1 If only my head was a stream of waters and my eyes fountains of weeping, so that I might go on weeping day and night for the dead of the daughter of my people!

1 Ach, daß ich Wasser genug hätte in meinem Haupte und meine Augen Tränenquellen wären, daß ich Tag und Nacht beweinen möchte die Erschlagenen in meinem Volk!
2 If only I had in the waste land a night's resting-place for travellers, so that I might go away, far from my people! for they are all untrue, a band of false men.
2 Oh! si j'avais au désert une cabane de voyageurs, J'abandonnerais mon peuple, je m'en éloignerais! Car ce sont tous des adultères, C'est une troupe de perfides.

2 Ach, daß ich eine Herberge hätte in der Wüste, so wollte ich mein Volk verlassen und von ihnen ziehen! Denn es sind eitel Ehebrecher und ein frecher Haufe.
3 Their tongues are bent like a bow to send out false words: they have become strong in the land, but not for good faith: they go on from evil to evil, and they have no knowledge of me, says the Lord.
3 Ils ont la langue tendue comme un arc et lancent le mensonge; Ce n'est pas par la vérité qu'ils sont puissants dans le pays; Car ils vont de méchanceté en méchanceté, Et ils ne me connaissent pas, dit l'Éternel.

3 E hicieron que su lengua, como su arco, tirase mentira; y no se fortalecieron por verdad en la tierra: porque de mal en mal procedieron, y me han desconocido, dice Jehová.
3 Sie schießen mit ihren Zungen eitel Lüge und keine Wahrheit und treiben's mit Gewalt im Lande und gehen von einer Bosheit zur andern und achten mich nicht, spricht der HERR.
4 Let everyone keep watch on his neighbour, and put no faith in any brother: for every brother will certainly be tricking his brother, and every neighbour will go about saying evil.
4 Que chacun se tienne en garde contre son ami, Et qu'on ne se fie à aucun de ses frères; Car tout frère cherche à tromper, Et tout ami répand des calomnies.
4 Bíodh gach aon duine san airdeall ar a chara; ná taobhaigh le do dheartháir, mar go deimhin is forghabhálaí gach deartháir, is cúlghearrthóir dícheallach gach cara.
4 Guárdese cada uno de su compañero, ni en ningún hermano tenga confianza: porque todo hermano engaña con falacia, y todo compañero anda con falsedades.
4 Ein jeglicher hüte sich vor seinem Freunde und traue auch seinem Bruder nicht; denn ein Bruder unterdrückt den andern, und ein Freund verrät den andern.
5 Everyone will make sport of his neighbour with deceit, not saying what is true: their tongues have been trained to say false words; they are twisted, hating to come back.
5 Ils se jouent les uns des autres, Et ne disent point la vérité; Ils exercent leur langue à mentir, Ils s'étudient à faire le mal.

5 Y cada uno engaña á su compañero, y no hablan verdad: enseñaron su lengua á hablar mentira, se ocupan de hacer perversamente.
5 Ein Freund täuscht den andern und reden kein wahres Wort; sie fleißigen sich darauf, wie einer den andern betrüge, und ist ihnen nicht leid, daß sie es ärger machen können.
6 There is wrong on wrong, deceit on deceit; they have given up the knowledge of me, says the Lord.

7 So the Lord of armies has said, See, I will make them soft in the fire and put them to the test; this I will do because of their evil-doing.

8 His tongue is an arrow causing death; the words of his mouth are deceit: he says words of peace to his neighbour, but in his heart he is waiting secretly for him.
8 Leur langue est un trait meurtrier, Ils ne disent que des mensonges; De la bouche ils parlent de paix à leur prochain, Et au fond du coeur ils lui dressent des pièges.

8 Ihre falschen Zungen sind mörderische Pfeile; mit ihrem Munde reden sie freundlich gegen den Nächsten, aber im Herzen lauern sie auf ihn.
9 Am I not to send punishment for these things? says the Lord: will not my soul take payment from such a nation as this?

10 Sur les montagnes je veux pleurer et gémir, Sur les plaines du désert je prononce une complainte; Car elles sont brûlées, personne n'y passe, On n'y entend plus la voix des troupeaux; Les oiseaux du ciel et les bêtes ont pris la fuite, ont disparu. -
10 Ar son na sléibhte tógaigí suas golgháire agus gubha, agus ar son féarach an fhásaigh, caoineadh; óir bánaíodh iad; ní ghabhann aon duine ann, ní chluintear níos mó géimneach na dtréad. Éanlaith an aeir agus na beithígh, theith siad araon, níl siad ann.
10 Sobre los montes levantaré lloro y lamentación, y llanto sobre las moradas del desierto; porque desolados fueron hasta no quedar quien pase, ni oyeron bramido de ganado: desde las aves del cielo y hasta las bestias de la tierra se trasportaron, y se fueron.
10 Ich muß auf den Bergen weinen und heulen und bei den Hürden in der Wüste klagen; denn sie sind so gar verheert, daß niemand da wandelt und man auch nicht ein Vieh schreien hört. Es ist beides, Vögel des Himmels und das Vieh, alles weg.
11 And I will make Jerusalem a mass of broken stones, the living-place of jackals; and I will make the towns of Judah a waste, with no man living there.
11 Je ferai de Jérusalem un monceau de ruines, un repaire de chacals, Et je réduirai les villes de Juda en un désert sans habitants. -

11 Y pondré á Jerusalem en montones, por moradas de culebras; y pondré las ciudades de Judá en asolamiento, que no quede morador.
11 Und ich will Jerusalem zum Steinhaufen und zur Wohnung der Schakale machen und will die Städte Juda's wüst machen, daß niemand darin wohnen soll.
12 Who is the wise man able to see this? who is he to whom the word of the Lord has come, so that he may make it clear? why is the land given to destruction and burned up like a waste place, so that no one goes through?
12 Où est l'homme sage qui comprenne ces choses? Qu'il le dise, celui à qui la bouche de l'Éternel a parlé! Pourquoi le pays est-il détruit, Brûlé comme un désert où personne ne passe?
12 Cé hé an duine críonna a thuigfidh é seo? Cé leis a labhair béal an Tiarna féin le go bhfoilseodh sé: Cad chuige ar scriosadh an tír, agus go ndearnadh fásach di gan siúl aon duine inti?
12 ¿Quién es varón sabio que entienda esto? ¿y á quién habló la boca de Jehová, para que pueda declararlo? ¿Por qué causa la tierra ha perecido, ha sido asolada como desierto, que no hay quien pase?
12 Wer nun weise wäre und ließe es sich zu Herzen gehen und verkündigte, was des HERRN Mund zu ihm sagt, warum das Land verderbt und verheert wird wie eine Wüste, da niemand wandelt!
13 And the Lord said, Because they have given up my law which I put before them, giving no attention to my voice and not being guided by it;

18 Y dense prisa, y levanten llanto sobre nosotros, y córranse nuestros ojos en lágrimas, y nuestros párpados en aguas se destilen.
18 daß sie eilend um uns klagen, daß unsre Augen von Tränen rinnen und unsre Augenlider von Wasser fließen,
19 For a sound of weeping goes up from Zion, a cry, How has destruction come on us? we are overcome with shame because we have gone away from our land; he has sent us out from our house.
19 Car des cris lamentables se font entendre de Sion: Eh quoi! nous sommes détruits! Nous sommes couverts de honte! Il nous faut abandonner le pays! On a renversé nos demeures! -
19 Sea, tá an caoineadh le clos as Síón, ‘Cé mar atáimid sladta! Cé mar atáimid náirithe go deo! Óir tá orainn imeacht as an tír, agus slán a fhágáil ag teach agus treabh!’ ”
19 Porque voz de endecha fué oída de Sión: ¡Cómo hemos sido destruídos! en gran manera hemos sido confundidos. ¿Por qué dejamos la tierra? ¿por qué nos han echado de sí nuestras moradas?
19 daß man ein klägliches Geschrei höre zu Zion: Ach, wie sind wir so gar verstört und zu Schanden geworden! Wir müssen das Land räumen; denn sie haben unsere Wohnungen geschleift.
20 But even now, give ear to the word of the Lord, O you women; let your ears be open to the word of his mouth, training your daughters to give cries of sorrow, everyone teaching her neighbour a song of grief.
20 Femmes, écoutez la parole de l'Éternel, Et que votre oreille saisisse ce que dit sa bouche! Apprenez à vos filles des chants lugubres, Enseignez-vous des complaintes les unes aux autres!

20 So höret nun, ihr Weiber, des HERRN Wort und nehmet zu Ohren seines Mundes Rede; lehret eure Töchter weinen, und eine lehre die andere klagen:
21 For death has come up into our windows, forcing its way into our great houses; cutting off the children in the streets and the young men in the wide places.
21 Car la mort est montée par nos fenêtres, Elle a pénétré dans nos palais; Elle extermine les enfants dans la rue, Les jeunes gens sur les places.

21 Porque la muerte ha subido por nuestras ventanas, ha entrado en nuestros palacios; para talar los niños de las calles, los mancebos de las plazas.
21 Der Tod ist zu unseren Fenstern eingefallen und in unsere Paläste gekommen, die Kinder zu würgen auf der Gasse und die Jünglinge auf der Straße.
22 The bodies of men will be falling like waste on the open fields, and like grain dropped by the grain-cutter, and no one will take them up.

22 Habla: Así ha dicho Jehová: Los cuerpos de los hombres muertos caerán como estiércol sobre la haz del campo, y como manojo tras el segador, que no hay quien lo recoja.
22 So spricht der HERR: Sage: Der Menschen Leichname sollen liegen wie der Mist auf dem Felde und wie Garben hinter dem Schnitter, die niemand sammelt.
23 This is the word of the Lord: Let not the wise man take pride in his wisdom, or the strong man in his strength, or the man of wealth in his wealth:
23 Ainsi parle l'Éternel: Que le sage ne se glorifie pas de sa sagesse, Que le fort ne se glorifie pas de sa force, Que le riche ne se glorifie pas de sa richesse.

23 Así dijo Jehová: No se alabe el sabio en su sabiduría, ni en su valentía se alabe el valiente, ni el rico se alabe en sus riquezas.
23 So spricht der HERR: Ein Weiser rühme sich nicht seiner Weisheit, ein Starker rühme sich nicht seiner Stärke, ein Reicher rühme sich nicht seines Reichtums;
24 But if any man has pride, let it be in this, that he has the wisdom to have knowledge of me, that I am the Lord, working mercy, giving true decisions, and doing righteousness in the earth: for in these things I have delight, says the Lord.
24 Mais que celui qui veut se glorifier se glorifie D'avoir de l'intelligence et de me connaître, De savoir que je suis l'Éternel, Qui exerce la bonté, le droit et la justice sur la terre; Car c'est à cela que je prends plaisir, dit l'Éternel.
24 Ach an té a dhéanfadh glóir, déanfadh sé glóir as seo: go dtuigeann agus go n‑aithníonn sé mise. Óir is mé an Tiarna, rialaím ar talamh, le cineáltas, le ceart agus le fíréantacht; sea, is iontu seo atá mo dhúil - an Tiarna a labhraíonn.”
24 Mas alábese en esto el que se hubiere de alabar: en entenderme y conocerme, que yo soy Jehová, que hago misericordia, juicio, y justicia en la tierra: porque estas cosas quiero, dice Jehová.
24 sondern wer sich rühmen will, der rühme sich des, daß er mich wisse und kenne, daß ich der HERR bin, der Barmherzigkeit, Recht und Gerechtigkeit übt auf Erden; denn solches gefällt mir, spricht der HERR.
25 See, the day is coming, says the Lord, when I will send punishment on all those who have circumcision in the flesh;
25 Voici, les jours viennent, dit l'Éternel, Où je châtierai tous les circoncis qui ne le sont pas de coeur,

25 He aquí que vienen días, dice Jehová, y visitaré sobre todo circuncidado, y sobre todo incircunciso:
25 Siehe, es kommt die Zeit, spricht der HERR, daß ich heimsuchen werde alle, die Beschnittenen mit den Unbeschnittenen:
26 On Egypt and on Judah and on Edom and on the children of Ammon and on Moab and on all who have the ends of their hair cut, who are living in the waste land: for all these nations and all the people of Israel are without circumcision in their hearts.
26 L'Égypte, Juda, Édom, les enfants d'Ammon, Moab, Tous ceux qui se rasent les coins de la barbe, Ceux qui habitent dans le désert; Car toutes les nations sont incirconcises, Et toute la maison d'Israël a le coeur incirconcis.
26 An Éigipt, Iúdá, Clann Amón, Móáb agus na Bearracháin uile a chónaíonn san fhásach. Óir tá na ciníocha seo uile, agus fós teach Iosrael go hiomlán, gan timpeallghearradh sa chroí.”
26 A Egipto, y á Judá, y á Edom, y á los hijos de Ammón y de Moab, y á todos los arrinconados en el postrer rincón, que moran en el desierto; porque todas las gentes tienen prepucio, y toda la casa de Israel tiene prepucio en el corazón.
26 Ägypten, Juda, Edom, die Kinder Ammon, Moab und alle, die das Haar rundumher abschneiden, die in der Wüste wohnen. Denn alle Heiden haben unbeschnittenen Vorhaut; aber das ganze Israel hat ein unbeschnittenes Herz.
