1 Now the men of Israel had taken an oath in Mizpah, saying, Not one of us will give his daughter as a wife to Benjamin.
1 Les hommes d'Israël avaient juré à Mitspa, en disant: Aucun de nous ne donnera sa fille pour femme à un Benjamite.
1 Thug fir Iosrael an mionn seo i Mizpeá: “Ní tabharfaidh aon duine againn a iníon le pósadh do Bhiniáimin.”
1 Y Los varones de Israel habían jurado en Mizpa, diciendo: Ninguno de nosotros dará su hija á los de Benjamín por mujer.
1 Aber die Männer Israels hatten zu Mizpa geschworen und gesagt: Niemand soll seine Tochter den Benjaminitern zum Weib geben.
2 And the people came to Beth-el, waiting there till evening before God, and gave themselves up to bitter weeping.
2 Le peuple vint à Béthel, et il y resta devant Dieu jusqu'au soir. Ils élevèrent la voix, ils versèrent d'abondantes larmes,
2 Chuaigh an pobal go Béitéil agus d'fhan ann go tráthnóna, ina suí i láthair Dé ag osnaíl agus ag gol go géar.
2 Y vino el pueblo á la casa de Dios, y estuviéronse allí hasta la tarde delante de Dios; y alzando su voz hicieron gran llanto, y dijeron:
2 Und das Volk kam gen Beth-El und blieb da bis zum Abend vor Gott, und sie hoben auf ihre Stimme und weinten sehr
3 And they said, O Lord, the God of Israel, why has this fate come on Israel, that today one tribe has been cut off from Israel?
3 et ils dirent: O Éternel, Dieu d'Israël, pourquoi est-il arrivé en Israël qu'il manque aujourd'hui une tribu d'Israël?
3 Dúradar: “A Thiarna, a Dhia Iosrael, cén fáth a mbeadh sé i ndán d'Iosrael ceann dá threibheanna a chailleadh inniu?”
3 Oh Jehová Dios de Israel, ¿por qué ha sucedido esto en Israel, que falte hoy de Israel una tribu?
3 und sprachen: O HERR, Gott von Israel, warum ist das geschehen in Israel, daß heute Israel um einen Stamm kleiner geworden ist?
4 Then on the day after, the people got up early and made an altar there, offering burned offerings and peace-offerings.
4 Le lendemain, le peuple se leva de bon matin; ils bâtirent là un autel, et ils offrirent des holocaustes et des sacrifices d'actions de grâces.
4 Lá arna mhárach, d'éirigh an pobal go moch agus thógadar altóir ann, agus d'ofráladar íobairtí uileloiscthe agus íobairtí comaoineach.
4 Y al día siguiente el pueblo se levantó de mañana, y edificaron allí altar, y ofrecieron holocaustos y pacíficos.
4 Des andern Morgens machte sich das Volk früh auf und baute da einen Altar und opferte Brandopfer und Dankopfer.
5 And the children of Israel said, Who is there among all the tribes of Israel, who did not come up to the Lord at the meeting of all Israel? For they had taken a great oath that whoever did not come up to Mizpah to the Lord was to be put to death.
5 Les enfants d'Israël dirent: Quel est celui d'entre toutes les tribus d'Israël qui n'est pas monté à l'assemblée devant l'Éternel? Car on avait fait un serment solennel contre quiconque ne monterait pas vers l'Éternel à Mitspa, on avait dit: Il sera puni de mort.
5 Dúirt clann Iosrael ansin: “Cé acu de threibheanna Iosrael go léir nár tháinig aníos chun an tionóil i láthair an Tiarna?” Óir bhí an mionn sollúnta tugtha acu ag bagairt báis ar aon duine nach dtiocfadh aníos i láthair an Tiarna i Mizpeá.
5 Y dijeron los hijos de Israel: ¿Quién de todas las tribus de Israel no subió á la reunión cerca de Jehová? Porque se había hecho gran juramento contra el que no subiese á Jehová en Mizpa, diciendo: Sufrirá muerte.
5 Und die Kinder Israel sprachen: Wer ist irgend von den Stämmen Israels, der nicht mit der Gemeinde ist heraufgekommen zum HERRN? Denn es war ein großer Eid geschehen, daß, wer nicht hinaufkäme zum HERRN gen Mizpa, der sollte des Todes sterben.
6 And the children of Israel were moved with pity for Benjamin their brother, saying, Today one tribe has been cut off from Israel.
6 Les enfants d'Israël éprouvaient du repentir au sujet de Benjamin, leur frère, et ils disaient: Aujourd'hui une tribu a été retranchée d'Israël.
6 Bhí trua ag clann Iosrael do Bhiniáimin a mbráthair agus dúradar: “Tá treibh gearrtha chun siúil d'Iosrael inniu.
6 Y los hijos de Israel se arrepintieron á causa de Benjamín su hermano, y dijeron: Una tribu es hoy cortada de Israel.
6 Und es reute die Kinder Israel über Benjamin, ihre Brüder, und sie sprachen: Heute ist ein Stamm von Israel abgebrochen.
7 What are we to do about wives for those who are still living? For we have taken an oath by the Lord that we will not give them our daughters for wives.
7 Que ferons-nous pour procurer des femmes à ceux qui ont survécu, puisque nous avons juré par l'Éternel de ne pas leur donner de nos filles pour femmes?
7 Conas a gheobhaimid mná dá bhfuil fágtha díobh, mar thugamar mionn dar an Tiarna nach dtabharfaimid aon duine dár n‑iníonacha féin dóibh le pósadh?”
7 ¿Qué haremos en cuanto á mujeres para los que han quedado? Nosotros hemos jurado por Jehová que no les hemos de dar nuestras hijas por mujeres.
7 Wie wollen wir ihnen tun, daß die Übriggebliebenen Weiber kriegen? Denn wir haben geschworen bei dem HERRN, daß wir ihnen von unsern Töchtern nicht Weiber geben.
8 And they said, Which one of the tribes of Israel did not come up to Mizpah to the Lord? And it was seen that no one had come from Jabesh-gilead to the meeting.
8 Ils dirent donc: Y a-t-il quelqu'un d'entre les tribus d'Israël qui ne soit pas monté vers l'Éternel à Mitspa? Et voici, personne de Jabès en Galaad n'était venu au camp, à l'assemblée.
8 Ansin chuireadar an cheist: “Cé acu de threibheanna Iosrael nár tháinig i láthair an Tiarna i Mizpeá?” Agus féach! níor tháinig aon duine as Iáibéis Gileád chun an longfoirt don tionól,
8 Y dijeron: ¿Hay alguno de las tribus de Israel que no haya subido á Jehová en Mizpa? Y hallaron que ninguno de Jabes-galaad había venido al campo á la reunión:
8 Und sprachen: Wer ist irgend von den Stämmen Israels, die nicht hinaufgekommen sind zum HERRN gen Mizpa? Und siehe, da war im Lager der Gemeinde niemand gewesen von Jabes in Gilead.
9 For when the people were numbered, not one man of the people of Jabesh-gilead was present.
9 On fit le dénombrement du peuple, et il n'y avait là aucun des habitants de Jabès en Galaad.
9 mar nuair a ríomhadh an pobal ní raibh duine de lucht áitribh Iáibéis Gileád ann.
9 Porque el pueblo fué contado, y no hubo allí varón de los moradores de Jabes-galaad.
9 Denn sie zählten das Volk, und siehe, da war kein Bürger da von Jabes in Gilead.
10 So they (the meeting) sent twelve thousand of the best fighting-men, and gave them orders, saying, Go and put the people of Jabesh-gilead to the sword without mercy, with their women and their little ones.
10 Alors l'assemblée envoya contre eux douze mille soldats, en leur donnant cet ordre: Allez, et frappez du tranchant de l'épée les habitants de Jabès en Galaad, avec les femmes et les enfants.
10 Ansin sheol an comhthionól dhá mhíle déag dá dtogha gaiscíoch ann, agus d'ordaigh dóibh: “Imígí agus déanaigí ár agus eirleach ar lucht áitribh Iáibéis Gileád, mná agus leanaí agus uile.
10 Entonces la congregación envió allá doce mil hombres de los más valientes, y mandáronles, diciendo: Id y poned á cuchillo á los moradores de Jabes-galaad, y las mujeres y niños.
10 Da sandte die Gemeinde zwölftausend Mann dahin von streitbaren Männern und geboten ihnen und sprachen: Geht hin und schlagt mit der Schärfe des Schwerts die Bürger zu Jabes in Gilead mit Weib und Kind.
11 And this is what you are to do: every male, and every woman who has had sex relations with a man, you are to put to the curse, but you are to keep safe the virgins. And they did so.
11 Voici ce que vous ferez: vous dévouerez par interdit tout mâle et toute femme qui a connu la couche d'un homme.
11 Seo mar a chaithfidh sibh a dhéanamh: Cuirigí na fir go léir agus gach bean a luigh le fear faoin mbang, [ach déanaigí anacal ar na maighdeana.” Rinneadar mar a ordaíodh dóibh.]
11 Mas haréis de esta manera: mataréis á todo varón, y á toda mujer que hubiere conocido ayuntamiento de varón.
11 Doch also sollt ihr tun: alles, was männlich ist, und alle Weiber, die beim Mann gelegen haben, verbannt.
12 Now there were among the people of Jabesh-gilead four hundred young virgins who had never had sex relations with a man; these they took to their tents in Shiloh in the land of Canaan.
12 Ils trouvèrent parmi les habitants de Jabès en Galaad quatre cents jeunes filles vierges qui n'avaient point connu d'homme en couchant avec lui, et ils les amenèrent dans le camp à Silo, qui est au pays de Canaan.
12 Fuaireadar ceithre chéad maighdean óg nár aithin agus nár luigh le fear i measc lucht áitribh Iáibéis Gileád; thugadar iad go dtí an longfort i Sileo atá i dtír Chanán.
12 Y hallaron de los moradores de Jabes-galaad cuatrocientas doncellas que no habían conocido hombre en ayuntamiento de varón, y trajéronlas al campo en Silo, que es en la tierra de Canaán.
12 Und sie fanden bei den Bürgern zu Jabes in Gilead vierhundert Dirnen, die Jungfrauen waren und bei keinem Mann gelegen hatten; die brachten sie ins Lager gen Silo, das da liegt im Lande Kanaan.
13 And all the meeting sent to the men of Benjamin who were in the rock of Rimmon, offering them peace.
13 Toute l'assemblée envoya des messagers pour parler aux fils de Benjamin qui étaient au rocher de Rimmon, et pour leur annoncer la paix.
13 Ansin chuir an comhthionól go léir teachtairí le tairiscint síochána chun clann Bhiniáimin a bhí ag Carraig Rimeon.
13 Toda la congregación envió luego á hablar á los hijos de Benjamín que estaban en la peña de Rimmón, y llamáronlos en paz.
13 Da sandte die ganze Gemeinde hin und ließ reden mit den Kindern Benjamin, die im Fels Rimmon waren, und sagten ihnen Frieden zu.
14 Then Benjamin came back; and they gave them the women whom they had kept from death among the women of Jabesh-gilead: but still there were not enough for them.
14 En ce temps-là, les Benjamites revinrent, et on leur donna les femmes à qui l'on avait laissé la vie parmi les femmes de Jabès en Galaad. Mais il n'y en avait pas assez pour eux.
14 D'fhill Biniáimin an uair sin agus thugadar dóibh na mná ó Iáibéis Gileád ar a ndearnadh anacal; ach ní raibh a ndóthain go léir ann.
14 Y volvieron entonces los de Benjamín; y diéronles por mujeres las que habían guardado vivas de las mujeres de Jabes-galaad: mas no les bastaron éstas.
14 Also kamen die Kinder Benjamin wieder zu der Zeit. Und sie gaben ihnen die Weiber, die sie hatten erhalten von den Weibern zu Jabes in Gilead; aber es waren ihrer nicht genug für sie.
15 And the people were moved with pity for Benjamin, because the Lord had let his wrath loose on the tribes of Israel.
15 Le peuple éprouvait du repentir au sujet de Benjamin, car l'Éternel avait fait une brèche dans les tribus d'Israël.
15 Bhí trua ag an bpobal do Bhiniáimin mar go raibh bearna briste ag an Tiarna i dtreibheanna Iosrael.
15 Y el pueblo tuvo dolor á causa de Benjamín, de que Jehová hubiese hecho mella en las tribus de Israel.
15 Da reute es das Volk über Benjamin, daß der HERR einen Riß gemacht hatte in den Stämmen Israels.
16 Then the responsible men of the meeting said, What are we to do about wives for the rest of them, seeing that the women of Benjamin are dead?
16 Les anciens de l'assemblée dirent: Que ferons-nous pour procurer des femmes à ceux qui restent, puisque les femmes de Benjamin ont été détruites?
16 Ansin dúirt seanóirí an chomhthionóil: “Conas a gheobhaimid mná dá bhfuil fágtha ó tá mná Bhiniáimin scriosta?”
16 Entonces los ancianos de la congregación dijeron: ¿Qué haremos acerca de mujeres para los que han quedado? Porque el sexo de las mujeres había sido raído de Benjamín.
16 Und die Ältesten der Gemeinde sprachen: Was wollen wir tun, daß die Übriggebliebenen Weiber kriegen? Denn die Weiber in Benjamin sind vertilgt.
17 And they said, How is the rest of Benjamin to be given offspring so that one tribe of Israel may not be put out of existence,
17 Et ils dirent: Que les réchappés de Benjamin conservent leur héritage, afin qu'une tribu ne soit pas effacée d'Israël.
17 Agus dúradar: “Conas a chaomhnóimid [iarmhar] do Bhiniáimin d'fhonn nach scriosfaí treibh as Iosrael?
17 Y dijeron: La heredad de los que han escapado ha de ser lo que era de Benjamín, porque no sea una tribu raída de Israel.
17 Und sie sprachen: Die übrigen von Benjamin müssen ja ihr Erbe behalten, daß nicht ein Stamm ausgetilgt werde von Israel.
18 Seeing that we may not give them our daughters as wives? For the children of Israel had taken an oath, saying, Cursed is he who gives a wife to Benjamin.
18 Mais nous ne pouvons pas leur donner de nos filles pour femmes, car les enfants d'Israël ont juré, en disant: Maudit soit celui qui donnera une femme à un Benjamite!
18 Ní féidir dúinn féin ár n‑iníonacha a thabhairt dóibh le pósadh.” Óir bhí an mionn seo tugtha ag clann Iosrael: “Go raibh mallacht ar aon duine a thabharfaidh bean do Bhiniáimin.”
18 Nosotros empero, no les podemos dar mujeres de nuestras hijas, porque los hijos de Israel han jurado, diciendo: Maldito el que diere mujer á Benjamín.
18 Und wir können ihnen unsre Töchter nicht zu Weibern geben; denn die Kinder Israel haben geschworen und gesagt: Verflucht sei, wer den Benjaminitern ein Weib gibt!
19 And they said, See, every year there is a feast of the Lord in Shiloh, which is to the north of Beth-el, on the east side of the highway which goes up from Beth-el to Shechem, and on the south of Lebonah.
19 Et ils dirent: Voici, il y a chaque année une fête de l'Éternel à Silo, qui est au nord de Béthel, à l'orient de la route qui monte de Béthel, à Sichem, et au midi de Lebona.
19 “Ach, féach!” ar siad, “tá féile leis an Tiarna a chomórtar gach bliain i Sileo.” [Tá an baile seo lastuaidh de Bhéitéil, soir ón mórbhóthar a ghabhann ó Bhéiteil go Seicim, agus ó dheas ó Labóná.]
19 Ahora bien, dijeron, he aquí cada un año hay solemnidad de Jehová en Silo, que está al aquilón de Beth-el, y al lado oriental del camino que sube de Beth-el á Sichêm, y al mediodía de Lebona.
19 Und sie sprachen: Siehe, es ist ein Jahrfest des HERRN zu Silo, das mitternachtwärts liegt von Beth-El, gegen der Sonne Aufgang von der Straße, da man hinaufgeht von Beth-El gen Sichem, und mittagswärts liegt von Lebona.
20 And they said to the men of Benjamin, Go into the vine-gardens, waiting there secretly,
20 Puis ils donnèrent cet ordre aux fils de Benjamin: Allez, et placez-vous en embuscade dans les vignes.
20 Sé treoir a thugadar do chlann Bhiniáimin: “Téigí i luíochán sna fíonghoirt
20 Y mandaron á los hijos de Benjamín, diciendo: Id, y poned emboscada en las viñas:
20 Und sie geboten den Kindern Benjamin und sprachen: Gehet hin und lauert in den Weinbergen.
21 And watching; and if the daughters of Shiloh come out to take part in the dances, then come from the vine-gardens and take a wife for every one of you from among the daughters of Shiloh, and go back to the land of Benjamin.
21 Vous regarderez, et voici, lorsque les filles de Silo sortiront pour danser, vous sortirez des vignes, vous enlèverez chacun une des filles de Silo pour en faire votre femme, et vous vous en irez dans le pays de Benjamin.
21 agus déanaigí faire; nuair a thiocfaidh iníonacha Shileo amach chun rince ina mbaiclí le chéile, tagaigí sibhse amach chomh maith as na fíonghoirt agus sciobadh gach duine agaibh bean dó féin as iníonacha Shileo agus imíodh gach duine go tír Bhiniáimin.
21 Y estad atentos: y cuando viereis salir la hijas de Silo á bailar en corros, vosotros saldréis de las viñas, y arrebataréis cada uno mujer para sí de las hijas de Silo, y os iréis á tierra de Benjamín:
21 Wenn ihr dann seht, daß die Töchter Silos heraus mit Reigen zum Tanz gehen, so fahret hervor aus den Weinbergen und nehme ein jeglicher sich ein Weib von den Töchtern Silos und gehet hin ins Land Benjamin.
22 And when their fathers or their brothers come and make trouble, you are to say to them, Give them to us as an act of grace; for we did not take them as wives for ourselves in war; and if you yourselves had given them to us you would have been responsible for the broken oath.
22 Si leurs pères ou leurs frères viennent se plaindre auprès de nous, nous leur dirons: Accordez-les-nous, car nous n'avons pas pris une femme pour chacun dans la guerre. Ce n'est pas vous qui les leur avez données; en ce cas, vous seriez coupables.
22 Má thagann a n‑aithreacha nó a ndeartháireacha chugainn le gearán, déarfaimid leo: ‘Maithigí dóibh, [mar thóg gach fear] díobh bean mar a dhéanann daoine i gcogadh; dá dtabharfadh sibh féin mná dóibh, bhrisfeadh sibh bhur mionn agus bheadh coir déanta agaibh.’ ”
22 Y cuando vinieren los padres de ellas ó sus hermanos á demandárnoslo, nosotros les diremos: Tened piedad de nosotros en lugar de ellos: pues que nosotros en la guerra no tomamos mujeres para todos: que vosotros no se las habéis dado, para que ahora seáis culpables.
22 Wenn aber ihre Väter oder Brüder kommen, mit uns zu rechten, wollen wir zu ihnen sagen: Gönnt sie uns; denn wir hatten nicht für jeden ein Weib genommen im Streit. Auch habt nicht ihr sie ihnen gegeben; sonst wäret ihr jetzt schuldig.
23 So the men of Benjamin did this, and got wives for themselves for every one of their number, taking them away by force from the dance; then they went back to their heritage, building up their towns and living in them.
23 Ainsi firent les fils de Benjamin; ils prirent des femmes selon leur nombre parmi les danseuses qu'ils enlevèrent, puis ils partirent et retournèrent dans leur héritage; ils rebâtirent les villes, et y habitèrent.
23 Rinne clann Bhiniáimin amhlaidh; thoghadar bean an duine as na rinceoirí a d'fhuadaíodar; ansin chuireadar chun bóthair, d'fhilleadar ar a n‑oidhreacht, thógadar a mbailte arís, agus chuireadar fúthu iontu.
23 Y los hijos de Benjamín lo hicieron así; pues tomaron mujeres conforme á su número, pillando de las que danzaban; y yéndose luego, tornáronse á su heredad, y reedificaron las ciudades, y habitaron en ellas.
23 Die Kinder Benjamin taten also und nahmen Weiber nach ihrer Zahl von den Reigen, die sie raubten, und zogen hin und wohnten in ihrem Erbteil und bauten die Städte und wohnten darin.
24 Then the children of Israel went away from there, every man to his tribe and his family, every man went back to his heritage.
24 Et dans le même temps les enfants d'Israël s'en allèrent de là chacun dans sa tribu et dans sa famille, ils retournèrent chacun dans son héritage.
24 D'imigh clann Iosrael leo as an áit ansin, gach duine ar ais chun a threibhe agus a fhine féin; d'fhill gach duine ó Shileo ar a oidhreacht féin.
24 Entonces los hijos de Israel se fueron también de allí, cada uno á su tribu y á su familia, saliendo de allí cada uno á su heredad.
24 Auch die Kinder Israel machten sich von dannen zu der Zeit, ein jeglicher zu seinem Stamm und zu seinem Geschlecht, und zogen von da aus, ein jeglicher zu seinem Erbteil.
25 In those days there was no king in Israel: every man did what seemed right to him.
25 En ce temps-là, il n'y avait point de roi en Israël. Chacun faisait ce qui lui semblait bon.
25 Sna laethanta úd ní raibh aon rí in Iosrael agus rinne gach fear mar ab áil leis féin.
25 En estos días no había rey en Israel: cada uno hacía lo recto delante de sus ojos.
25 Zu der Zeit war kein König in Israel; ein jeglicher tat, was ihn recht deuchte.
