that I may take you to the man you are searching for. And he took them to Samaria.
19 Élisée leur dit: Ce n'est pas ici le chemin, et ce n'est pas ici la ville; suivez-moi, et je vous conduirai vers l'homme que vous cherchez. Et il les conduisit à Samarie.
19 Ansin dúirt Eilíseá leo: Ní hé seo an bóthar, ná ní hí seo an chathair; lean mise agus treoróidh mé sibh chun an fhir atá sibh a lorg,” agus threoraigh sé chun na Samáire iad.
19 Después les dijo Eliseo: No es este el camino, ni es esta la ciudad; seguidme, que yo os guiaré al hombre que buscáis. Y guiólos á Samaria.
19 Und Elisa sprach zu Ihnen: Dies ist nicht der Weg noch die Stadt. Folget mir nach! ich will euch führen zu dem Mann, den ihr sucht. Und er führte sie gen Samaria.
20 And when they had come into Samaria, Elisha said, Lord, let the eyes of these men be open so that they may see. And the Lord made their eyes open, and they saw that they were in the middle of Samaria.
20 Lorsqu'ils furent entrés dans Samarie, Élisée dit: Éternel, ouvre les yeux de ces gens, pour qu'ils voient! Et l'Éternel ouvrit leurs yeux, et ils virent qu'ils étaient au milieu de Samarie.
20 Ach a rabhadar tagtha isteach sa tSamáir dúirt Eilíseá: “A Thiarna, oscail súile an dreama seo i dtreo go mbeidh radharc acu.” Agus d'oscail an Tiarna a súile agus bhí radharc acu, agus ba shiúd i lár na Samáire iad.
20 Y así que llegaron á Samaria, dijo Eliseo: Jehová, abre los ojos de éstos, para que vean. Y Jehová abrió sus ojos, y miraron, y halláronse en medio de Samaria.
20 Und da sie gen Samaria kamen, sprach Elisa: HERR, öffne diesen die Augen, daß sie sehen! Und der HERR öffnete ihnen die Augen, daß sie sahen; und siehe, da waren sie mitten in Samaria.
21 And the king of Israel, when he saw them, said to Elisha, My father, am I to put them to the sword?
21 Le roi d'Israël, en les voyant, dit à Élisée: Frapperai-je, frapperai-je, mon père?
21 Nuair a chonaic rí Iosrael iad, dúirt sé le hEilíseá: “An gcuirfidh mé chun báis iad, an gcuirfidh mé, a athair liom?”
21 Y cuando el rey de Israel los hubo visto, dijo á Eliseo: ¿Herirélos, padre mío?
21 Und der König Israels, da er sie sah, sprach er zu Elisa: Mein Vater, soll ich sie schlagen?
22 But he said in answer, You are not to put them to death; have you any right to put to death those whom you have not taken prisoner with your sword and your bow? put bread and water before them, so that they may have food and drink and go to their master.
22 Tu ne frapperas point, répondit Élisée; est-ce que tu frappes ceux que tu fais prisonniers avec ton épée et avec ton arc? Donne-leur du pain et de l'eau, afin qu'ils mangent et boivent; et qu'ils s'en aillent ensuite vers leur maître.
22 D'fhreagair sé: “Ná maraigh iad. An gcuirfeá chun báis an mhuintir [nár] ghabh tú le do chlaíomh agus le do bhogha? Tabhair arán agus uisce dóibh le go gcaithfidís bia agus deoch agus dul ar ais go dtí a máistir.”
22 Y él le respondió: No los hieras; ¿herirías tú á los que tomaste cautivos con tu espada y con tu arco? Pon delante de ellos pan y agua, para que coman y beban, y se vuelvan á sus señores.
22 Er sprach: Du sollst sie nicht schlagen. Schlägst du denn die, welche du mit deinem Schwert und Bogen gefangen hast? Setze ihnen Brot und Wasser vor, daß sie essen und trinken, und laß sie zu ihrem Herrn ziehen!
23 So he made ready a great feast for them, and when they had had food and drink, he sent them away and they went back to their master. And no more bands of Aramaeans came into the land of Israel.
23 Le roi d'Israël leur fit servir un grand repas, et ils mangèrent et burent; puis il les renvoya, et ils s'en allèrent vers leur maître. Et les troupes des Syriens ne revinrent plus sur le territoire d'Israël.
23 Chóirigh sé béile breá dóibh agus nuair a bhí bia agus deoch caite acu scaoil sé chun siúil iad agus chuadar ar ais chun a máistir. Níor tháinig na hArámaigh ag creachadh críocha Iosrael as sin amach. An tSamáir faoi Léigear
23 Entonces les fué aparejada grande comida: y como hubieron comido y bebido, enviólos, y ellos se volvieron á su señor. Y nunca más vinieron cuadrillas de Siria á la tierra de Israel.
23 Da ward ein großes Mahl zugerichtet. Und da sie gegessen und getrunken hatten, ließ er sie gehen, daß sie zu ihrem Herrn zogen. Seit dem kamen streifende Rotten der Syrer nicht mehr ins Land Israel.
24 Now after this, Ben-hadad, king of Aram, got together all his army and went up to make an attack on Samaria, shutting the town in on all sides with his forces.
24 Après cela, Ben Hadad, roi de Syrie, ayant rassemblé toute son armée, monta et assiégea Samarie.
24 Tharla ina dhiaidh sin gur chruinnigh Bein Hadad rí Arám a shluaite go léir agus go ndeachaigh sé suas agus léigear a chur ar an tSamáir.
24 Después de esto aconteció, que Ben-adad rey de Siria juntó todo su ejército, y subió, y puso cerco á Samaria.
24 Nach diesem begab sich's, daß Benhadad, der König von Syrien all sein Heer versammelte und zog herauf und belagerte Samaria.
25 And they became very short of food in Samaria; for they kept it shut in till the price of an ass's head was eighty shekels of silver, and a small measure of doves' droppings was five shekels of silver.
25 Il y eut une grande famine dans Samarie; et ils la serrèrent tellement qu'une tête d'âne valait quatre-vingts sicles d'argent, et le quart d'un kab de fiente de pigeon cinq sicles d'argent.
25 Bhí gorta mór sa tSamáir agus bhí an léigear chomh dian go raibh ceann asail á dhíol ar ochtó seicil airgid, agus ceathrú cab [d'iniúin fhiáine] ar chúig seicil airgid.
25 Y hubo grande hambre en Samaria, teniendo ellos cerco sobre ella; tanto, que la cabeza de un asno era vendida por ochenta piezas de plata, y la cuarta de un cabo de estiércol de palomas por cinco piezas de plata.
25 Und es ward eine große Teuerung zu Samaria. Sie aber belagerten die Stadt, bis daß ein Eselskopf achtzig Silberlinge und ein viertel Kab Taubenmist fünf Silberlinge galt.
26 And when the king of Israel was going by on the wall, a woman came crying out to him, and said, Help! my lord king.
26 Et comme le roi passait sur la muraille, une femme lui cria: Sauve-moi, ô roi, mon seigneur!
26 Agus nuair a bhí rí Iosrael ag gabháil thart ar bhalla na cathrach, ghlaoigh bean, in ard a cinn air: “Fóir orm, a thiarna, mo rí.”
26 Y pasando el rey de Israel por el muro, una mujer le dió voces, y dijo: Salva, rey señor mío.
26 Und da der König Israels an der Mauer einherging, schrie ihn ein Weib an und sprach: Hilf mir, Mein König!
27 And he said, If the Lord does not give you help, where am I to get help for you? from the grain-floor or the grape-crusher?
27 Il répondit: Si l'Éternel ne te sauve pas, avec quoi te sauverais-je? avec le produit de l'aire ou du pressoir?
27 “Go bhfága an Tiarna gan fóirithint thú,” ar seisean, “cá bhfaighinnse leigheas do cháis? Ón urlár buailte nó ón gcantaoir fhíona?”
27 Y él dijo: Si no te salva Jehová, ¿de dónde te tengo de salvar yo? ¿del alfolí, ó del lagar?
27 Er sprach: Hilft dir der HERR nicht, woher soll ich dir helfen? von der Tenne oder der Kelter?
28 And the king said to her, What is troubling you? And she said in answer, This woman said to me, Give your son to be our food today, and we will have my son tomorrow.
28 Et le roi lui dit: Qu'as-tu? Elle répondit: Cette femme-là m'a dit: Donne ton fils! nous le mangerons aujourd'hui, et demain nous mangerons mon fils.
28 Ansin d'fhiafraigh an rí: “Cad tá ort?” D'fhreagair sí: “Dúirt an bhean seo liom: ‘Tabhair suas do mhac le hithe againn inniu, agus íosfaimid mo mhacsa amárach.’
28 Y díjole el rey: ¿Qué tienes? Y ella respondió: Esta mujer me dijo: Da acá tu hijo, y comámoslo hoy, y mañana comeremos el mío.
28 Und der König sprach zu Ihr: Was ist dir? Sie sprach: Dies Weib sprach zu mir: Gib deinen Sohn her, daß wir heute essen; morgen wollen wir meinen Sohn essen.
29 So, boiling my son, we had a meal of him; and on the day after I said to her, Now give your son for our food; but she has put her son in a secret place.
29 Nous avons fait cuire mon fils, et nous l'avons mangé. Et le jour suivant, je lui ai dit: Donne ton fils, et nous le mangerons. Mais elle a caché son fils.
29 Rinneamar mo mhac a bheiriú dá réir sin agus a ithe. Lá arna mhárach dúirt mé léi: ‘Tabhair suas do mhac le hithe againn,’ ach tá a mac i bhfolach aici.”
29 Cocimos pues mi hijo, y le comimos. El día siguiente yo le dije: Da acá tu hijo, y comámoslo. Mas ella ha escondido su hijo.
29 So haben wir meinen Sohn gekocht und gegessen. Und ich sprach zu ihr am andern Tage: Gib deinen Sohn her und laß uns essen! Aber sie hat ihren Sohn versteckt.
30 Then the king, hearing what the woman said, took his robes in his hands, violently parting them; and, while he was walking on the wall, the people, looking, saw that under his robe he had haircloth on his flesh.
30 Lorsque le roi entendit les paroles de cette femme, il déchira ses vêtements, en passant sur la muraille; et le peuple vit qu'il avait en dedans un sac sur son corps.
30 Nuair a chuala an rí focail na mná, stróic sé a chuid éadaigh; ós rud é go raibh sé ag siúl ar an mballa chonaic an pobal go raibh sacéadach, féach, lena chneas laistigh.
30 Y como el rey oyó las palabras de aquella mujer, rasgó sus vestidos, y pasó así por el muro: y llegó á ver el pueblo el saco que traía interiormente sobre su carne.
30 Da der König die Worte des Weibes hörte, zerriß er seine Kleider, indem er auf der Mauer ging. Da sah alles Volk, daß er darunter einen Sack am Leibe anhatte.
31 Then he said, May God's punishment come on me if Elisha, the son of Shaphat, keeps his head on his body after this day.
31 Le roi dit: Que Dieu me punisse dans toute sa rigueur, si la tête d'Élisée, fils de Schaphath, reste aujourd'hui sur lui!
31 “Go ndéana Dia a leithéid seo agus a leithéid siúd sa bhreis liom,” ar sé, “má fhanann ceann Eilíseá mac Sheáfát ar a ghuaillí inniu!”
31 Y él dijo: Así me haga Dios, y así me añada, si la cabeza de Eliseo hijo de Saphat quedare sobre él hoy.
31 Und er sprach: Gott tue mir dies und das, wo das Haupt Elisas, des Sohnes Saphats, heute auf ihm stehen wird!
32 But Elisha was in his house, and the responsible men were seated there with him; and before the king got there, Elisha said to those who were with him, Do you see how this cruel and violent man has sent to take away my life?
32 Or Élisée était dans sa maison, et les anciens étaient assis auprès de lui. Le roi envoya quelqu'un devant lui. Mais avant que le messager soit arrivé, Élisée dit aux anciens: Voyez-vous que ce fils d'assassin envoie quelqu'un pour m'ôter la tête? Écoutez! quand le messager viendra, fermez la porte, et repoussez-le avec la porte: le bruit des pas de son maître ne se fait-il pas entendre derrière lui?
32 Bhí Eilíseá ina shuí ina theach agus na seanóirí ina suí ina thimpeall. Chuir an rí teachtaire óna láthair ach sular shroich sé, dúirt Eilíseá leis na seanóirí: “An bhfeiceann sibh mar a thug an dúnmharfóir úd ón mbroinn orduithe an ceann a scothadh díom? Féach, nuair a thiocfaidh an teachtaire, dúnaigí an doras air; coinnigí an doras dúnta air. Nach bhfuil truip choiscéim a mháistir le cloisteáil ina dhiaidh?”
32 Estaba á la sazón Eliseo sentado en su casa, y con él estaban sentados los ancianos: y el rey envió á él un hombre. Mas antes que el mensajero viniese á él, dijo él á los ancianos: ¿No habéis visto como este hijo del homicida me envía á quitar la cabeza? Mirad pues, y cuando viniere el mensajero, cerrad la puerta, é impedidle la entrada: ¿no viene tras él el ruido de los pies de su amo?
32 Elisa aber saß in seinem Hause, und alle Ältesten saßen bei ihm. Und der König sandte einen Mann vor sich her. Aber ehe der Bote zu ihm kam, sprach er zu den Ältesten: Habt ihr gesehen, wie dies Mordkind hat hergesandt, daß er mein Haupt abreiße? Sehet zu, wenn der Bote kommt, daß ihr die Tür zuschließt und stoßt ihn mit der Tür weg! Siehe, das Rauschen der Füße seines Herrn folgt ihm nach.
33 While he was still talking to them, the king came down and said, This evil is from the Lord; why am I to go on waiting any longer for the Lord?
33 Il leur parlait encore, et déjà le messager était descendu vers lui, et disait: Voici, ce mal vient de l'Éternel; qu'ai-je à espérer encore de l'Éternel?
33 Ag caint fós leo dósan, shroich [an rí]. “Is léir,” ar sé, “gur ón Tiarna an mí-ádh seo. Cén fáth a mbeadh muinín agam fós as an Tiarna?”
33 Aun estaba él hablando con ellos, y he aquí el mensajero que descendía á él; y dijo: Ciertamente este mal de Jehová viene. ¿Para qué tengo de esperar más á Jehová?
33 Da er noch also mit ihnen redete, siehe, da kam der Bote zu ihm hinab; und er sprach: Siehe, solches Übel kommt von dem HERRN! was soll ich mehr von dem HERRN erwarten?
