1 I have said these things to you so that you may not be in doubt.
1 Je vous ai dit ces choses, afin qu'elles ne soient pas pour vous une occasion de chute.
1 D'inis mé an méid sin daoibh, ionas nach nglacfaidh sibh scannal.
1 ESTAS cosas os he hablado, para que no os escandalicéis.
1 Solches habe ich zu euch geredet, daß ihr euch nicht ärgert.
2 They will put you out of the Synagogues: yes, the time is coming when whoever puts you to death will have the belief that he is doing God's pleasure.
2 Ils vous excluront des synagogues; et même l'heure vient où quiconque vous fera mourir croira rendre un culte à Dieu.
2 Dúnfar amach as na sionagóga sibh; tá an t‑am ag teacht, fiú amháin, nuair a shílfidh an té a mharóidh sibh gur ag déanamh réir Dé a bhíonn.
2 Os echarán de los sinagogas; y aun viene la hora, cuando cualquiera que os matare, pensará que hace servició á Dios.
2 Sie werden euch in den Bann tun. Es kommt aber die Zeit, daß wer euch tötet, wird meinen, er tue Gott einen Dienst daran.
3 They will do these things to you because they have not had knowledge of the Father or of me.
3 Et ils agiront ainsi, parce qu'ils n'ont connu ni le Père ni moi.
3 Agus déanfaidh siad an méid sin [oraibh] de bhrí nach bhfuil aithne acu ar an Athair ná ormsa.
3 Y estas cosas os harán, porque no conocen al Padre ni á mí.
3 Und solches werden sie euch darum tun, daß sie weder meinen Vater noch mich erkennen.
4 I have said these things to you so that when the time comes, what I have said may come to your mind. I did not say them to you at the first, because then I was still with you.
4 Je vous ai dit ces choses, afin que, lorsque l'heure sera venue, vous vous souveniez que je vous les ai dites. Je ne vous en ai pas parlé dès le commencement, parce que j'étais avec vous.
4 D'inis mé an méid sin daoibh ionas go mbeadh cuimhne agaibh, nuair a thiocfaidh an t‑am dó, gur inis mé daoibh é. Níor dhúirt mé na nithe seo libh ó thus mar bhí mé in bhur bhfochair. An Spiorad Naomh
4 Mas os he dicho esto, para que cuando aquella hora viniere, os acordeis que yo os lo había dicho. Esto empero no os lo dije al principio, porque yo estaba con vosotros.
4 Aber solches habe ich zu euch geredet, auf das, wenn die Zeit kommen wird, ihr daran gedenket, daß ich's euch gesagt habe. Solches aber habe ich von Anfang nicht gesagt; denn ich war bei euch.
5 But now I am going to him who sent me; and not one of you says to me, Where are you going?
5 Maintenant je m'en vais vers celui qui m'a envoyé, et aucun de vous ne me demande: Où vas-tu?
5 “Táim ag imeacht anois, go dtí an té a chuir uaidh mé, agus ní fhiafraíonn aon duine agaibh díom, ‘Cá bhfuil tú ag dul?’
5 Mas ahora voy al que me envió; y ninguno de vosotros me pregunta: ¿Adónde vas?
5 Nun aber gehe ich hin zu dem, der mich gesandt hat; und niemand unter euch fragt mich: Wo gehst du hin?
6 But your hearts are full of sorrow because I have said these things.
6 Mais, parce que je vous ai dit ces choses, la tristesse a rempli votre coeur.
6 Ach de bhrí gur dhúirt mé an méid sin libh, líon bhur gcroí de bhrón.
6 Antes, porque os he hablado estas cosas, tristeza ha henchido vuestro corazón.
6 Sondern weil ich solches geredet habe, ist euer Herz voll Trauerns geworden.
7 But what I am saying is true: my going is for your good: for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you.
7 Cependant je vous dis la vérité: il vous est avantageux que je m'en aille, car si je ne m'en vais pas, le consolateur ne viendra pas vers vous; mais, si je m'en vais, je vous l'enverrai.
7 Insím an fhírinne daoibh, áfach: is é bhur leas mise a imeacht, mar mura n‑imeoidh mé, ní thiocfaidh an tAbhcóide chugaibh; ach má imím, cuirfidh mé chugaibh é.
7 Empero yo os digo la verdad: Os es necesario que yo vaya: porque si yo no fuese, el Consolador no vendría á vosotros; mas si yo fuere, os le enviaré.
7 Aber ich sage euch die Wahrheit: es ist euch gut, daß ich hingehe. Denn so ich nicht hingehe, so kommt der Tröster nicht zu euch; so ich aber gehe, will ich ihn zu euch senden.
8 And he, when he comes, will make the world conscious of sin, and of righteousness, and of being judged:
8 Et quand il sera venu, il convaincra le monde en ce qui concerne le péché, la justice, et le jugement:
8 Agus nuair a thiocfaidh sé, áiteoidh sé ar an saol go bhfuil an éagóir aige i dtaobh an pheaca, agus i dtaobh an chirt, agus i dtaobh an bhreithiúnais.
8 Y cuando él viniere redargüirá al mundo de pecado, y de justicia, y de juicio:

9 Of sin, because they have not faith in me;
9 en ce qui concerne le péché, parce qu'ils ne croient pas en moi;

9 De pecado ciertamente, por cuanto no creen en mí;
9 um die Sünde, daß sie nicht glauben an mich;
10 Of righteousness, because I go to the Father and you will see me no more;
10 la justice, parce que je vais au Père, et que vous ne me verrez plus;
10 i dtaobh an chirt, de bhrí go bhfuilim ag triall ar an Athair;
10 Y de justicia, por cuanto voy al Padre, y no me veréis más;
10 um die Gerechtigkeit aber, daß ich zum Vater gehe und ihr mich hinfort nicht sehet;
11 Of being judged, because the ruler of this world has been judged.
11 le jugement, parce que le prince de ce monde est jugé.
11 i dtaobh an bhreithiúnais, de bhrí go bhfuíl daorbhreith tugtha cheana féin ar phrionsa an tsaoil seo.
11 Y de juicio, por cuanto el príncipe de este mundo es juzgado.
11 um das Gericht, daß der Fürst dieser Welt gerichtet ist.
12 I have still much to say to you, but you are not strong enough for it now.
12 J'ai encore beaucoup de choses à vous dire, mais vous ne pouvez pas les porter maintenant.
12 Tá mórán eile le rá agam libh, ach ní fhéadann sibh iad a fhulaingt anois;
12 Aun tengo muchas cosas que deciros, mas ahora no las podéis llevar.
12 Ich habe euch noch viel zu sagen; aber ihr könnt es jetzt nicht tragen.
13 However, when he, the Spirit of true knowledge, has come, he will be your guide into all true knowledge: for his words will not come from himself, but whatever has come to his hearing, that he will say: and he will make clear to you the things to come.
13 Quand le consolateur sera venu, l'Esprit de vérité, il vous conduira dans toute la vérité; car il ne parlera pas de lui-même, mais il dira tout ce qu'il aura entendu, et il vous annoncera les choses à venir.
13 ach nuair a thiocfaidh sé siúd, Spiorad na Fírinne, déanfaidh sé eolas daoibh chun an uile fhírinne. Óir ní as féin a labhróidh; labhróidh sé na nithe a chuala sé, agus inseoidh sé daoibh na nithe atá le teacht.
13 Pero cuando viniere aquel Espíritu de verdad, él os guiará á toda verdad; porque no hablará de sí mismo, sino que hablará todo lo que oyere, y os hará saber las cosas que han de venir.
13 Wenn aber jener, der Geist der Wahrheit, kommen wird, der wird euch in alle Wahrheit leiten. Denn er wird nicht von sich selber reden; sondern was er hören wird, das wird er reden, und was zukünftig ist, wird er euch verkünden.
14 He will give me glory, because he will take of what is mine, and make it clear to you.
14 Il me glorifiera, parce qu'il prendra de ce qui est à moi, et vous l'annoncera.
14 Tabharfaidh sé glóir domsa, óir is de mo chuidse a ghlacfaidh agus a inseoidh sé daoibh.
14 El me glorificará: porque tomará de lo mío, y os lo hará saber.
14 Derselbe wird mich verklären; denn von dem Meinen wird er's nehmen und euch verkündigen.
15 Everything which the Father has is mine: that is why I say, He will take of what is mine and will make it clear to you.
15 Tout ce que le Père a est à moi; c'est pourquoi j'ai dit qu'il prend de ce qui est à moi, et qu'il vous l'annoncera.
15 An uile ní dá bhfuil ag m'Athair, is liomsa é. Uime sin a dúirt mé: ‘Is de mo chuidse a ghlacfaidh agus a inseoidh sé daoibh.’ Íosa le Teacht Arís
15 Todo lo que tiene el Padre, mío es: por eso dije que tomará de lo mío, y os lo hará saber.
15 Alles, was der Vater hat, das ist mein. Darum habe ich euch gesagt: Er wird's von dem Meinen nehmen und euch verkündigen.
16 After a little time you will see me no longer; and then again, after a little time, you will see me.
16 Encore un peu de temps, et vous ne me verrez plus; et puis encore un peu de temps, et vous me verrez, parce que je vais au Père.
16 “Tamall beag agus ní fheicfidh sibh mé níos mó, agus tamall beag eile agus beidh radharc agaibh orm, mar táim ag triall ar an Athair.”
16 Un poquito, y no me veréis; y otra vez un poquito, y me veréis: porque yo voy al Padre.
16 Über ein kleines, so werdet ihr mich nicht sehen; und aber über ein kleines, so werdet ihr mich sehen, denn ich gehe zum Vater.
17 So some of the disciples said one to another, What is this he is saying, After a little time, you will see me no longer; and then again, after a little time, you will see me? and, I am going to the Father?
17 Là-dessus, quelques-uns de ses disciples dirent entre eux: Que signifie ce qu'il nous dit: Encore un peu de temps, et vous ne me verrez plus; et puis encore un peu de temps, et vous me verrez? et: Parce que je vais au Père?
17 Ansin dúirt cuid dá dheisceabail le chéile: “Cad é seo a deir sé linn: ‘Tamall beag agus ní fheicfidh sibh mé, agus tamall beag eile, agus beidh radharc agaibh orm’; agus ‘mar táim ag triall ar an Athair’?”
17 Entonces dijeron algunos de sus discípulos unos á otros: ¿Qué es esto que nos dice: Un poquito, y no me veréis; y otra vez un poquito, y me veréis: y, por que yo voy al Padre?
17 Da sprachen etliche unter seinen Jüngern untereinander: Was ist das, was er sagt zu uns: Über ein kleines, so werdet ihr mich nicht sehen; und aber über ein kleines, so werdet ihr mich sehen, und: Ich gehe zum Vater?
18 So they said again and again, What is this he is saying, A little time? His words are not clear to us.
18 Ils disaient donc: Que signifie ce qu'il dit: Encore un peu de temps? Nous ne savons de quoi il parle.
18 Dá bhrí sin dúirt siad: “Cad é an ‘tamall beag’ é seo a deir sé? Níl a fhios againn cad is ciall lena chomhrá.”
18 Decían pues: ¿Qué es esto que dice: Un poquito? No entendemos lo que habla.
18 Da sprachen sie: Was ist das, was er sagt: Über ein kleines? Wir wissen nicht, was er redet.
19 Jesus saw that they had a desire to put the question to him, so he said to them, Is this what you are questioning one with another, why I said, After a little time, you will see me no longer; and then again, after a little time, you will see me?
19 Jésus, connut qu'ils voulaient l'interroger, leur dit: Vous vous questionnez les uns les autres sur ce que j'ai dit: Encore un peu de temps, et vous ne me verrez plus; et puis encore un peu de temps, et vous me verrez.
19 Bhí a fhios ag Íosa gur mhian leo é a cheistiú agus dúirt sé leo: “Tá sibh ag fiafraí dá chéile cad is ciall leis an rud a dúirt mé: ‘Tamall beag agus ní fheicfidh sibh mé, agus tamall beag eile agus beidh radharc agaibh orm.’
19 Y conoció Jesús que le querían preguntar, y díjoles: ¿Preguntáis entre vosotros de esto que dije: Un poquito, y no me veréis, y otra vez un poquito, y me veréis?
19 Da merkte Jesus, daß sie ihn fragen wollten, und sprach zu ihnen: Davon fragt ihr untereinander, daß ich gesagt habe: Über ein kleines, so werdet ihr mich nicht sehen; und aber über ein kleines, so werdet ihr mich sehen.
20 Truly I say to you, You will be weeping and sorrowing, but the world will be glad: you will be sad, but your sorrow will be turned into joy.
20 En vérité, en vérité, je vous le dis, vous pleurerez et vous vous lamenterez, et le monde se réjouira: vous serez dans la tristesse, mais votre tristesse se changera en joie.
20 Amen, Amen, a deirim libh, beidh sibhse ag gol agus ag caoineadh, ach beidh an saol ag déanamh áthais. Beidh sibhse buartha, ach iompófar bhur mbuairt chun áthais.
20 De cierto, de cierto os digo, que vosotros lloraréis y lamentaréis, y el mundo se alegrará: empero aunque vosotros estaréis tristes, vuestra tristeza se tornará en gozo.
20 Wahrlich, wahrlich ich sage euch: Ihr werdet weinen und heulen, aber die Welt wird sich freuen; ihr werdet traurig sein; doch eure Traurigkeit soll in Freude verkehrt werden.
21 When a woman is about to give birth she has sorrow, because her hour is come; but when she has given birth to the child, the pain is put out of her mind by the joy that a man has come into the world.
21 La femme, lorsqu'elle enfante, éprouve de la tristesse, parce que son heure est venue; mais, lorsqu'elle a donné le jour à l'enfant, elle ne se souvient plus de la souffrance, à cause de la joie qu'elle a de ce qu'un homme est né dans le monde.
21 Nuair a bhíonn bean ina luí seoil, bíonn buairt uirthi, de bhrí go bhfuil a hionú tagtha. Ach nuair a bhíonn an leanbh saolaithe, ní bhíonn cuimhne aici ar an trioblóid a thuilleadh, le barr áthais go bhfuil duine saolaithe.
21 La mujer cuando pare, tiene dolor, porque es venida su hora; mas después que ha parido un niño, ya no se acuerda de la angustia, por el gozo de que haya nacido un hombre en el mundo.
21 Ein Weib, wenn sie gebiert, so hat sie Traurigkeit; denn ihre Stunde ist gekommen. Wenn sie aber das Kind geboren hat, denkt sie nicht mehr an die Angst um der Freude willen, daß der Mensch zur Welt geboren ist.
22 So you have sorrow now: but I will see you again, and your hearts will be glad, and no one will take away your joy.
22 Vous donc aussi, vous êtes maintenant dans la tristesse; mais je vous reverrai, et votre coeur se réjouira, et nul ne vous ravira votre joie.
22 Agus sibhse mar an gcéanna, tá buairt oraibh anois, ach feicfidh mé arís sibh, agus beidh bhur gcroí ag déanamh áthais, agus ní bhainfidh duine ar bith bhur n‑áthas díbh.
22 También, pues, vosotros ahora ciertamente tenéis tristeza; mas otra vez os veré, y se gozará vuestro corazón, y nadie quitará de vosotros vuestro gozo.
22 Und ihr habt auch nun Traurigkeit; aber ich will euch wiedersehen, und euer Herz soll sich freuen, und eure Freude soll niemand von euch nehmen.
23 And on that day you will put no questions to me. Truly I say to you, Whatever request you make to the Father, he will give it to you in my name.
23 En ce jour-là, vous ne m'interrogerez plus sur rien. En vérité, en vérité, je vous le dis, ce que vous demanderez au Père, il vous le donnera en mon nom.
23 An lá sin ní bheidh aon cheist le cur agaibh orm. Amen, Amen, a deirim libh, má iarrann sibh ní ar bith ar an Athair tabharfaidh sé daoibh é i m'ainm-sé.
23 Y aquel día no me preguntaréis nada. De cierto, de cierto os digo, que todo cuanto pidiereis al Padre en mi nombre, os lo dará.
23 Und an dem Tage werdet ihr mich nichts fragen. Wahrlich, wahrlich ich sage euch: So ihr den Vater etwas bitten werdet in meinem Namen, so wird er's euch geben.
24 Up to now you have made no request in my name: do so, and it will be answered, so that your hearts may be full of joy.
24 Jusqu'à présent vous n'avez rien demandé en mon nom. Demandez, et vous recevrez, afin que votre joie soit parfaite.
24 Go dtí seo níor iarr sibh ní ar bith i m'ainm. Iarraigí agus gheobhaidh sibh, chun go mbeadh bhur n‑áthas iomlán.
24 Hasta ahora nada habéis pedido en mi nombre: pedid, y recibiréis, para que vuestro gozo sea cumplido.
24 Bisher habt ihr nichts gebeten in meinem Namen. Bittet, so werdet ihr nehmen, daß eure Freude vollkommen sei.
25 All this I have said to you in veiled language: but the time is coming when I will no longer say things in veiled language but will give you knowledge of the Father clearly.
25 Je vous ai dit ces choses en paraboles. L'heure vient où je ne vous parlerai plus en paraboles, mais où je vous parlerai ouvertement du Père.
25 Labhair mé an méid sin libh i solaoidí. Tá an t‑am ag teacht, nuair nach labhróidh mé libh a thuilleadh i solaoidí, ach inseoidh mé daoibh go soiléir mar gheall ar an Athair.
25 Estas cosas os he hablado en proverbios: la hora viene cuando ya no os hablaré por proverbios, pero claramente os anunciaré del Padre.
25 Solches habe ich zu euch durch Sprichwörter geredet. Es kommt aber die Zeit, daß ich nicht mehr durch Sprichwörter mit euch reden werde, sondern euch frei heraus verkündigen von meinem Vater.
26 In that day you will make requests in my name: and I do not say that I will make prayer to the Father for you,
26 En ce jour, vous demanderez en mon nom, et je ne vous dis pas que je prierai le Père pour vous;
26 Iarrfaidh sibh i m'ainm an lá sin, agus nílim á rá libh go ndéanfaidh mé achainí ar an Athair ar bhur son.
26 Aquel día pediréis en mi nombre: y no os digo, que yo rogaré al Padre por vosotros;
26 An dem Tage werdet ihr bitten in meinem Namen. Und ich sage euch nicht, daß ich den Vater für euch bitten will;
27 For the Father himself gives his love to you, because you have given your love to me and have had faith that I came from God.
27 car le Père lui-même vous aime, parce que vous m'avez aimé, et que vous avez cru que je suis sorti de Dieu.
27 Óir tá cion ag an Athair féin oraibh, de bhrí go raibh cion agaibh orm, agus gur chreid sibh gur ó Dhia a ghabh mé amach.
27 Pues el mismo Padre os ama, porque vosotros me amasteis, y habéis creído que yo salí de Dios.
27 denn er selbst, der Vater, hat euch lieb, darum daß ihr mich liebet und glaubet, daß ich von Gott ausgegangen bin.
28 I came out from the Father and have come into the world: again, I go away from the world and go to the Father.
28 Je suis sorti du Père, et je suis venu dans le monde; maintenant je quitte le monde, et je vais au Père.
28 Ghabh mé amach ón Athair, agus tháinig mé ar an saol. Táim ag fágáil an tsaoil arís, agus táim ag triall ar an Athair.”
28 Salí del Padre, y he venido al mundo: otra vez dejo el mundo, y voy al Padre.
28 Ich bin vom Vater ausgegangen und gekommen in die Welt; wiederum verlasse ich die Welt und gehe zum Vater.
29 His disciples said, Now you are talking clearly and not in veiled language.
29 Ses disciples lui dirent: Voici, maintenant tu parles ouvertement, et tu n'emploies aucune parabole.
29 Dúirt a dheisceabail leis: “Féach, tá tú ag caint go hoscailte feasta agus ní solaoid ar bith atá tú á rá.
29 Dícenle sus discípulos: He aquí, ahora hablas claramente, y ningún proverbio dices.
29 Sprechen zu ihm seine Jünger: Siehe, nun redest du frei heraus und sagst kein Sprichwort.
30 Now we are certain that you have knowledge of all things and have no need for anyone to put questions to you: through this we have faith that you came from God.
30 Maintenant nous savons que tu sais toutes choses, et que tu n'as pas besoin que personne t'interroge; c'est pourquoi nous croyons que tu es sorti de Dieu.
30 Tá a fhios againn anois go bhfuil fios gach uile ní agat, agus nach gá duit go mbeadh duine ar bith do do cheistiú. As seo a chreidimid gur ó Dhia a ghabh tú amach.”
30 Ahora entendemos que sabes todas las cosas, y no necesitas que nadie te pregunte: en esto creemos que has salido de Dios.
30 Nun wissen wir, daß du alle Dinge weißt und bedarfst nicht, daß dich jemand frage; darum glauben wir, daß du von Gott ausgegangen bist.
32 See, a time is coming, yes, it is now here, when you will go away in all directions, every man to his house, and I will be by myself: but I am not by myself, because the Father is with me.
32 Voici, l'heure vient, et elle est déjà venue, où vous serez dispersés chacun de son côté, et où vous me laisserez seul; mais je ne suis pas seul, car le Père est avec moi.
32 Féach, tá an uair ag teacht, agus tá sí ann cheana féin, nuair a scaipfear sibh, gach duine chun a bhaile féin, agus fágfaidh sibh mise i m'aonar. Ach nílim i m'aonar, de bhrí go bhfuil an tAthair faram.
32 He aquí, la hora viene, y ha venido, que seréis esparcidos cada uno por su parte, y me dejaréis solo: mas no estoy solo, porque el Padre está conmigo.
32 Siehe, es kommt die Stunde und ist schon gekommen, daß ihr zerstreut werdet, ein jeglicher in das Seine, und mich allein lasset. Aber ich bin nicht allein, denn der Vater ist bei mir.
33 I have said all these things to you so that in me you may have peace. In the world you have trouble: but take heart! I have overcome the world.
33 Je vous ai dit ces choses, afin que vous ayez la paix en moi. Vous aurez des tribulations dans le monde; mais prenez courage, j'ai vaincu le monde.
33 Labhair mé na nithe sin libh, chun go mbeadh síocháin agaibh ionamsa. Tá buairt agaibh sa saol, ach bíodh misneach agaibh. Tá buaite agamsa ar an saol.”
33 Estas cosas os he hablado, para que en mí tengáis paz. En el mundo tendréis aflicción: mas confiad, yo he vencido al mundo.
33 Solches habe ich mit euch geredet, daß ihr in mir Frieden habet. In der Welt habt ihr Angst; aber seid getrost, ich habe die Welt überwunden.
