1 Now in those days, when there was no king in Israel, a certain Levite was living in the inmost parts of the hill-country of Ephraim, and he got for himself a servant-wife from Beth-lehem-judah.
1 Dans ce temps où il n'y avait point de roi en Israël, un Lévite, qui séjournait à l'extrémité de la montagne d'Éphraïm, prit pour sa concubine une femme de Bethléhem de Juda.

1 En aquellos días, cuando no había rey en Israel, hubo un Levita que moraba como peregrino en los lados del monte de Ephraim, el cual se había tomado mujer concubina de Beth-lehem de Judá.
1 Zu der Zeit war kein König in Israel. Und ein levitischer Mann war Fremdling an der Seite des Gebirges Ephraim und hatte sich ein Kebsweib genommen von Bethlehem-Juda.
2 And his servant-wife was angry with him, and went away from him to her father's house at Beth-lehem-judah, and was there for four months.
2 Sa concubine lui fit infidélité, et elle le quitta pour aller dans la maison de son père à Bethléhem de Juda, où elle resta l'espace de quatre mois.
2 Tháinig taom feirge uirthi leis agus d'imigh sí léi go teach a hathar i mBeithil in Iúdá agus d'fhan ann timpeall ceithre mhí.
2 Y su concubina adulteró contra él, y fuese de él á casa de su padre, á Beth-lehem de Judá, y estuvo allá por tiempo de cuatro meses.
2 Und da sie hatte neben ihm gehurt, lief sie von ihm zu ihres Vaters Haus gen Bethlehem-Juda und war daselbst vier Monate lang.
3 Then her husband got up and went after her, with the purpose of talking kindly to her, and taking her back with him; he had with him his young man and two asses: and she took him into her father's house, and her father, when he saw him, came forward to him with joy.
3 Son mari se leva et alla vers elle, pour parler à son coeur et la ramener. Il avait avec lui son serviteur et deux ânes. Elle le fit entrer dans la maison de son père; et quand le père de la jeune femme le vit, il le reçut avec joie.
3 Ansin chuir a fear chun bóthair chun dul ar a tuairisc, labhairt go cneasta léi agus í a thabhairt ar ais; thug sé leis a ghiolla agus dhá asal. Nuair a bhí sé ag teacht i ngar do theach athair a chéile, chonaic athair na hógmhná é, tháinig sé ina choinne le háthas.
3 Y levantóse su marido, y siguióla, para hablarle amorosamente y volverla, llevando consigo un criado suyo y un par de asnos; y ella le metió en la casa de su padre.
3 Und ihr Mann machte sich auf und zog ihr nach, daß er freundlich mit ihr redete und sie wieder zu sich holte; und hatte einen Knecht und ein Paar Esel mit sich. Und sie führte ihn in ihres Vaters Haus. Da ihn aber der Vater der Dirne sah, ward er froh und empfing ihn.
4 And his father-in-law, the girl's father, kept him there for three days; and they had food and drink and took their rest there.
4 Son beau-père, le père de la jeune femme, le retint trois jours chez lui. Ils mangèrent et burent, et ils y passèrent la nuit.
4 Chuir athair a chéile, athair na hógmhná, d'iallach air fanacht fairis, agus d'fhan fairis trí lá; d'itheadar, d'óladar agus chaitheadar an oíche ann.
4 Y viéndole el padre de la moza, salióle á recibir gozoso; y detúvole su suegro, padre de la moza, y quedó en su casa tres días, comiendo y bebiendo, y reposando allí.
4 Und sein Schwiegervater, der Dirne Vater, hielt ihn, daß er drei Tage bei ihm blieb; sie aßen und tranken und blieben des Nachts da.
5 Now on the fourth day they got up early in the morning and he made ready to go away; but the girl's father said to his son-in-law, Take a little food to keep up your strength, and then go on your way.
5 Le quatrième jour, ils se levèrent de bon matin, et le Lévite se disposait à partir. Mais le père de la jeune femme dit à son gendre: Prends un morceau de pain pour fortifier ton coeur; vous partirez ensuite.
5 Ar an gceathrú lá, d'éiríodar go moch, agus d'ullmhaigh an Léivíteach chun bóthair, ach dúirt athair na hógmhná lena chliamhain: “Bíodh greim bia agat chun tú féin a neartú don bhóthar! Is féidir duit imeacht ina dhiaidh sin.”
5 Y al cuarto día, como se levantaron de mañana, levantóse también el Levita para irse, y el padre de la moza dijo á su yerno: Conforta tu corazón con un bocado de pan, y después os iréis.
5 Des vierten Tages erhoben sie sich des Morgens früh, und er machte sich auf und wollte ziehen. Da sprach der Dirne Vater zu seinem Eidam: Labe dein Herz zuvor mit einem Bissen Brot, darnach sollt ihr ziehen.
6 So seating themselves they had food and drink, the two of them together; and the girl's father said to the man, If it is your pleasure, take your rest here tonight, and let your heart be glad.
6 Et ils s'assirent, et ils mangèrent et burent eux deux ensemble. Puis le père de la jeune femme dit au mari: Décide-toi donc à passer la nuit, et que ton coeur se réjouisse.
6 Shuíodar síos dá bhrí sin, agus chromadar ar ithe agus ól, an bheirt acu le chéile. Dúirt athair na hógmhná lena chliamhain: “Seo, fan anocht chomh maith, le do thoil, agus bí go súgach!”
6 Y sentáronse ellos dos juntos, y comieron y bebieron. Y el padre de la moza dijo al varón: Yo te ruego que te quieras quedar aquí esta noche, y alegraráse tu corazón.
6 Und sie setzten sich und aßen beide miteinander und tranken. Da sprach der Dirne Vater zu dem Mann: Bleib doch über Nacht und laß dein Herz guter Dinge sein.
7 And the man got up to go away, but his father-in-law would not let him go, so he took his rest there again for the night.
7 Le mari se levait pour s'en aller; mais, sur les instances de son beau-père, il passa encore la nuit.
7 Nuair a d'éirigh seisean chun imeachta, thathain athair a chéile air arís agus chaith sé oíche eile ann.
7 Y levantándose el varón para irse, el suegro le constriñó á que tornase y tuviese allí la noche.
7 Da aber der Mann aufstand und wollte ziehen, nötigte ihn sein Schwiegervater, daß er über Nacht dablieb.
8 Then early on the morning of the fifth day he got up to go away; but the girl's father said, Keep up your strength; so the two of them had a meal, and the man and his woman and his servant did not go till after the middle of the day.
8 Le cinquième jour, il se leva de bon matin pour partir. Alors le père de la jeune femme dit: Fortifie ton coeur, je te prie; et restez jusqu'au déclin du jour. Et ils mangèrent eux deux.
8 An cúigiú maidin, d'éirigh sé go moch chun imeachta, ach dúirt athair na hógmhná leis: “Bíodh greim bia agat le tú a neartú agus fan go nóin.” Agus d'itheadar araon le chéile.
8 Y al quinto día levantándose de mañana para irse, díjole el padre de la moza: Conforta ahora tu corazón. Y habiendo comido ambos á dos, detuviéronse hasta que ya declinaba el día.
8 Des Morgens am fünften Tage machte er sich früh auf und wollte ziehen. Da sprach der Dirne Vater: Labe doch dein Herz und laß uns verziehen, bis sich der Tag neigt. Und aßen also die beiden miteinander.
9 And when they got up to go away, his father-in-law, the girl's father, said to him, Now evening is coming on, so do not go tonight; see, the day is almost gone; take your rest here and let your heart be glad, and tomorrow early, go on your way back to your house.
9 Le mari se levait pour s'en aller, avec sa concubine et son serviteur; mais son beau-père, le père de la jeune femme, lui dit: Voici, le jour baisse, il se fait tard, passez donc la nuit; voici, le jour est sur son déclin, passe ici la nuit, et que ton coeur se réjouisse; demain vous vous lèverez de bon matin pour vous mettre en route, et tu t'en iras à ta tente.
9 Nuair a d'éirigh an fear agus a bhean luí agus a ghiolla chun imeachta, dúirt athair a chéile, athair na hógmhná, leis: “Féach, tá sé anonn go maith sa lá agus ag druidim le tráthnóna; fan anseo anocht agus bí go súgach. Is féidir leat éirí go moch do do thuras ar maidin amárach agus filleadh abhaile.”
9 Levantóse luego el varón para irse, él, y su concubina, y su criado. Entonces su suegro, el padre de la moza, le dijo: He aquí el día declina para ponerse el sol, ruégote que os estéis aquí la noche; he aquí que el día se acaba, ten aquí la noche, para que se alegre tu corazón; y mañana os levantaréis temprano á vuestro camino, y llegarás á tus tiendas.
9 Und der Mann machte sich auf und wollte ziehen mit seinem Kebsweib und mit seinem Knechte. Aber sein Schwiegervater, der Dirne Vater, sprach zu ihm: Siehe, der Tag hat sich geneigt, und es will Abend werden; bleib über Nacht. Siehe, hier ist Herberge noch diesen Tag; bleibe hier über Nacht und laß dein Herz guter Dinge sein. Morgen steht ihr früh auf und zieht eures Weges zu deiner Hütte.
10 But the man would not be kept there that night, and he got up and went away and came opposite to Jebus (which is Jerusalem); and he had with him the two asses, ready for travelling, and his woman.
10 Le mari ne voulut point passer la nuit, il se leva et partit. Il arriva jusque devant Jebus, qui est Jérusalem, avec les deux ânes bâtés et avec sa concubine.
10 Ach ní fhanfadh an fear thar oíche; d'éirigh sé agus chuir chun bóthair, agus tháinig i radharc Iabús [Iarúsailéim is é sin]. Bhí dhá asal lena ndiallaití aige agus a bhean luí in éineacht leis.
10 Mas el hombre no quiso quedar allí la noche, sino que se levantó y partió, y llegó hasta enfrente de Jebus, que es Jerusalem, con su par de asnos aparejados, y con su concubina.
10 Aber der Mann wollte nicht über Nacht bleiben, sondern machte sich auf und zog hin und kam bis vor Jebus, das ist Jerusalem, und sein Paar Esel beladen und sein Kebsweib mit ihm.
11 When they got near Jebus the day was far gone; and the servant said to his master, Now let us go from our road into this town of the Jebusites and take our night's rest there.
11 Lorsqu'ils furent près de Jebus, le jour avait beaucoup baissé. Le serviteur dit alors à son maître: Allons, dirigeons-nous vers cette ville des Jébusiens, et nous y passerons la nuit.
11 Nuair a bhíodar i ngiorracht do Iabús bhí sé anonn go maith sa lá agus dúirt an giolla lena mháistir: “Téanam, casaimis i leataobh anois agus téimis isteach i gcathair seo na Iabúsach, agus caithimis an oíche inti.”
11 Y estando ya junto á Jebus, el día había declinado mucho: y dijo el criado á su señor: Ven ahora, y vámonos á esta ciudad de los Jebuseos, para que tengamos en ella la noche.
11 Da sie nun nahe bei Jebus kamen, sank der Tag sehr dahin. Und der Knecht sprach zu seinem Herrn: Komm doch und laß uns in diese Stadt der Jebusiter einkehren und über Nacht darin bleiben.
12 But his master said to him, We will not go out of our way into a strange town, whose people are not of the children of Israel; but we will go on to Gibeah.
12 Son maître lui répondit: Nous n'entrerons pas dans une ville d'étrangers, où il n'y a point d'enfants d'Israël, nous irons jusqu'à Guibea.
12 Dúirt a mháistir leis: “Ní chasfaimid i leataobh isteach i gcathair choimhthíoch, daoine nach mbaineann le pobal Iosrael, ach ar aghaidh linn go Gibeá.”
12 Y su señor le respondió: No iremos á ninguna ciudad de extranjeros, que no sea de los hijos de Israel: antes pasaremos hasta Gabaa. Y dijo á su criado:
12 Aber sein Herr sprach zu ihm: Wir wollen nicht in der Fremden Stadt einkehren, die nicht sind von den Kindern Israel, sondern wollen hinüber gen Gibea.
13 And he said to his servant, Come, let us go on to one of these places, stopping for the night in Gibeah or Ramah.
13 Il dit encore à son serviteur: Allons, approchons-nous de l'un de ces lieux, Guibea ou Rama, et nous y passerons la nuit.
13 Lean sé air ansin agus dúirt lena ghiolla: “Téimis ar aghaidh agus bainimis amach áit éigin díobhsan - Gibeá nó Rámá agus caithfimis an oíche ann.”
13 Ven, lleguemos á uno de esos lugares, para tener la noche en Gabaa, ó en Rama.
13 Und sprach zu seinem Knecht: Gehe weiter, daß wir hinzukommen an einen Ort und über Nacht zu Gibea oder zu Rama bleiben.
14 So they went on their way; and the sun went down when they were near Gibeah in the land of Benjamin.
14 Ils continuèrent à marcher, et le soleil se coucha quand ils furent près de Guibea, qui appartient à Benjamin.
14 D'imíodar leo, dá bhrí sin, agus ar aghaidh leo ar a n‑aistear. Ag druidim le Gibeá i mBiniáimin dóibh bhí an ghrian ag dul faoi.
14 Pasando pues, caminaron, y púsoseles el sol junto á Gabaa, que era de Benjamín.
14 Und sie zogen weiter und wandelten, und die Sonne ging ihnen unter, hart bei Gibea, das liegt in Benjamin.
15 And they went off the road there with the purpose of stopping for the night in Gibeah: and he went in, seating himself in the street of the town, for no one took them into his house for the night.
15 Ils se dirigèrent de ce côté pour aller passer la nuit à Guibea. Le Lévite entra, et il s'arrêta sur la place de la ville. Il n'y eut personne qui les reçût dans sa maison pour qu'ils y passassent la nuit.
15 Chuadar i leataobh ansiúd chun dul isteach an oíche a chaitheamh i nGibeá. Chuaigh an Léivíteach isteach agus shuigh i lár cearnóige poiblí na cathrach, mar nár thug aon duine bheith istigh dó ina theach chun an oíche a chaitheamh ann.
15 Y apartáronse del camino para entrar á tener allí la noche en Gabaa; y entrando, sentáronse en la plaza de la ciudad, porque no hubo quien los acogiese en casa para pasar la noche.
15 Und sie kehrten daselbst ein, daß sie hineinkämen und über Nacht zu Gibea blieben. Da er aber hineinkam, setzte er sich in der Stadt Gasse; denn es war niemand, der sie bei Nacht im Hause herbergen wollte.
16 Now when it was evening they saw an old man coming back from his work in the fields; he was from the hill-country of Ephraim and was living in Gibeah: but the men of the place were Benjamites.
16 Et voici, un vieillard revenait le soir de travailler aux champs; cet homme était de la montagne d'Éphraïm, il séjournait à Guibea, et les gens du lieu étaient Benjamites.
16 Ach seanduine a bhí ag teacht abhaile tráthnóna óna obair sna goirt, tháinig sé an treo. B'as ardáin Eafráim dó, duine deoranta ag cur faoi i nGibeá; Biniáiminigh iad muintir na háite.
16 Y he aquí un hombre viejo, que á la tarde venía del campo de trabajar; el cual era del monte de Ephraim, y moraba como peregrino en Gabaa, pero los moradores de aquel lugar eran hijos de Benjamín.
16 Und siehe, da kam ein alter Mann von seiner Arbeit vom Felde am Abend, und er war auch vom Gebirge Ephraim und ein Fremdling zu Gibea; aber die Leute des Orts waren Benjaminiter.
17 And when he saw the traveller in the street of the town, the old man said, Where are you going? and where do you come from?
17 Il leva les yeux, et vit le voyageur sur la place de la ville. Et le vieillard lui dit: Où vas-tu, et d'où viens-tu?
17 D'ardaigh sé a shúile agus chonaic an taistealaí ina shuí ansiúd i gcearnóg phoiblí na cathrach; dúirt an seanduine: “Cá bhfuil do thriall? Agus cá has ar tháinig tú?”
17 Y alzando el viejo los ojos, vió á aquel viajante en la plaza de la ciudad, y díjole: ¿A dónde vas, y de dónde vienes?
17 Und da er seine Augen aufhob und sah den Gast auf der Gasse, sprach er zu ihm: Wo willst du hin? und wo kommst du her?
18 And he said to him, We are on our way from Beth-lehem-judah to the inmost parts of the hill-country of Ephraim: I came from there and went to Beth-lehem-judah: now I am on my way back to my house, but no man will take me into his house.
18 Il lui répondit: Nous allons de Bethléhem de Juda jusqu'à l'extrémité de la montagne d'Éphraïm, d'où je suis. J'étais allé à Bethléhem de Juda, et je me rends à la maison de l'Éternel. Mais il n'y a personne qui me reçoive dans sa demeure.
18 D'fhreagair seisean é: “Táimid ar an mbóthar ó Bheithil in Iúdá go hiargúl ardáin Eafráim, áit arb as dom. Chuas go Beithil in Iúdá, agus anois táim ag filleadh abhaile; ach níor thug aon duine cuireadh chun a thí dom,
18 Y él respondió: Pasamos de Beth-lehem de Judá á los lados del monte de Ephraim, de donde yo soy; y partí hasta Beth-lehem de Judá; y voy á la casa de Jehová, y no hay quien me reciba en casa,
18 Er aber antwortete ihm: Wir reisen von Bethlehem-Juda, bis wir kommen an die Seite des Gebirges Ephraim, daher ich bin; und bin gen Bethlehem-Juda gezogen und ziehe jetzt zum Hause des HERRN, und niemand will mich beherbergen.
19 But we have dry grass and food for our asses, as well as bread and wine for me, and for the woman, and for the young man with us: we have no need of anything.
19 Nous avons cependant de la paille et du fourrage pour nos ânes; nous avons aussi du pain et du vin pour moi, pour ta servante, et pour le garçon qui est avec tes serviteurs. Il ne nous manque rien.
19 cé go bhfuil tuí agus foráiste againn dár n‑asail, agus arán agus fíon dom féin, do do shearbhónta mná anseo, agus do ghiolla turais do shearbhóntaí; níl aon ní de dhíth orainn.”
19 Aunque nosotros tenemos paja y de comer para nuestros asnos, y también tenemos pan y vino para mí y para tu sierva, y para el criado que está con tu siervo; de nada tenemos falta.
19 Wir haben Stroh und Futter für unsre Esel und Brot und Wein für mich und deine Magd und für den Knecht, der mit deinem Diener ist, daß uns nichts gebricht.
20 And the old man said, Peace be with you; let all your needs be my care; only do not take your rest in the street.
20 Le vieillard dit: Que la paix soit avec toi! Je me charge de tous tes besoins, tu ne passeras pas la nuit sur la place.
20 Dúirt an seanduine ansin: “Fáilte romhat! Féachfaidh mise chun a bhfuil uait, ach ná caith an oíche sa chearnóg.”
20 Y el hombre viejo dijo: Paz sea contigo; tu necesidad toda sea solamente á mi cargo, con tal que no tengas la noche en la plaza.
20 Der alte Mann sprach: Friede sei mit dir! Alles was dir mangelt findest du bei mir; bleibe nur nicht über Nacht auf der Gasse.
21 So he took them into his house and gave the asses food; and after washing their feet they took food and drink.
21 Il les fit entrer dans sa maison, et il donna du fourrage aux ânes. Les voyageurs se lavèrent les pieds; puis ils mangèrent et burent.
21 Thug sé chun a thí é, agus thug bia do na hasail. Nigh na taistealaithe a gcosa, ansin d'ith agus d'ól.
21 Y metiéndolos en su casa, dió de comer á sus asnos; y ellos se lavaron los pies, y comieron y bebieron.
21 Und führte ihn in sein Haus und gab den Eseln Futter, und sie wuschen ihre Füße und aßen und tranken.
22 While they were taking their pleasure at the meal, the good-for-nothing men of the town came round the house, giving blows on the door; and they said to the old man, the master of the house, Send out that man who came to your house, so that we may take our pleasure with him.
22 Pendant qu'ils étaient à se réjouir, voici, les hommes de la ville, gens pervers, entourèrent la maison, frappèrent à la porte, et dirent au vieillard, maître de la maison: Fais sortir l'homme qui est entré chez toi, pour que nous le connaissions.
22 Fad a bhíodar go súgach ag béile, féach, tháinig cuid d'fhir na cathrach, scraistí, timpeall an tí; bhuaileadar ar an doras agus dúradar leis an seanduine, fear an tí: “Cuir amach an fear a tháinig isteach i do theach i dtreo go ndéanfaimis leis mar is tnúth linn.”
22 Y cuando estaban gozosos, he aquí, que los hombres de aquella ciudad, hombres hijos de Belial, cercan la casa, y batían las puertas, diciendo al hombre viejo dueño de la casa: Saca fuera el hombre que ha entrado en tu casa, para que lo conozcamos.
22 Und da ihr Herz nun guter Dinge war, siehe, da kamen die Leute der Stadt, böse Buben, und umgaben das Haus und pochten an die Tür und sprachen zu dem alten Mann, dem Hauswirt: Bringe den Mann heraus, der in dein Haus gekommen ist, daß wir ihn erkennen.
23 So the man, the master of the house, went out to them, and said, No, my brothers, do not this evil thing; this man has come into my house, and you are not to do him this wrong.
23 Le maître de la maison, se présentant à eux, leur dit: Non, mes frères, ne faites pas le mal, je vous prie; puisque cet homme est entré dans ma maison, ne commettez pas cette infamie.
23 Ansin chuaigh fear an tí amach chucu agus dúirt leo: “Ná déanaigí, a dhaoine muinteartha, an choir ghráiniúil sin, impím oraibh. Is aoi agam an fear seo, ná déanaigí beart chomh náireach sin.
23 Y saliendo á ellos aquel varón, amo de la casa, díjoles: No, hermanos míos, ruégoos que no cometáis este mal, pues que este hombre ha entrado en mi casa, no hagáis esta maldad.
23 Aber der Mann, der Hauswirt, ging zu ihnen heraus und sprach zu ihnen: Nicht, meine Brüder, tut nicht so übel; nachdem dieser Mann in mein Haus gekommen ist, tut nicht eine solche Torheit!
24 See, here is my daughter, a virgin, and his servant-wife: I will send them out for you to take them and do with them whatever you will. But do no such thing of shame to this man.
24 Voici, j'ai une fille vierge, et cet homme a une concubine; je vous les amènerai dehors; vous les déshonorerez, et vous leur ferez ce qu'il vous plaira. Mais ne commettez pas sur cet homme une action aussi infâme.
24 Féach, seo maighdean iníne liom [agus a bhean luí], tabharfaidh mé amach chugaibh anois í. Déan bhur gcuid féin di agus déan mar is mian libh léi, ach ná déanaigí beart chomh náireach in aghaidh an fhir seo.”
24 He aquí mi hija virgen, y la concubina de él: yo os las sacaré ahora; humilladlas, y haced con ellas como os pareciere, y no hagáis á este hombre cosa tan infame.
24 Siehe, ich habe eine Tochter, noch eine Jungfrau, und dieser ein Kebsweib; die will ich herausbringen. Die mögt ihr zu Schanden machen, und tut mit ihr, was euch gefällt; aber an diesen Mann tut nicht solche Torheit.
25 But the men would not give ear to him: so the man took his woman and sent her out to them; and they took her by force, using her for their pleasure all night till the morning; and when dawn came they let her go.
25 Ces gens ne voulurent point l'écouter. Alors l'homme prit sa concubine, et la leur amena dehors. Ils la connurent, et ils abusèrent d'elle toute la nuit jusqu'au matin; puis ils la renvoyèrent au lever de l'aurore.
25 Ní éisteodh na fir leis. Rug an Léivíteach ar a bhean luí dá bhrí sin agus chuir amach chucu í. Luíodar léi agus mhaslaíodar í ar feadh na hoíche go maidin. Le breacadh an lae scaoileadar léi.
25 Mas aquellos hombres no le quisieron oir; por lo que tomando aquel hombre su concubina, sacósela fuera: y ellos la conocieron, y abusaron de ella toda la noche hasta la mañana, y dejáronla cuando apuntaba el alba.
25 Aber die Leute wollten ihm nicht gehorchen. Da faßte der Mann sein Kebsweib und brachte sie zu ihnen hinaus. Die erkannten sie und trieben ihren Mutwillen an ihr die ganze Nacht bis an den Morgen; und da die Morgenröte anbrach, ließen sie sie gehen.
26 Then at the dawn of day the woman came, and, falling down at the door of the man's house where her master was, was stretched there till it was light.
26 Vers le matin, cette femme alla tomber à l'entrée de la maison de l'homme chez qui était son mari, et elle resta là jusqu'au jour.
26 Leis an láchan tháinig an ógbhean agus thit ag tairseach tí an fhir lenar fhan a céile, agus bhí sí ansiúd go raibh sé ina lá geal.
26 Y ya que amanecía, la mujer vino, y cayó delante de la puerta de la casa de aquel hombre donde su señor estaba, hasta que fué de día.
26 Da kam das Weib hart vor morgens und fiel nieder vor der Tür am Hause des Mannes, darin ihr Herr war, und lag da, bis es licht ward.
27 In the morning her master got up, and opening the door of the house went out to go on his way; and he saw his servant-wife stretched on the earth at the door of the house with her hands on the step.
27 Et le matin, son mari se leva, ouvrit la porte de la maison, et sortit pour continuer son chemin. Mais voici, la femme, sa concubine, était étendue à l'entrée de la maison, les mains sur le seuil.
27 D'éirigh a fear ar maidin agus d'oscail doras an tí; ag teacht amach dó le leanúint ar aghaidh ar a aistear, féach! ba shiúd í a bhean luí caite ansiúd ag doras an tí agus a lámha ar an tairseach.
27 Y levantándose de mañana su señor, abrió las puertas de la casa, y salió para ir su camino, y he aquí, la mujer su concubina estaba tendida delante de la puerta de la casa, con las manos sobre el umbral.
27 Da nun ihr Herr des Morgens aufstand und die Tür auftat am Hause und herausging, daß er seines Weges zöge, siehe, da lag sein Kebsweib vor der Tür des Hauses und ihre Hände auf der Schwelle.
28 And he said to her, Get up and let us be going; but there was no answer; so he took her up and put her on the ass, and went on his way and came to his house.
28 Il lui dit: Lève-toi, et allons-nous-en. Elle ne répondit pas. Alors le mari la mit sur un âne, et partit pour aller dans sa demeure.
28 Dúirt sé léi: “Bí i do sheasamh, ní foláir dúinn imeacht,” ach freagra ní bhfuair sé. Ansin d'ardaigh sé ar dhroim a asail í, agus chuir chun bóthair abhaile.
28 Y él le dijo: Levántate, y vámonos. Mas ella no respondió. Entonces la levantó el varón, y echándola sobre su asno, levantóse y fuése á su lugar.
28 Er aber sprach zu ihr: Stehe auf, laß uns ziehen! Aber sie antwortete nicht. Da nahm er sie auf den Esel, machte sich auf und zog an seinen Ort.
29 And when he had come to his house, he got his knife, and took the woman, cutting her up bone by bone into twelve parts, which he sent through all Israel.
29 Arrivé chez lui, il prit un couteau, saisit sa concubine, et la coupa membre par membre en douze morceaux, qu'il envoya dans tout le territoire d'Israël.
29 Nuair a shroich sé a theach, fuair sé scian, rug ar a bhean luí agus roinn í, ball ar bhall, ina dhá chuid déag; ansin scaip sé í ar fud críocha uile Iosrael.
29 Y en llegando á su casa, toma un cuchillo, y echa mano de su concubina, y despedázala con sus huesos en doce partes, y enviólas por todos los términos de Israel.
29 Als er nun heimkam, nahm er ein Messer und faßte sein Kebsweib und zerstückte sie mit Gebein und mit allem in zwölf Stücke und sandte sie in alle Grenzen Israels.
30 And he gave orders to the men whom he sent, saying, This is what you are to say to all the men of Israel, Has ever an act like this been done from the day when the children of Israel came out of Egypt to this day? Give thought to it, turning it over in your minds, and give your opinion of it.
30 Tous ceux qui virent cela dirent: Jamais rien de pareil n'est arrivé et ne s'est vu depuis que les enfants d'Israël sont montés du pays d'Égypte jusqu'à ce jour; prenez la chose à coeur, consultez-vous, et parlez!

Machnaígí air, téigí i gcomhairle faoi, agus tugaigí bhur mbreith.’ ”] Gach duine a chonaic, dúradar: “Ní dhearnadh ná ní fhacthas riamh a leithéid ó tháinig clann Iosrael amach as tír na hÉigipte.”
30 Y todo el que lo veía, decía: Jamás se ha hecho ni visto tal cosa, desde el tiempo que los hijos de Israel subieron de la tierra de Egipto hasta hoy. Considerad esto, dad consejo, y hablad.
30 Wer das sah, der sprach: Solches ist nicht geschehen noch gesehen, seit der Zeit die Kinder Israel aus Ägyptenland gezogen sind, bis auf diesen Tag. Nun bedenkt euch über dem, gebt Rat und sagt an!
