1 Now there was a long war between Saul's people and David's people; and David became stronger and stronger, but those on Saul's side became more and more feeble.

3 And the second, Chileab, whose mother was Abigail, the wife of Nabal the Carmelite; and the third, Absalom, son of Maacah, the daughter of Talmai, king of Geshur;

5 And the sixth, Ithream, whose mother was David's wife Eglah. These were the sons of David, whose birth took place in Hebron.

6 Now while there was war between Saul's people and David's people, Abner was making himself strong among the supporters of Saul.

7 Now Saul had among his wives a woman named Rizpah, the daughter of Aiah: and Ish-bosheth said to Abner, Why have you taken my father's wife?
7 Or Saül avait eu une concubine, nommée Ritspa, fille d'Ajja. Et Isch Boscheth dit à Abner: Pourquoi es-tu venu vers la concubine de mon père?

8 And Abner was very angry at the words of Ish-bosheth, and he said, Am I a dog's head of Judah? I am this day doing all in my power for the cause of your father Saul and for his brothers and his friends, and have not given you up into the hands of David, and now you say I have done wrong with a woman.
8 Abner fut très irrité des paroles d'Isch Boscheth, et il répondit: Suis-je une tête de chien, qui tienne pour Juda? Je fais aujourd'hui preuve de bienveillance envers la maison de Saül, ton père, envers ses frères et ses amis, je ne t'ai pas livré entre les mains de David, et c'est aujourd'hui que tu me reproches une faute avec cette femme?
8 Chuir caint seo Ís Bál cuthach feirge ar Aibnéar. “An ceann madra as Iúdá mé,” ar sé. “Seo mé anois ar mo dhícheall ar mhaithe le teaghlach Shóil, d'athair, a dheartháireacha, agus a chairde, gan tú a thabhairt i lámha Dháiví, agus anois seo tú do mo lochtú i dtaobh mná!
8 Y enojóse Abner en gran manera por las palabras de Is-boseth, y dijo: ¿Soy yo cabeza de perros respecto de Judá? Yo he hecho hoy misericordia con la casa de Saúl tu padre, con sus hermanos, y con sus amigos, y no te he entregado en las manos de David: ¿y tú me haces hoy cargo del pecado de esta mujer?
8 Da ward Abner sehr zornig über die Worte Is-Boseths und sprach: Bin ich denn ein Hundskopf, der ich wider Juda an dem Hause Sauls, deines Vaters, und an seinen Brüdern und Freunden Barmherzigkeit tue und habe dich nicht in Davids Hände gegeben? Und du rechnest mir heute eine Missetat zu um ein Weib?
9 May God's punishment be on Abner, if I do not for David as the Lord in his oath has said,
9 Que Dieu traite Abner dans toute sa rigueur, si je n'agis pas avec David selon ce que l'Éternel a juré à David,
9 Go ndéana Dia a leithéid seo le hAibnéar, agus a thuilleadh de bhreis air, mura gcuire mé i gcrích do Dháiví gach ar mhionnaigh an Tiarna a dhéanfadh sé dhó -
9 Así haga Dios á Abner y así le añada, si como ha jurado Jehová á David no hiciere yo así con él,
9 Gott tue Abner dies und das, wenn ich nicht tue, wie der HERR dem David geschworen hat,
10 And if I do not take away the kingdom from the family of Saul and make David ruler over Israel and Judah from Dan as far as Beer-sheba!
10 en disant qu'il ferait passer la royauté de la maison de Saül dans la sienne, et qu'il établirait le trône de David sur Israël et sur Juda depuis Dan jusqu'à Beer Schéba.
10 an ríocht a bhaint de theaghlach Shóil agus ríchathaoir Dháiví a chur os cionn Iosrael agus Iúdá, ó Dhán go Béar Seaba.”
10 Trasladando el reino de la casa de Saúl, y confirmando el trono de David sobre Israel y sobre Judá, desde Dan hasta Beer-sebah.
10 daß das Königreich vom Hause Saul genommen werde und der Stuhl Davids aufgerichtet werde über Israel und Juda von Dan bis gen Beer-Seba.
11 And so great was Ish-bosheth's fear of Abner that he was not able to say a word in answer.

12 And Abner sent men to David at Hebron, saying, Make an agreement with me, and I will give you my support in getting all Israel on your side.
12 Abner envoya des messagers à David pour lui dire de sa part: A qui est le pays? Fais alliance avec moi, et voici, ma main t'aidera pour tourner vers toi tout Israël.
12 Chuir Aibnéar teachtairí go Dáiví [i Heabrón] á rá: “Cé leis an tír? Déan do chonradh liom agus tabharfaidh mé mo chabhair duit chun Iosrael uile a thabhairt ar do thaobh.”
12 Y envió Abner mensajeros á David de su parte, diciendo: ¿Cúya es la tierra? Y que le dijesen: Haz alianza conmigo, y he aquí que mi mano será contigo para volver á ti á todo Israel.
12 Und Abner sandte Boten zu David für sich und ließ ihm sagen: Wes ist das Land? Und sprach: Mache einen Bund mit mir; siehe, meine Hand soll mit dir sein, daß ich zu dir kehre das ganze Israel.
13 And he said, It is well; I will make an agreement with you, but on one condition, which is, that when you come before me, Saul's daughter Michal is to come with you; till she comes you will not see my face.
13 Il répondit: Bien! je ferai alliance avec toi; mais je te demande une chose, c'est que tu ne voies point ma face, à moins que tu n'amènes d'abord Mical, fille de Saül, en venant auprès de moi.
13 “Tá go maith,” arsa Dáiví, “déanfaidh mé conradh leat. Ach leagfaidh mé aon acht amháin ort; ní scaoilfear isteach i mo láthair thú mura dtugann tú leat Míceal, iníon Shóil, agus tú ag teacht i mo láthair.”
13 Y David dijo: Bien; yo haré contigo alianza: mas una cosa te pido, y es, que no me vengas á ver sin que primero traigas á Michâl la hija de Saúl, cuando vinieres á verme.
13 Er sprach: Wohl, ich will einen Bund mit dir machen. Aber eins bitte ich von dir, daß du mein Angesicht nicht sehest, du bringst denn zuvor Michal, Sauls Tochter, wenn du kommst, mein Angesicht zu sehen.
14 And David sent men to Saul's son Ish-bosheth, saying, Give me back Michal, my wife, whom I made mine for the price of the private parts of a hundred Philistines.
14 Et David envoya des messagers à Isch Boscheth, fils de Saül, pour lui dire: Donne-moi ma femme Mical, que j'ai fiancée pour cent prépuces de Philistins.
14 Chuir Dáiví teachtairí ansin go Ís Bál, mac Shóil: “Tabhair ar ais dom mo bhean Míceal a bhuaigh mé le céad forchraiceann de chuid na bhFilistíneach.”
14 Después de esto envió David mensajeros á Is-boseth hijo de Saúl, diciendo: Restitúyeme á mi mujer Michâl, la cual yo desposé conmigo por cien prepucios de Filisteos.
14 Auch sandte David Boten zu Is-Boseth, dem Sohn Sauls, und ließ ihm sagen: Gib mir mein Weib Michal, die ich mir verlobt habe mit hundert Vorhäuten der Philister.
15 So Ish-bosheth sent and took her from her husband Paltiel, the son of Laish.
15 Isch Boscheth la fit prendre chez son mari Palthiel, fils de Laïsch.
15 Chuir Ís Bál fios uirthi dá bhrí sin á breith ó Phailtiéil mac Laís.
15 Entonces Is-boseth envió, y quitóla á su marido Paltiel, hijo de Lais.
15 Is-Boseth sandte hin und ließ sie nehmen von dem Mann Paltiel, dem Sohn des Lais.
16 And her husband went with her as far as Bahurim, weeping while he went. Then Abner said to him, Go back. And he went back.
16 Et son mari la suivit en pleurant jusqu'à Bachurim. Alors Abner lui dit: Va, retourne-t'en! Et il s'en retourna.
16 Chuir a fear chun bóthair ina teannta agus lean í agus na deora leis chomh fada le Bachuraím. Ansin dúirt Aibnéar leis: “Imigh leat ar ais,” agus rinne.
16 Y su marido fué con ella, siguiéndola y llorando hasta Bahurim. Y díjole Abner: Anda, vuélvete. Entonces él se volvió.
16 Und ihr Mann ging mit ihr und weinte hinter ihr bis gen Bahurim. Da sprach Abner zu ihm: Kehre um und gehe hin! Und er kehrte um.
17 Then Abner had a talk with the chief men of Israel, saying, In the past it was your desire to make David your king: so now, do it:
17 Abner eut un entretien avec les anciens d'Israël, et leur dit: Vous désiriez autrefois d'avoir David pour roi;

17 Y habló Abner con los ancianos de Israel, diciendo: Ayer y antes procurabais que David fuese rey sobre vosotros;
17 Und Abner hatte eine Rede mit den Ältesten in Israel und sprach: Ihr habt schon längst nach David getrachtet, daß er König wäre über euch.
18 For the Lord has said of David, By the hand of my servant David I will make my people Israel safe from the Philistines, and from all who are against them.
18 établissez-le maintenant, car l'Éternel a dit de lui: C'est par David, mon serviteur, que je délivrerai mon peuple d'Israël de la main des Philistins et de la main de tous ses ennemis.

18 Ahora, pues, hacedlo; porque Jehová ha hablado á David, diciendo: Por la mano de mi siervo David libraré á mi pueblo Israel de mano de los Filisteos, y de mano de todos sus enemigos.
18 So tut's nun; denn der HERR hat von David gesagt: Ich will mein Volk Israel erretten durch die Hand Davids, meines Knechtes, von der Philister Hand und aller seiner Feinde Hand.
19 And Abner said the same things to Benjamin: and he went to David in Hebron to make clear to him what seemed good to Israel and to all the people of Benjamin.
19 Abner parla aussi à Benjamin, et il alla rapporter aux oreilles de David à Hébron ce qu'avaient résolu Israël et toute la maison de Benjamin.
19 Labhair Aibnéar chomh maith le muintir Bhiniáimin, agus chuaigh sé ansin go Heabrón, lena raibh socair ag Iosrael agus teaghlach Bhiniáimin go léir a rá le Dáiví.
19 Y habló también Abner á los de Benjamín: y fué también Abner á Hebrón á decir á David todo el parecer de los de Israel y de toda la casa de Benjamín.
19 Auch redete Abner vor den Ohren Benjamins und ging auch hin, zu reden vor den Ohren Davids zu Hebron alles, was Israel und dem ganzen Hause Benjamin wohl gefiel.
20 So Abner, with twenty men, came to Hebron, to David. And David made a feast for Abner and the men who were with him.
20 Il arriva auprès de David à Hébron, accompagné de vingt hommes; et David fit un festin à Abner et à ceux qui étaient avec lui.
20 Tháinig Aibnéar agus fiche fear ina theannta go Dáiví i Heabrón, agus bhí féasta ag Dáiví in onóir Aibnéar agus a chomplachta.
20 Vino pues Abner á David en Hebrón, y con él veinte hombres: y David hizo banquete á Abner y á los que con él habían venido.

21 And Abner said to David, Now I will go, and make all Israel come to my lord the king, so that they may make an agreement with you, and your kingdom may be as wide as your heart's desire. Then David sent Abner away and he went in peace.
21 Abner dit à David: Je me lèverai, et je partirai pour rassembler tout Israël vers mon seigneur le roi; ils feront alliance avec toi, et tu règneras entièrement selon ton désir. David renvoya Abner, qui s'en alla en paix.
21 Dúirt Aibnéar ansin le Dáiví: “Ní mór dom a bheith ag cur díom; táim chun Iosrael go léir a chruinniú go dtí mo thiarna, an rí. 21 Y dijo Abner á David: Yo me levantaré é iré, y juntaré á mi señor el rey á todo Israel, para que hagan contigo alianza, y tú reines como deseas. David despidió luego á Abner, y él se fué en paz.
21 Und Abner sprach zu David: Ich will mich aufmachen und hingehen, daß ich das ganze Israel zu meinem Herrn, dem König, sammle und daß sie einen Bund mit dir machen, auf daß du König seist, wie es deine Seele begehrt. Also ließ David Abner von sich, daß er hinginge mit Frieden.
22 Now the servants of David and Joab had been out attacking a band of armed men, and they came back with a great store of goods taken in the fight: but Abner was no longer in Hebron with David, for he had sent him away and he had gone in peace.
22 Voici, Joab et les gens de David revinrent d'une excursion, et amenèrent avec eux un grand butin. Abner n'était plus auprès de David à Hébron, car David l'avait renvoyé, et il s'en était allé en paix.

22 Y he aquí los siervos de David y Joab, que venían del campo, y traían consigo gran presa. Mas Abner no estaba con David en Hebrón, que ya lo había él despedido, y él se había ido en paz.
22 Und siehe, die Knechte Davids und Joab kamen von einem Streifzuge und brachten mit sich große Beute. Abner aber war nicht mehr bei David zu Hebron, sondern er hatte ihn von sich gelassen, daß er mit Frieden weggegangen war.
23 When Joab and his men came, news was given them that Abner, the son of Ner, had come to the king, who had let him go away again in peace.
23 Lorsque Joab et toute sa troupe arrivèrent, on fit à Joab ce rapport: Abner, fils de Ner, est venu auprès du roi, qui l'a renvoyé, et il s'en est allé en paix.
23 Nuair a tháinig Ióáb agus an t‑arm go léir a bhí in éineacht leis, dúradh le Ióáb: “Bhí Aibnéar mac Néar ar thuairisc an rí, agus scaoil sé leis agus d'imigh sé faoi shíocháin.”
23 Y luego que llegó Joab y todo el ejército que con él estaba, fué dado aviso á Joab, diciendo: Abner hijo de Ner ha venido al rey, y él le ha despedido, y se fué en paz.
23 Da aber Joab und das ganze Heer mit ihm war gekommen, ward ihm angesagt, daß Abner, der Sohn Ners, zum König gekommen war und hatte er ihn von sich gelassen, daß er mit Frieden war weggegangen.
24 Then Joab came to the king, and said, What have you done? when Abner came to you why did you send him away and let him go?
24 Joab se rendit chez le roi, et dit: Qu'as-tu fait? Voici, Abner est venu vers toi; pourquoi l'as-tu renvoyé et laissé partir?
24 Chuaigh Ióáb ansin go dtí an rí: “Cad tá déanta agat?” ar sé. “Tháinig Aibnéar chugat agus ar lig tú dó imeacht gan cur isteach air? Cén fáth?
24 Entonces Joab vino al rey, y díjole: ¿Qué has hecho? He aquí habíase venido Abner á ti; ¿por qué pues lo dejaste que se fuése?
24 Da ging Joab zum König hinein und sprach: Was hast du getan? Siehe, Abner ist zu dir gekommen; warum hast du ihn von dir gelassen, daß er ist weggegangen?
25 Is it not clear to you that Abner, the son of Ner, came with deceit to get knowledge of your going out and your coming in and of all you are doing?
25 Tu connais Abner, fils de Ner! c'est pour te tromper qu'il est venu, pour épier tes démarches, et pour savoir tout ce que tu fais.
25 Nach bhfuil aithne agat ar Aibnéar mac Néar? Tháinig sé chun bob a bhualadh ort, chun gach cor a chuireann tú díot a fháil amach agus fios do ghnóthaí go léir a fháil.”
25 ¿Sabes tú que Abner hijo de Ner ha venido para engañarte, y á saber tu salida y tu entrada, y por entender todo lo que tú haces?
25 Kennst du Abner, den Sohn Ners, nicht? Denn er ist gekommen, dich zu überreden, daß er erkennt deinen Ausgang und Eingang und erführe alles, was du tust.
26 And when Joab had come out from David, he sent men after Abner, and they overtook him at the water-spring of Sirah, and made him come back with them: but David had no knowledge of it.
26 Et Joab, après avoir quitté David, envoya sur les traces d'Abner des messagers, qui le ramenèrent depuis la citerne de Sira: David n'en savait rien.
26 D'imigh Ióáb ó láthair Dháiví agus chuir sé teachtairí i ndiaidh Aibnéar agus thugadarsan leo ar ais é ó Thobar Siorá gan fhios do Dháiví.
26 Y saliéndose Joab de con David, envió mensajeros tras Abner, los cuales le volvieron desde el pozo de Sira, sin saberlo David.
26 Und da Joab von David ausging, sandte er Boten Abner nach, daß sie ihn wiederum holten von Bor-Hassira; und David wußte nichts darum.
27 And when Abner was back in Hebron, Joab took him on one side by the doorway of the town to have a word with him quietly, and there he gave him a wound in the stomach, causing his death in payment for the death of his brother Asahel.
27 Lorsque Abner fut de retour à Hébron, Joab le tira à l'écart au milieu de la porte, comme pour lui parler en secret, et là il le frappa au ventre et le tua, pour venger la mort d'Asaël, son frère.
27 Nuair a d'fhill Aibnéar go Heabrón thug Ióáb i leataobh cois an gheata é mar dhea go labhródh sé os íseal leis, agus sháigh sé sa bholg é. Fuair sé bás mar sin in éiric Asáhael, deartháir Ióáb.
27 Y como Abner volvió á Hebrón, apartólo Joab al medio de la puerta, hablando con él blandamente, y allí le hirió por la quinta costilla, á causa de la muerte de Asael su hermano, y murió.
27 Als nun Abner wieder gen Hebron kam, führte ihn Joab mitten unter das Tor, daß er heimlich mit ihm redete, und stach ihn daselbst in den Bauch, daß er starb, um seines Bruders Asahel Bluts willen.
28 And when David had word of it he said, May I and my kingdom be clear for ever in the eyes of the Lord from the blood of Abner, the son of Ner:
28 David l'apprit ensuite, et il dit: Je suis à jamais innocent, devant l'Éternel, du sang d'Abner, fils de Ner, et mon royaume l'est aussi.
28 Nuair a chuala Dáiví ina thaobh ina dhiaidh sin, dúirt sé: “Táimse agus mo ríocht neamhchiontach go deo i bhfuil Aibnéar mhic Néar i láthair an Tiarna.
28 Cuando David supo después esto, dijo: Limpio estoy yo y mi reino, por Jehová, para siempre, de la sangre de Abner hijo de Ner.
28 Da das David hernach erfuhr, sprach er: Ich bin unschuldig und mein Königreich vor dem HERRN ewiglich an dem Blut Abners, des Sohnes Ners;
29 May it come on the head of Joab and all his father's family: among the men of Joab's family may there ever be some who are diseased or lepers, or who do the work of women, or are put to the sword, or are wasted from need of food!
29 Que ce sang retombe sur Joab et sur toute la maison de son père! Qu'il y ait toujours quelqu'un dans la maison de Joab, qui soit atteint d'un flux ou de la lèpre, ou qui s'appuie sur un bâton, ou qui tombe par l'épée, ou qui manque de pain!
29 Go dtaga sí sa mhullach ar Ióáb agus ar theaghlach a athar go léir! Ná raibh teaghlach Ióáb choíche gan daoine le braon ar sileadh, nó le lobhra, nó gan ar a gcumas ach an choigeal a choinneáil, nó iad ag titim ar lár le faobhar claímh, nó ar an ngannchuid bia!”
29 Caiga sobre la cabeza de Joab, y sobre toda la casa de su padre; que nunca falte de la casa de Joab quien padezca flujo, ni leproso, ni quien ande con báculo, ni quien muera á cuchillo, ni quien tenga falta de pan.
29 es falle aber auf das Haupt Joabs und auf seines Vaters ganzes Haus, und müsse nicht aufhören im Hause Joabs, der einen Eiterfluß und Aussatz habe und am Stabe gehe und durchs Schwert falle und an Brot Mangel habe.
30 So Joab and Abishai his brother put Abner to death, because he had put to death their brother Asahel in the fight at Gibeon.
30 Ainsi Joab et Abischaï, son frère, tuèrent Abner, parce qu'il avait donné la mort à Asaël, leur frère, à Gabaon, dans la bataille.

30 Joab pues y Abisai su hermano mataron á Abner, porque él había muerto á Asael, hermano de ellos en la batalla de Gabaón.
30 Also erwürgten Joab und Abisai Abner, darum daß er ihren Bruder Asahel getötet hatte im Streit zu Gibeon.
31 And David said to Joab and all the people who were with him, Go in grief and put haircloth about you, in sorrow for Abner. And King David went after the dead body.
31 David dit à Joab et à tout le peuple qui était avec lui: Déchirez vos vêtements, ceignez-vous de sacs, et pleurez devant Abner! Et le roi David marcha derrière le cercueil.
31 Dúirt Dáiví ansin le Ióáb agus leis na saighdiúirí go léir a bhí ina theannta: “Stróicigí bhur gcuid éadaigh, cuirigí sacéadach umaibh, agus déanaigí caoineadh os comhair Aibnéar.” Shiúil Dáiví i ndiaidh an chróchair.
31 Entonces dijo David á Joab, y á todo el pueblo que con él estaba: Romped vuestros vestidos, y ceñíos de sacos, y haced duelo delante de Abner. Y el rey iba detrás del féretro.
31 David aber sprach zu Joab und allem Volk, das mit ihm war: Zerreißt eure Kleider und gürtet Säcke um euch und tragt Leid um Abner! Und der König ging dem Sarge nach.
32 And they put Abner's body to rest in Hebron; and the king and all the people were weeping loudly by the resting-place of Abner's body.
32 On enterra Abner à Hébron. Le roi éleva la voix et pleura sur le sépulcre d'Abner, et tout le peuple pleura.
32 Rinneadar Aibnéar a adhlacadh i Heabrón, agus ghoil an rí go hard ar uaigh Aibnéar agus ghoil an pobal go léir chomh maith.
32 Y sepultaron á Abner en Hebrón: y alzando el rey su voz, lloró junto al sepulcro de Abner; y lloró también todo el pueblo.
32 Und da sie Abner begruben zu Hebron, hob der König seine Stimme auf und weinte bei dem Grabe Abners, und weinte auch alles Volk.
33 And the king made a song of grief for Abner and said, Was the death of Abner to be like the death of a foolish man?
33 Le roi fit une complainte sur Abner, et dit: Abner devait-il mourir comme meurt un criminel?
33 Mar seo leanas a chaoin an rí Aibnéar: “Ar dhual d'Aibnéar bás an amadáin? Ní raibh cuibhreach ar a lámha ná slabhra ar a chosa.
33 Y endechando el rey al mismo Abner, decía: ¿Murío Abner como muere un villano?
33 Und der König klagte um Abner und sprach: Mußte Abner sterben, wie ein Ruchloser stirbt?
34 Your hands were free, your feet were not chained: like the downfall of a man before evil men, so was your fall. And the weeping of the people over him went on again.
34 Tu n'avais ni les mains liées, ni les pieds dans les chaînes! Tu es tombé comme on tombe devant des méchants.
34 Thit tú faoi mar a thitfeadh duine faoi láimh na gcoirpeach.” Agus chaoin an pobal go léir aris é.
34 Tus manos no estaban atadas, ni tus pies ligados con grillos: Caíste como los que caen delante de malos hombres. Y todo el pueblo volvió á llorar sobre él.
34 Deine Hände waren nicht gebunden, deine Füße waren nicht in Fesseln gesetzt; du bist gefallen, wie man vor bösen Buben fällt. Da beweinte ihn alles Volk noch mehr.
35 And the people came to make David take food, while it was still day, but David with an oath said, May God's punishment be on me if I take a taste of bread or any other thing till the sun has gone down!
35 Et tout le peuple pleura de nouveau sur Abner. Tout le peuple s'approcha de David pour lui faire prendre quelque nourriture, pendant qu'il était encore jour; mais David jura, en disant: Que Dieu me traite dans toute sa rigueur, si je goûte du pain ou quoi que ce soit avant le coucher du soleil!
35 Bhí an pobal go léir ag iarraidh a áiteamh ar Dháiví bia a chaitheamh agus é fós ina lá, ach thug Dáiví mionn á rá: “Go ndéana Dia a leithéid seo agus a thuilleadh fós liom má bhlaisim arán nó aon rud eile go rachaidh an ghrian faoi!”
35 Y como todo el pueblo viniese á dar de comer pan á David siendo aún de día, David juró, diciendo: Así me haga Dios y así me añada, si antes que se ponga el sol gustare yo pan, ú otra cualquier cosa.
35 Da nun alles Volk hineinkam, mit David zu essen, da es noch hoch am Tage war, schwur David und sprach: Gott tue mir dies und das, wo ich Brot esse oder etwas koste, ehe die Sonne untergeht.
36 And all the people took note of it and were pleased: like everything the king did, it was pleasing to the people.
36 Cela fut connu et approuvé de tout le peuple, qui trouva bon tout ce qu'avait fait le roi.
36 Thug na daoine go léir é sin faoi deara agus thaitin sé leo, dála gach rud eile dá ndearna an rí, agus a thaitin leis an bpobal go léir, go deimhin.
36 Súpolo así todo el pueblo, y plugo en sus ojos; porque todo lo que el rey hacía parecía bien en ojos de todo el pueblo.
36 Und alles Volk erkannte es, und gefiel ihnen auch wohl, wie alles, was der König tat, dem ganzen Volke wohl gefiel;
37 So it was clear to Israel and to all the people on that day that the king was not responsible for the death of Abner, the son of Ner.
37 Tout le peuple et tout Israël comprirent en ce jour que ce n'était pas par ordre du roi qu'Abner, fils de Ner, avait été tué.
37 Thuig an pobal agus thuig Iosrael go léir an lá sin nach raibh baint ag an rí le bás Aibnéar mac Néar.
37 Y todo el pueblo y todo Israel entendieron aquel día, que no había venido del rey que Abner hijo de Ner muriese.
37 und alles Volk und ganz Israel merkten des Tages, daß es nicht vom König war, daß Abner, der Sohn Ners, getötet ward.
38 And the king said to his servants, Do you not see that a chief and a great man has come to his end today in Israel?
38 Le roi dit à ses serviteurs: Ne savez-vous pas qu'un chef, qu'un grand homme, est tombé aujourd'hui en Israël?
38 Dúirt an rí lena oifigigh: “Nach eol daoibh gur thit prionsa agus fear mór le rá in Iosrael inniu?
38 Y el rey dijo á sus siervos: ¿No sabéis que ha caído hoy en Israel un príncipe, y grande?
38 Und der König sprach zu seinen Knechten: Wisset ihr nicht, daß auf diesen Tag ein Fürst und Großer gefallen ist in Israel?
39 While I, though I am crowned king, have little strength, and these men, the sons of Zeruiah, are out of my control: may the Lord give to the evil-doer the reward of his evil-doing!
39 Je suis encore faible, quoique j'aie reçu l'onction royale; et ces gens, les fils de Tseruja, sont trop puissants pour moi. Que l'Éternel rende selon sa méchanceté à celui qui fait le mal!
39 Cé gur ungadh i mo rí mé, táim fann lag faoi láthair; tá na fir úd, clann mhac Zarúá, róbhorb dom. Go gcúití an Tiarna an t‑olc le fear a dhéanta de réir a dhrochbhirt!”
39 Que yo ahora aún soy tierno rey ungido; y estos hombres, los hijos de Sarvia, muy duros me son: Jehová dé el pago al que mal hace, conforme á su malicia.
39 Ich aber bin noch zart und erst gesalbt zum König. Aber die Männer, die Kinder der Zeruja, sind mir verdrießlich. Der HERR vergelte dem, der Böses tut, nach seiner Bosheit.
