1 Now news came to Jethro, the priest of Midian, Moses' father-in-law, of all God had done for Moses and for Israel his people, and how the Lord had taken Israel out of Egypt.
1 Jéthro, sacrificateur de Madian, beau-père de Moïse, apprit tout ce que Dieu avait fait en faveur de Moïse et d'Israël, son peuple; il apprit que l'Éternel avait fait sortir Israël d'Égypte.
1 Chuala Iatró, sagart Mhidián, a raibh déanta ag Dia do Mhaois agus d'Iosrael a phobal agus conas mar a thug an Tiarna Iosrael amach as an Éigipt.
1 Y Oyo Jethro, sacerdote de Madián, suegro de Moisés, todas las cosas que Dios había hecho con Moisés, y con Israel su pueblo, y cómo Jehová había sacado á Israel de Egipto:
1 Und da Jethro, der Priester in Midian, Mose's Schwiegervater, hörte alles, was Gott getan hatte mit Mose und seinem Volk Israel, daß der HERR Israel hätte aus Ägypten geführt,
2 And Jethro, Moses' father-in-law, took Zipporah, Moses' wife, after he had sent her away,
2 Jéthro, beau-père de Moïse, prit Séphora, femme de Moïse, qui avait été renvoyée.
2 Tar éis í a bheith curtha chun siúil, thóg Iatró athair céile Mhaois, Zipiorá bean Mhaois
2 Y tomó Jethro, suegro de Moisés á Séphora la mujer de Moisés, después que él la envió,
2 nahm er Zippora, Mose's Weib, die er hatte zurückgesandt,
3 And her two sons, one of whom was named Gershom, for he said, I have been living in a strange land:
3 Il prit aussi les deux fils de Séphora; l'un se nommait Guerschom, car Moïse avait dit: J'habite un pays étranger;
3 agus a beirt mhac. Bhí Géirsiom ar dhuine acu mar go ndúirt sé: “Is deoraí mé i dtír iasachta”;
3 Y á sus dos hijos; el uno se llamaba Gersóm, porque dijo: Peregrino he sido en tierra ajena;
3 samt ihren zwei Söhnen, deren einer hieß Gerson (denn er sprach: Ich bin ein Gast geworden in fremdem Lande)
4 And the name of the other was Eliezer, for he said, The God of my father was my help, and kept me safe from the sword of Pharaoh:
4 l'autre se nommait Éliézer, car il avait dit: Le Dieu de mon père m'a secouru, et il m'a délivré de l'épée de Pharaon.
4 agus bhí Eilíeizir [“Dia Mo Chabhair”] mar ainm ar an bhfear eile mar go ndúirt sé: “Dia m'athar mo chabhair mar d'fhuascail sé mé ó chlaíomh Fhorainn.”
4 Y el otro se llamaba Eliezer, porque dijo, El Dios de mi padre me ayudó, y me libró del cuchillo de Faraón.
4 und der andere Elieser (denn er sprach: Der Gott meines Vaters ist meine Hilfe gewesen und hat mich errettet von dem Schwert Pharaos).
5 And Jethro, Moses' father-in-law, came with his sons and his wife to where Moses had put up his tent in the waste land, by the mountain of God.
5 Jéthro, beau-père de Moïse, avec les fils et la femme de Moïse, vint au désert où il campait, à la montagne de Dieu.
5 Agus tháinig Iatró, athair céile Mhaois, chun Maois lena bheirt mhac agus lena bhean mar a raibh a champa aige san fhásach ag sliabh Dé.
5 Y Jethro el suegro de Moisés, con sus hijos y su mujer, llegó á Moisés en el desierto, donde tenía el campo junto al monte de Dios;
5 Da nun Jethro, Mose's Schwiegervater, und seine Söhne und sein Weib zu ihm kamen in die Wüste, an den Berg Gottes, da er sich gelagert hatte,
6 And he said to Moses, I, your father-in-law, have come to you, with your wife and your two sons.
6 Il fit dire à Moïse: Moi, ton beau-père Jéthro, je viens vers toi, avec ta femme et ses deux fils.
6 “Seo chugat athair do chéile, Iatró, agus do bhean agus do bheirt mhac ina teannta,” a dúradh le Maois.
6 Y dijo á Moisés: Yo tu suegro Jethro vengo á ti, con tu mujer, y sus dos hijos con ella.
6 ließ er Mose sagen: Ich, Jethro, dein Schwiegervater, bin zu dir gekommen und dein Weib und ihre beiden Söhne mit ihr.
7 And Moses went out to his father-in-law, and went down on his face before him and gave him a kiss; and they said to one another, Are you well? and they came into the tent.
7 Moïse sortit au-devant de son beau-père, il se prosterna, et il le baisa. Ils s'informèrent réciproquement de leur santé, et ils entrèrent dans la tente de Moïse.
7 Amach le Maois in airicis athair a chéile agus shléacht sé dó agus phóg é; tar éis dóibh tuairisc sláinte a chéile a chur, chuadar isteach sa bhoth.
7 Y Moisés salió á recibir á su suegro, é inclinóse, y besólo: y preguntáronse el uno al otro cómo estaban, y vinieron á la tienda.
7 Da ging Mose hinaus ihm entgegen und neigte sich vor ihm und küßte ihn. Und da sie sich untereinander gegrüßt hatten, gingen sie in die Hütte.
8 And Moses gave his father-in-law an account of all the Lord had done to Pharaoh and to the Egyptians because of Israel, and of all the troubles which had come on them by the way, and how the Lord had given them salvation.
8 Moïse raconta à son beau-père tout ce que l'Éternel avait fait à Pharaon et à l'Égypte à cause d'Israël, toutes les souffrances qui leur étaient survenues en chemin, et comment l'Éternel les avait délivrés.
8 Ansin d'eachtraigh Maois d'athair a chéile a ndearna an Tiarna le Forann agus leis na hÉigiptigh mar mhaithe le clann Iosrael, agus a dtainig de chruatan orthu ar an mbealach agus conas a d'fhuascail an Tiarna iad.
8 Y Moisés contó á su suegro todas las cosas que Jehová había hecho á Faraón y á los Egipcios por amor de Israel, y todo el trabajo que habían pasado en el camino, y cómo los había librado Jehová.
8 Da erzählte Mose seinem Schwiegervater alles, was der HERR dem Pharao und den Ägyptern getan hatte Israels halben, und alle die Mühsal, die ihnen auf den Wege begegnet war, und daß sie der HERR errettet hätte.
9 And Jethro was glad because the Lord had been good to Israel, freeing them from the power of the Egyptians.
9 Jéthro se réjouit de tout le bien que l'Éternel avait fait à Israël, et de ce qu'il l'avait délivré de la main des Égyptiens.
9 Tháinig áthas croí ar Iatró de bharr a ndearna an Tiarna de mhaith d'Iosrael á bhfuascailt ó lámha na nÉigipteach.
9 Y alegróse Jethro de todo el bien que Jehová había hecho á Israel, que lo había librado de mano de los Egipcios.
9 Jethro aber freute sich all des Guten, das der HERR Israel getan hatte, daß er sie errettet hatte von der Ägypter Hand.
10 And Jethro said, Praise be to the Lord, who has taken you out of the hand of Pharaoh and out of the hand of the Egyptians; freeing the people from the yoke of the Egyptians.
10 Et Jéthro dit: Béni soit l'Éternel, qui vous a délivrés de la main des Égyptiens et de la main de Pharaon; qui a délivré le peuple de la main des Égyptiens!
10 “Go mbeannaítear an Tiarna,” arsa Iatró ansin, “mar gur fhuascail sé sibh ó lámha na nÉigipteach, agus ó lámha Fhorainn.
10 Y Jethro dijo: Bendito sea Jehová, que os libró de mano de los Egipcios, y de la mano de Faraón, y que libró al pueblo de la mano de los Egipcios.
10 Und Jethro sprach: Gelobt sei der HERR, der euch errettet hat von der Ägypter und Pharaos Hand, der weiß sein Volk von der Ägypter Hand zu erretten.
11 Now I am certain that the Lord is greater than all gods, for he has overcome them in their pride.
11 Je reconnais maintenant que l'Éternel est plus grand que tous les dieux; car la méchanceté des Égyptiens est retombée sur eux.
11 Anois is ea atá a fhios agam gur mó an Tiarna ná na déithe go léir, mar gur fhuascail sé an pobal ó lámha na nÉigipteach nuair a bhíodar go huaibhreach leo.”
11 Ahora conozco que Jehová es grande más que todos los dioses; hasta en lo que se ensoberbecieron contra ellos.
11 Nun weiß ich, daß der HERR größer ist denn alle Götter, darum daß sie Hochmut an ihnen geübt haben.
12 Then Jethro, Moses' father-in-law, made a burned offering to God: and Aaron came, with the chiefs of Israel, and had a meal with Moses' father-in-law, before God.
12 Jéthro, beau-père de Moïse, offrit à Dieu un holocauste et des sacrifices. Aaron et tous les anciens d'Israël vinrent participer au repas avec le beau-père de Moïse, en présence de Dieu.
12 Ansin d'ofráil Iatró athair céile Mhaois íobairt loiscthe agus ofrálacha do Dhia agus tháinig Árón agus seanóirí Iosrael go léir chun an béile a chaitheamh i gcuideachta athair céile Mhaois os comhair Dé. Breithiúna
12 Y tomó Jethro, suegro de Moisés, holocaustos y sacrificios para Dios: y vino Aarón y todos los ancianos de Israel á comer pan con el suegro de Moisés delante de Dios.
12 Und Jethro, Mose's Schwiegervater, brachte Gott ein Brandopfer mit Dankopfern. Da kamen Aaron und alle Ältesten in Israel, mit Mose's Schwiegervater das Brot zu essen vor Gott.
13 Now on the day after, Moses took his seat to give decisions for the people: and the people were waiting before Moses from morning till evening.
13 Le lendemain, Moïse s'assit pour juger le peuple, et le peuple se tint devant lui depuis le matin jusqu'au soir.
13 Lá arna mhárach shuigh Maois i mbun bhreithiúnas an phobail agus bhí an pobal ina seasamh ina thimpeall ó mhaidin go tráthnóna.
13 Y aconteció que otro día se sentó Moisés á juzgar al pueblo; y el pueblo estuvo delante de Moisés desde la mañana hasta la tarde.
13 Des andern Morgens setzte sich Mose, das Volk zu richten; und das Volk stand um Mose her von Morgen an bis zu Abend.
14 And when Moses' father-in-law saw all he was doing, he said, What is this you are doing for the people? why are you seated here by yourself, with all the people waiting before you from morning till evening?
14 Le beau-père de Moïse vit tout ce qu'il faisait pour le peuple, et il dit: Que fais-tu là avec ce peuple? Pourquoi sièges-tu seul, et tout le peuple se tient-il devant toi, depuis le matin jusqu'au soir?
14 Nuair a chonaic athair a chéile a raibh aige á dhéanamh don phobal dúirt sé: “Cad chuige an t‑ualach seo go léir a ghabháil ort féin ar son an phobail? Cad a b'áil leat i do shuí leat féin agus an pobal ina seasamh i do thimpeall ó mhaidin go tráthnóna?”
14 Y viendo el suegro de Moisés todo lo que él hacía con el pueblo, dijo: ¿Qué es esto que haces tú con el pueblo? ¿por qué te sientas tú solo, y todo el pueblo está delante de ti desde la mañana hasta la tarde?
14 Da aber sein Schwiegervater sah alles, was er dem Volke tat, sprach er: Was ist's, das du tust mit dem Volk? Warum sitzt du allein, und alles Volk steht um dich her von Morgen an bis zu Abend?
15 And Moses said to his father-in-law, Because the people come to me to get directions from God:
15 Moïse répondit à son beau-père: C'est que le peuple vient à moi pour consulter Dieu.
15 Thug Maois freagra ar athair a chéile: “Mar go dtagann an pobal chugam chun a gcásanna a chur faoi bhráid Dé.
15 Y Moisés respondió á su suegro: Porque el pueblo viene á mí para consultar á Dios:
15 Mose antwortete ihm: Das Volk kommt zu mir, Gott um Rat zu fragen.
16 And if they have any question between themselves, they come to me, and I am judge between a man and his neighbour, and I give them the orders and laws of God.
16 Quand ils ont quelque affaire, ils viennent à moi; je prononce entre eux, et je fais connaître les ordonnances de Dieu et ses lois.
16 Nuair a bhíonn aighneas eatarthu, tagann siad chugamsa agus réitímse na heasaontais idir duine agus a chomharsa agus tugaim teagasc dóibh i dtaobh reachtanna Dé agus a bhreithiúnais.”
16 Cuando tienen negocios, vienen á mí; y yo juzgo entre el uno y el otro, y declaro las ordenanzas de Dios y sus leyes.
16 Denn wo sie was zu schaffen haben, kommen sie zu mir, daß ich richte zwischen einem jeglichen und seinem Nächsten und zeige ihnen Gottes Rechte und seine Gesetze.
17 And Moses' father-in-law said to him, What you are doing is not good.
17 Le beau-père de Moïse lui dit: Ce que tu fais n'est pas bien.
17 “Ní cóir duit,” arsa athair chéile Mhaois leis, “an t‑ualach seo a chur ort féin.
17 Entonces el suegro de Moisés le dijo: No haces bien:
17 Sein Schwiegervater sprach zu ihm: Es ist nicht gut, was du tust.
18 Your strength and that of the people will be completely used up: this work is more than you are able to do by yourself.
18 Tu t'épuiseras toi-même, et tu épuiseras ce peuple qui est avec toi; car la chose est au-dessus de tes forces, tu ne pourras pas y suffire seul.
18 Déanfar thú féin agus do phobal mar aon leat a thraochadh. Tá an obair róthrom duit; ní féidir duit é a dhéanamh leat féin.
18 Desfallecerás del todo, tú, y también este pueblo que está contigo; porque el negocio es demasiado pesado para ti; no podrás hacerlo tú solo.
18 Du machst dich zu müde, dazu das Volk auch, das mit dir ist. Das Geschäft ist dir zu schwer; du kannst's allein nicht ausrichten.
19 Give ear now to my suggestion, and may God be with you: you are to be the people's representative before God, taking their causes to him:
19 Maintenant écoute ma voix; je vais te donner un conseil, et que Dieu soit avec toi! Sois l'interprète du peuple auprès de Dieu, et porte les affaires devant Dieu.
19 Déan rud orm; cuirfidh mé comhairle ort agus beidh Dia leat. Ní foláir duit seasamh i láthair Dé agus a gcúiseanna a chur faoi bhráid Dé.
19 Oye ahora mi voz; yo te aconsejaré, y Dios será contigo. Está tú por el pueblo delante de Dios, y somete tú los negocios á Dios.
19 Aber gehorche meiner Stimme; ich will dir raten, und Gott wird mit dir sein. Pflege du des Volks vor Gott und bringe die Geschäfte vor Gott
20 Teaching them his rules and his laws, guiding them in the way they have to go, and making clear to them the work they have to do.
20 Enseigne-leur les ordonnances et les lois; et fais-leur connaître le chemin qu'ils doivent suivre, et ce qu'ils doivent faire.
20 Múin dóibh na reachtanna agus na socruithe, agus taispeáin dóibh an cosán atá le siúl acu agus na hoibreacha atá le déanamh acu.
20 Y enseña á ellos las ordenanzas y las leyes, y muéstrales el camino por donde anden, y lo que han de hacer.
20 und stelle ihnen Rechte und Gesetze, daß du sie lehrst den Weg, darin sie wandeln, und die Werke, die sie tun sollen.
21 But for the rest, take from among the people able men, such as have the fear of God, true men hating profits wrongly made; and put such men over them, to be captains of thousands, captains of hundreds and of fifties and of tens;
21 Choisis parmi tout le peuple des hommes capables, craignant Dieu, des hommes intègres, ennemis de la cupidité; établis-les sur eux comme chefs de mille, chefs de cent, chefs de cinquante et chefs de dix.
21 Ach togh as an bpobal i gcoitinne fir a bhfuil cumas iontu agus eagla Dé orthu, fir chreidiúnacha dhobhreabtha; agus ceap iad seo ina gceannairí ar an bpobal i bhfeighil mílte agus céadta agus leathchéadta agus deichniúr.
21 Además inquiere tú de entre todo el pueblo varones de virtud, temerosos de Dios, varones de verdad, que aborrezcan la avaricia; y constituirás á éstos sobre ellos caporales sobre mil, sobre ciento, sobre cincuenta y sobre diez.
21 Siehe dich aber um unter allem Volk nach redlichen Leuten, die Gott fürchten, wahrhaftig und dem Geiz feind sind; die setze über sie, etliche über tausend, über hundert, über fünfzig und über zehn,
22 And let them be judges in the causes of the people at all times: and let them put before you all important questions, but in small things let them give decisions themselves: in this way, it will be less hard for you, and they will take the weight off you.
22 Qu'ils jugent le peuple en tout temps; qu'ils portent devant toi toutes les affaires importantes, et qu'ils prononcent eux-mêmes sur les petites causes. Allège ta charge, et qu'ils la portent avec toi.
22 Bídís- sean i mbun breithiúnais don phobal i gcónaí. Cuiridís gach fadhb mhór faoi do bhráidse, ach breithnídís féin na mioncheasta, rud a fhágfaidh an scéal níos saoraidí agatsa mar go roinnfear an t‑ualach leat.
22 Los cuales juzgarán al pueblo en todo tiempo; y será que todo negocio grave lo traerán á ti, y ellos juzgarán todo negocio pequeño: alivia así la carga de sobre ti, y llevarla han ellos contigo.
22 daß sie das Volk allezeit richten; wo aber eine große Sache ist, daß sie dieselbe an dich bringen, und sie alle geringen Sachen richten. So wird dir's leichter werden, und sie werden mit dir tragen.
23 If you do this, and God gives approval, then you will be able to go on without weariness, and all this people will go to their tents in peace.
23 Si tu fais cela, et que Dieu te donne des ordres, tu pourras y suffire, et tout ce peuple parviendra heureusement à sa destination.
23 Má dhéanann tú amhlaidh agus go n‑ordaíonn Dia amhlaidh duit, féadfaidh tú cur suas le d'ualach, agus rachaidh na daoine seo go léir abhaile faoi shíocháin.”
23 Si esto hicieres, y Dios te lo mandare, tú podrás persistir, y todo este pueblo se irá también en paz á su lugar.
23 Wirst du das tun, so kannst du ausrichten, was Gott dir gebietet, und all dies Volk kann mit Frieden an seinen Ort kommen.
24 So Moses took note of the words of his father-in-law, and did as he had said.
24 Moïse écouta la voix de son beau-père, et fit tout ce qu'il avait dit.
24 Thug Maois aird ar chomhairle athair a chéile agus rinne sé rud air.
24 Y oyó Moisés la voz de su suegro, é hizo todo lo que dijo.
24 Mose gehorchte seines Schwiegervaters Wort und tat alles, was er sagte,
25 And he made selection of able men out of all Israel, and made them heads over the people, captains of thousands, captains of hundreds and of fifties and of tens.
25 Moïse choisit des hommes capables parmi tout Israël, et il les établit chefs du peuple, chefs de mille, chefs de cent, chefs de cinquante et chefs de dix.
25 Thogh Maois daoine cumasacha as Iosrael ar fad agus chuir i bhfeighil an phobail iad, ina gceannairí mílte, agus céadta, agus leathchéadta agus deichniúr.
25 Y escogió Moisés varones de virtud de todo Israel, y púsolos por cabezas sobre el pueblo, caporales sobre mil, sobre ciento, sobre cincuenta, y sobre diez.
25 und erwählte redliche Leute aus ganz Israel und machte sie zu Häuptern über das Volk, etliche über tausend, über hundert, über fünfzig und über zehn,
26 And they were judges in the causes of the people at all times: the hard questions they put before Moses; but on every small point they gave decisions themselves.
26 Ils jugeaient le peuple en tout temps; ils portaient devant Moïse les affaires difficiles, et ils prononçaient eux-mêmes sur toutes les petites causes.
26 Bhídís i mbun breithiúnais don phobal i gcónaí. Chuiridís na mórcheasta faoi bhráid Mhaois, ach réitídís féin na mioncheasta.
26 Y juzgaban al pueblo en todo tiempo: el negocio árduo traíanlo á Moisés, y ellos juzgaban todo negocio pequeño.
26 daß sie das Volk allezeit richteten; was aber schwere Sachen wären, zu Mose brächten, und die kleinen Sachen selber richteten.
27 And Moses let his father-in-law go away, and he went back to his land.
27 Moïse laissa partir son beau-père, et Jéthro s'en alla dans son pays.
27 Ansin lig Maois dá athair céile imeacht, agus d'imigh seisean leis chun a dhúiche féin.
27 Y despidió Moisés á su suegro, y fuése á su tierra.
27 Also ließ Mose seinen Schwiegervater in sein Land ziehen.
