1 And when the people saw that Moses was a long time coming down from the mountain, they all came to Aaron and said to him, Come, make us a god to go before us: as for this Moses, who took us up out of the land of Egypt, we have no idea what has become of him.
1 Le peuple, voyant que Moïse tardait à descendre de la montagne, s'assembla autour d'Aaron, et lui dit: Allons! fais-nous un dieu qui marche devant nous, car ce Moïse, cet homme qui nous a fait sortir du pays d'Égypte, nous ne savons ce qu'il est devenu.

1 Mas viendo el pueblo que Moisés tardaba en descender del monte, allegóse entonces á Aarón, y dijéronle: Levántate, haznos dioses que vayan delante de nosotros; porque á este Moisés, aquel varón que nos sacó de la tierra de Egipto, no sabemos qué le haya acontecido.
1 Da aber das Volk sah, daß Mose verzog, von dem Berge zu kommen, sammelte sich's wider Aaron und sprach zu ihm: Auf, mache uns Götter, die vor uns her gehen! Denn wir wissen nicht, was diesem Mann Mose widerfahren ist, der uns aus Ägyptenland geführt hat.
2 Then Aaron said to them, Take off the gold rings which are in the ears of your wives and your sons and your daughters, and give them to me.
2 Aaron leur dit: Otez les anneaux d'or qui sont aux oreilles de vos femmes, de vos fils et de vos filles, et apportez-les-moi.

3 And all the people took the gold rings from their ears and gave them to Aaron.

4 Und er nahm sie von ihren Händen und entwarf's mit einem Griffel und machte ein gegossenes Kalb. Und sie sprachen: Das sind deine Götter, Israel, die dich aus Ägyptenland geführt haben!
5 And when Aaron saw this, he made an altar before it, and made a public statement, saying, Tomorrow there will be a feast to the Lord.
5 Lorsqu'Aaron vit cela, il bâtit un autel devant lui, et il s'écria: Demain, il y aura fête en l'honneur de l'Éternel!

6 So early on the day after they got up and made burned offerings and peace-offerings; and took their seats at the feast, and then gave themselves to pleasure.

6 Y el día siguiente madrugaron, y ofrecieron holocaustos, y presentaron pacíficos: y sentóse el pueblo á comer y á beber, y levantáronse á regocijarse.
6 Und sie standen des Morgens früh auf und opferten Brandopfer und brachten dazu Dankopfer. Darnach setzte sich das Volk, zu essen und zu trinken, und standen auf zu spielen.
7 And the Lord said to Moses, Go down quickly; for your people, whom you took out of the land of Egypt, are turned to evil ways;

9 And the Lord said to Moses, I have been watching this people, and I see that they are a stiff-necked people.

11 But Moses made prayer to God, saying, Lord, why is your wrath burning against your people whom you took out of the land of Egypt, with great power and with the strength of your hand?
11 Moïse implora l'Éternel, son Dieu, et dit: Pourquoi, ô Éternel! ta colère s'enflammerait-elle contre ton peuple, que tu as fait sortir du pays d'Égypte par une grande puissance et par une main forte?

11 Entonces Moisés oró á la faz de Jehová su Dios, y dijo: Oh Jehová, ¿por qué se encenderá tu furor en tu pueblo, que tú sacaste de la tierra de Egipto con gran fortaleza, y con mano fuerte?
11 Mose aber flehte vor dem HERRN, seinem Gott, und sprach: Ach HERR, warum will dein Zorn ergrimmen über dein Volk, das du mit großer Kraft und starker Hand hast aus Ägyptenland geführt?
12 Why let the Egyptians say, He took them out to an evil fate, to put them to death on the mountains, cutting them off from the earth? Let your wrath be turned away from them, and send not this evil on your people.
12 Pourquoi les Égyptiens diraient-ils: C'est pour leur malheur qu'il les a fait sortir, c'est pour les tuer dans les montagnes, et pour les exterminer de dessus la terre? Reviens de l'ardeur de ta colère, et repens-toi du mal que tu veux faire à ton peuple.

12 ¿Por qué han de hablar los Egipcios, diciendo: Para mal los sacó, para matarlos en los montes, y para raerlos de sobre la haz de la tierra? Vuélvete del furor de tu ira, y arrepiéntete del mal de tu pueblo.
12 Warum sollen die Ägypter sagen und sprechen: Er hat sie zu ihrem Unglück ausgeführt, daß er sie erwürgte im Gebirge und vertilgte vom Erdboden? Kehre dich von dem Grimm deines Zornes und laß dich gereuen des Übels über dein Volk.
13 Have in mind Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, your servants, to whom you gave your oath, saying, I will make your seed like the stars of heaven in number, and all this land will I give to your seed, as I said, to be their heritage for ever.
13 Souviens-toi d'Abraham, d'Isaac et d'Israël, tes serviteurs, auxquels tu as dit, en jurant par toi-même: Je multiplierai votre postérité comme les étoiles du ciel, je donnerai à vos descendants tout ce pays dont j'ai parlé, et ils le posséderont à jamais.

13 Gedenke an deine Diener Abraham, Isaak und Israel, denen du bei dir selbst geschworen und verheißen hast: Ich will euren Samen mehren wie die Sterne am Himmel, und alles Land, das ich euch verheißen habe, will ich eurem Samen geben, und sie sollen's besitzen ewiglich.
14 So the Lord let himself be turned from his purpose of sending punishment on his people.

15 Then Moses came down the mountain with the two stones of the law in his hand; the stones had writing on their two sides, on the front and on the back.
15 Moïse retourna et descendit de la montagne, les deux tables du témoignage dans sa main; les tables étaient écrites des deux côtés, elles étaient écrites de l'un et de l'autre côté.

16 The stones were the work of God, and the writing was the writing of God, cut on the stones.
16 Les tables étaient l'ouvrage de Dieu, et l'écriture était l'écriture de Dieu, gravée sur les tables.

17 Now when the noise and the voices of the people came to the ears of Joshua, he said to Moses, There is a noise of war in the tents.

18 And Moses said, It is not the voice of men who are overcoming in the fight, or the cry of those who have been overcome; it is the sound of songs which comes to my ear.
18 Moïse répondit: Ce n'est ni un cri de vainqueurs, ni un cri de vaincus; ce que j'entends, c'est la voix de gens qui chantent.

18 Y él respondió: No es eco de algazara de fuertes, ni eco de alaridos de flacos: algazara de cantar oigo yo.
18 Er antwortete: Es ist nicht ein Geschrei gegeneinander derer, die obliegen und unterliegen, sondern ich höre ein Geschrei eines Singetanzes.
19 And when he came near the tents he saw the image of the ox, and the people dancing; and in his wrath Moses let the stones go from his hands, and they were broken at the foot of the mountain.
19 Et, comme il approchait du camp, il vit le veau et les danses. La colère de Moïse s'enflamma; il jeta de ses mains les tables, et les brisa au pied de la montagne.

19 Als er aber nahe zum Lager kam und das Kalb und den Reigen sah, ergrimmte er mit Zorn und warf die Tafeln aus seiner Hand und zerbrach sie unten am Berge
20 And he took the ox which they had made, burning it in the fire and crushing it to powder, and he put it in the water and made the children of Israel take a drink of it.
20 Il prit le veau qu'ils avaient fait, et le brûla au feu; il le réduisit en poudre, répandit cette poudre à la surface de l'eau, et fit boire les enfants d'Israël.

20 Y tomó el becerro que habían hecho, y quemólo en el fuego, y moliólo hasta reducirlo á polvo, que esparció sobre las aguas, y diólo á beber á los hijos de Israel.
20 und nahm das Kalb, das sie gemacht hatten, und zerschmelzte es mit Feuer und zermalmte es zu Pulver und stäubte es aufs Wasser und gab's den Kindern Israel zu trinken
21 And Moses said to Aaron, What did the people do to you that you let this great sin come on them?
21 Moïse dit à Aaron: Que t'a fait ce peuple, pour que tu l'aies laissé commettre un si grand péché?

24 Then I said to them, Whoever has any gold, let him take it off; so they gave it to me, and I put it in the fire, and this image of an ox came out.
24 Je leur ai dit: Que ceux qui ont de l'or, s'en dépouillent! Et ils me l'ont donné; je l'ai jeté au feu, et il en est sorti ce veau.

24 Y yo les respondí: ¿Quién tiene oro? Apartadlo. Y diéronmelo, y echélo en el fuego, y salió este becerro.
24 Ich sprach zu ihnen: Wer Gold hat, der reiß es ab und gebe es mir. Und ich warf's ins Feuer; daraus ist das Kalb geworden.
25 And Moses saw that the people were out of control, for Aaron had let them loose to their shame before their haters:
25 Moïse vit que le peuple était livré au désordre, et qu'Aaron l'avait laissé dans ce désordre, exposé à l'opprobre parmi ses ennemis.

25 Y viendo Moisés que el pueblo estaba despojado, porque Aarón lo había despojado para vergüenza entre sus enemigos,
25 Da nun Mose sah, daß das Volk zuchtlos geworden war (denn Aaron hatte sie zuchtlos gemacht, zum Geschwätz bei ihren Widersachern),
26 Then Moses took his place at the way into the tents, and said, Whoever is on the Lord's side, let him come to me. And all the sons of Levi came together to him.
26 Moïse se plaça à la porte du camp, et dit: A moi ceux qui sont pour l'Éternel! Et tous les enfants de Lévi s'assemblèrent auprès de lui.

27 And he said to them, This is the word of the Lord, the God of Israel: Let every man take his sword at his side, and go from one end of the tents to the other, putting to death his brother and his friend and his neighbour.
27 Il leur dit: Ainsi parle l'Éternel, le Dieu d'Israël: Que chacun de vous mette son épée au côté; traversez et parcourez le camp d'une porte à l'autre, et que chacun tue son frère, son parent.
27 Agus dúirt sé leo: “Seo mar a deir an Tiarna, Dia Iosrael: ‘Gabhadh gach fear díbh a chlaíomh lena ais, agus téadh sé sall agus anall ó gheata go geata ar fud an champa; agus maraíodh fear a dheartháir, fear eile a chomrádaí, fear eile a chomharsa.’ ”
27 Y él les dijo: Así ha dicho Jehová, el Dios de Israel: Poned cada uno su espada sobre su muslo: pasad y volved de puerta á puerta por el campo, y matad cada uno á su hermano, y á su amigo, y á su pariente.
27 Und er sprach zu ihnen: So spricht der HERR, der Gott Israels: Gürte ein jeglicher sein Schwert um seine Lenden und durchgehet hin und zurück von einem Tor zum andern das Lager, und erwürge ein jeglicher seinen Bruder, Freund und Nächsten.
28 And the sons of Levi did as Moses said; and about three thousand of the people were put to death that day.
28 Les enfants de Lévi firent ce qu'ordonnait Moïse; et environ trois mille hommes parmi le peuple périrent en cette journée.

29 And Moses said, You have made yourselves priests to the Lord this day; for every one of you has made the offering of his son and his brother; the blessing of the Lord is on you this day.
29 Moïse dit: Consacrez-vous aujourd'hui à l'Éternel, même en sacrifiant votre fils et votre frère, afin qu'il vous accorde aujourd'hui une bénédiction.

29 Entonces Moisés dijo: Hoy os habéis consagrado á Jehová, porque cada uno se ha consagrado en su hijo, y en su hermano, para que dé él hoy bendición sobre vosotros.
29 Da sprach Mose: Füllet heute eure Hände dem HERRN, ein jeglicher an seinem Sohn und Bruder, daß heute über euch der Segen gegeben werde.
30 And on the day after, Moses said to the people, Great has been your sin: but I will go up to the Lord, and see if I may get forgiveness for your sin.
30 Le lendemain, Moïse dit au peuple: Vous avez commis un grand péché. Je vais maintenant monter vers l'Éternel: j'obtiendrai peut-être le pardon de votre péché.
30 Lá ar na mhárach dúirt Maois leis an bpobal: “Rinne sibh peaca trom; ach rachaidh mise suas anois chun an Tiarna: b'fhéidir go n‑éireodh liom leorghníomh a dhéanamh in bhur bpeaca.”
30 Y aconteció que el día siguiente dijo Moisés al pueblo: Vosotros habéis cometido un gran pecado: mas yo subiré ahora á Jehová; quizá le aplacaré acerca de vuestro pecado.
30 Des Morgens sprach Mose zum Volk: Ihr habt eine große Sünde getan; nun will ich hinaufsteigen zu dem HERRN, ob ich vielleicht eure Sünde versöhnen möge.
31 Then Moses went back to the Lord and said, This people has done a great sin, making themselves a god of gold;
31 Moïse retourna vers l'Éternel et dit: Ah! ce peuple a commis un grand péché. Ils se sont fait un dieu d'or.

31 Entonces volvió Moisés á Jehová, y dijo: Ruégote, pues este pueblo ha cometido un gran pecado, porque se hicieron dioses de oro,
31 Als nun Mose wieder zum HERRN kam, sprach er: Ach, das Volk hat eine große Sünde getan, und sie haben sich goldene Götter gemacht.
32 But now, if you will give them forgiveness--but if not, let my name be taken out of your book.
32 Pardonne maintenant leur péché! Sinon, efface-moi de ton livre que tu as écrit.
32 Ach anois dá mba áil leat an peaca seo dá gcuid a mhaitheamh...! Ach mura ndéanann tú, ansin, impím ort, scrios mise as an leabhar atá scríofa agat.”
32 Que perdones ahora su pecado, y si no, ráeme ahora de tu libro que has escrito.
32 Nun vergib ihnen ihre Sünde; wo nicht, so tilge mich auch aus deinem Buch, das du geschrieben hast.
33 And the Lord said to Moses, Whoever has done evil against me will be taken out of my book.
33 L'Éternel dit à Moïse: C'est celui qui a péché contre moi que j'effacerai de mon livre.
33 Ach d'fhreagair an Tiarna Maois: “An té a pheacaigh i m'aghaidh is ea a scriosfaidh mé as mo leabhar.
33 Y Jehová respondió á Moisés: Al que pecare contra mí, á éste raeré yo de mi libro.
33 Der HERR sprach zu Mose: Was? Ich will den aus meinem Buch tilgen, der an mir sündigt.
34 But now, go, take the people into that place of which I have given you word; see, my angel will go before you: but when the time of my judging has come, I will send punishment on them for their sin.
34 Va donc, conduis le peuple où je t'ai dit. Voici, mon ange marchera devant toi, mais au jour de ma vengeance, je les punirai de leur péché.
34 Imigh anois, agus treoraigh an pobal chun na háite a dúirt mé leat; féach! rachaidh m'aingeal romhat amach; ach ar lá an fhiosraithe agam, déanfaidh mé a bpeaca a dhíolt orthu.”
34 Ve pues ahora, lleva á este pueblo donde te he dicho: he aquí mi ángel irá delante de ti; que en el día de mi visitación yo visitaré en ellos su pecado.
34 So gehe nun hin und führe das Volk, dahin ich dir gesagt habe. Siehe, mein Engel soll vor dir her gehen. Ich werde ihre Sünde wohl heimsuchen, wenn meine Zeit kommt heimzusuchen.
35 And the Lord sent punishment on the people because they gave worship to the ox which Aaron made.
35 L'Éternel frappa le peuple, parce qu'il avait fait le veau, fabriqué par Aaron.
35 Agus sheol an Tiarna plá ar an bpobal de bharr an lao, a rinne Árón, a dhéanamh.
35 Y Jehová hirió al pueblo, porque habían hecho el becerro que formó Aarón.
35 Also strafte der HERR das Volk, daß sie das Kalb hatten gemacht, welches Aaron gemacht hatte.
