1 When the words of my law came from Ephraim, he was lifted up in Israel; but when he did evil through the Baal, death overtook him.
1 Lorsqu'Éphraïm parlait, c'était une terreur: Il s'élevait en Israël. Mais il s'est rendu coupable par Baal, et il est mort.

1 CUANDO Ephraim hablaba, hubo temor; fué ensalzado en Israel; mas pecó en Baal, y murió.
1 Da Ephraim Schreckliches redete, ward er in Israel erhoben, darnach versündigten sie sich durch Baal und wurden darüber getötet.
2 And now their sins are increased; they have made themselves a metal image, false gods from their silver, after their designs, all of them the work of the metal-workers; they say of them, Let them give offerings, let men give kisses to the oxen.
2 Maintenant ils continuent à pécher, Ils se font avec leur argent des images en fonte, Des idoles de leur invention; Toutes sont l'oeuvre des artisans. On dit à leur sujet: Que ceux qui sacrifient baisent les veaux!

2 Y ahora añadieron á su pecado, y de su plata se han hecho según su entendimiento, estatuas de fundición, ídolos, toda obra de artífices; acerca de los cuales dicen á los hombres que sacrifican, que besen los becerros.
2 Aber nun machen sie der Sünden viel mehr und aus ihrem Silber Bilder, wie sie es erdenken können, nämlich Götzen, welche doch eitel Schmiedewerk sind. Dennoch predigen sie von denselben: Wer die Kälber küssen will, der soll Menschen opfern.
3 So they will be like the morning cloud, like the dew which goes early away, like the dust of the grain which the wind is driving out of the crushing-floor, like smoke going up from the fireplace.
3 C'est pourquoi ils seront comme la nuée du matin, Comme la rosée qui bientôt se dissipe, Comme la balle emportée par le vent hors de l'aire, Comme la fumée qui sort d'une fenêtre.

3 Por tanto serán como la niebla de la mañana, y como el rocío de la madrugada que se pasa; como el tamo que la tempestad arroja de la era, y como el humo que de la chimenea sale.
3 Darum werden sie sein wie die Morgenwolke und wie der Tau, der frühmorgens vergeht; ja, wie die Spreu, die von der Tenne verweht wird, und wie der Rauch von dem Schornstein.
4 But I am the Lord your God, from the land of Egypt; you have knowledge of no other God and there is no saviour but me.
4 Et moi, je suis l'Éternel, ton Dieu, dès le pays d'Égypte. Tu ne connais d'autre Dieu que moi, Et il n'y a de sauveur que moi.

7 So I will be like a lion to them; as a cruel beast I will keep watch by the road;

8 Je les attaquerai, comme une ourse à qui l'on a enlevé ses petits, Et je déchirerai l'enveloppe de leur coeur; Je les dévorerai, comme une lionne; Les bêtes des champs les mettront en pièces.

8 Ich will ihnen begegnen wie ein Bär, dem seine Jungen genommen sind, und will ihr verstocktes Herz zerreißen und will sie daselbst wie ein Löwe fressen; die wilden Tiere sollen sie zerreißen.
9 I have sent destruction on you, O Israel; who will be your helper?

10 Wo ist dein König hin, der dir helfen möge in allen deinen Städten? und deine Richter, von denen du sagtest: Gib mir Könige und Fürsten?
11 I have given you a king, because I was angry, and have taken him away in my wrath.

13 Les douleurs de celle qui enfante viendront pour lui; C'est un enfant peu sage, Qui, au terme voulu, ne sort pas du sein maternel.

14 I will give the price to make them free from the power of the underworld, I will be their saviour from death: O death! where are your pains? O underworld! where is your destruction? my eyes will have no pity.
14 Je les rachèterai de la puissance du séjour des morts, Je les délivrerai de la mort. O mort, où est ta peste? Séjour des morts, où est ta destruction? Mais le repentir se dérobe à mes regards!
14 Fuascloidh mé ó chumhacht Sheól iad; Sábhálfaidh mé iad ón mBás. Cá bhfuil do ghathanna, a Bháis? Cá bhfuil do chealg, a Sheól? Ceilfear uirthi áfach an trua atá agam di.
14 De la mano del sepulcro los redimiré, librarélos de la muerte. Oh muerte, yo seré tu muerte; y seré tu destrucción, oh sepulcro; arrepentimiento será escondido de mis ojos.
14 Aber ich will sie erlösen aus der Hölle und vom Tod erretten. Tod, ich will dir ein Gift sein; Hölle ich will dir eine Pestilenz sein. Doch ist der Trost vor meinen Augen verborgen.
15 Though he gives fruit among his brothers, an east wind will come, the wind of the Lord coming up from the waste land, and his spring will become dry, his fountain will be without water: it will make waste the store of all the vessels of his desire.
15 Éphraïm a beau être fertile au milieu de ses frères, Le vent d'orient viendra, le vent de l'Éternel s'élèvera du désert, Desséchera ses sources, tarira ses fontaines. On pillera le trésor de tous les objets précieux.
15 Cé gur fhás sí suas go borb i measc a muintire, tiocfaidh an ghaoth anoir uirthi, gaoth an Tiarna a éireoidh ón bhfásach; agus triomófar a foinse agus rachaidh a tobar i ndísc. [Creachfaidh sí a chuid maoine agus a earraí luachmhara uile.]
15 Aunque él fructificará entre los hermanos, vendrá el solano, viento de Jehová, subiendo de la parte del desierto, y secarse ha su vena, y secaráse su manadero: él saqueará el tesoro de todas las preciosas alhajas.
15 Denn wenn er auch zwischen Brüdern Frucht bringt, so wird doch ein Ostwind des HERRN aus der Wüste herauffahren, daß sein Brunnen vertrocknet und seine Quelle versiegt; und er wird rauben den Schatz alles köstlichen Gerätes.
16 Samaria will be made waste, for she has gone against her God: they will be cut down by the sword, their little children will be broken on the rocks, their women who are with child will be cut open.
16 Samarie sera punie, parce qu'elle s'est révoltée contre son Dieu. Ils tomberont par l'épée; Leurs petits enfants seront écrasés, Et l'on fendra le ventre de leurs femmes enceintes.
16 Scriosfar an tSamáir, mar bhí sí easumhal dá Dia. Bás le faobhar a imreofar orthu; déanfar smidiríní dá leanaí, agus réabfar a mná torracha. Maithiúnas agus Rath i nDíol ar Fhíoraithrí
16 Samaria será asolada, porque se rebeló contra su Dios: caerán á cuchillo: sus niños serán estrellados, y su preñadas serán abiertas.
16 Samaria wird wüst werden, denn sie sind ihrem Gott ungehorsam; sie sollen durchs Schwert fallen, und ihre jungen Kinder zerschmettert und ihre schwangeren Weiber zerrissen werden.
