1 Then came a time of great need in the land, like that which had been before in the days of Abraham. And Isaac went to Abimelech, king of the Philistines, at Gerar.
1 Il y eut une famine dans le pays, outre la première famine qui eut lieu du temps d'Abraham; et Isaac alla vers Abimélec, roi des Philistins, à Guérar.
1 Bhí gorta sa tír - ceann eile seachas é siúd a bhí le linn Abrahám - agus chuaigh Íosác go Gearár, go hAibímeilic rí na bhFilistíneach.
1 Y Hubo hambre en la tierra, además de la primera hambre que fué en los días de Abraham: y fuése Isaac á Abimelech rey de los Filisteos, en Gerar.
1 Es kam aber eine Teuerung ins Land nach der vorigen, so zu Abrahams Zeiten war. Und Isaak zog zu Abimelech, der Philister König, zu Gerar.
2 And the Lord came to him in a vision and said, Do not go down to Egypt; keep in the land of which I will give you knowledge:
2 L'Éternel lui apparut, et dit: Ne descends pas en Égypte, demeure dans le pays que je te dirai.
2 Thaispeáin an Tiarna é féin dó agus dúirt: “Ná téigh síos go dtí an Éigipt ach fan sa tír a inseoidh mé duit.
2 Y apareciósele Jehová, y díjole: No desciendas á Egipto: habita en la tierra que yo te diré;
2 Da erschien ihm der HERR und sprach: Ziehe nicht hinab nach Ägypten, sondern bleibe in dem Lande, das ich dir sage.
3 Keep in this land, and I will be with you and give you my blessing; for to you and to your seed will I give all these lands, giving effect to the oath which I made to your father Abraham;
3 Séjourne dans ce pays-ci: je serai avec toi, et je te bénirai, car je donnerai toutes ces contrées à toi et à ta postérité, et je tiendrai le serment que j'ai fait à Abraham, ton père.
3 Fan go fóill sa tír seo agus beidh mise farat agus cuirfidh mé mo bheannacht ort. Óir is duitse agus do do shliocht a thabharfaidh mé na dúichí seo go léir, agus comhlíonfaidh mé an mionn a thug mé do bhur n‑athair Abrahám.
3 Habita en esta tierra, y seré contigo, y te bendeciré; porque á ti y á tu simiente daré todas estas tierras, y confirmaré el juramento que juré á Abraham tu padre:
3 Sei ein Fremdling in diesem Lande, und ich will mit dir sein und dich segnen; denn dir und deinem Samen will ich alle diese Länder geben und will meinen Eid bestätigen, den ich deinem Vater Abraham geschworen habe,
4 I will make your seed like the stars of heaven in number, and will give them all these lands, and your seed will be a blessing to all the nations of the earth;
4 Je multiplierai ta postérité comme les étoiles du ciel; je donnerai à ta postérité toutes ces contrées; et toutes les nations de la terre seront bénies en ta postérité,
4 Cuirfidh mé an rath ar do shíol mar réaltaí neimhe, agus tabharfaidh mé na dúichí seo go léir do do shliocht; agus is trí do shliochtsa a bheannóidh ciníocha an domhain go léir iad féin.
4 Y multiplicaré tu simiente como las estrellas del cielo, y daré á tu simiente todas estas tierras; y todas las gentes de la tierra serán benditas en tu simiente.
4 und will deinem Samen mehren wie die Sterne am Himmel und will deinem Samen alle diese Länder geben. Und durch deinen Samen sollen alle Völker auf Erden gesegnet werden,
5 Because Abraham gave ear to my voice and kept my words, my rules, my orders, and my laws.
5 parce qu'Abraham a obéi à ma voix, et qu'il a observé mes ordres, mes commandements, mes statuts et mes lois.
5 Óir bhí Abrahám umhal do mo ghlór agus rinne sé mo réir, chomhlíon sé m'aitheanta agus mo reachtanna agus mo dhlíthe.”
5 Por cuanto oyó Abraham mi voz, y guardó mi precepto, mis mandamientos, mis estatutos y mis leyes.
5 darum daß Abraham meiner Stimme gehorsam gewesen ist und hat gehalten meine Rechte, meine Gebote, meine Weise und mein Gesetz.
6 So Isaac went on living in Gerar;
6 Et Isaac resta à Guérar.

6 Habitó, pues, Isaac en Gerar.
6 Also wohnte Isaak zu Gerar.
7 And when he was questioned by the men of the place about his wife, he said, She is my sister; fearing to say, She is my wife; for, he said, the men of the place may put me to death on account of Rebekah; because she is very beautiful.
7 Lorsque les gens du lieu faisaient des questions sur sa femme, il disait: C'est ma soeur; car il craignait, en disant ma femme, que les gens du lieu ne le tuassent, parce que Rebecca était belle de figure.

7 Y los hombres de aquel lugar le preguntaron acerca de su mujer; y él respondió: Es mi hermana; porque tuvo miedo de decir: Es mi mujer; que tal vez, dijo, los hombres del lugar me matarían por causa de Rebeca; porque era de hermoso aspecto.
7 Und wenn die Leute an demselben Ort fragten nach seinem Weibe, so sprach er: Sie ist meine Schwester. Denn er fürchtete sich zu sagen: Sie ist mein Weib; sie möchten mich erwürgen um Rebekkas willen, denn sie war schön von Angesicht.
8 And when he had been there for some time, Abimelech, king of the Philistines, looking through a window, saw Isaac playing with Rebekah his wife.
8 Comme son séjour se prolongeait, il arriva qu'Abimélec, roi des Philistins, regardant par la fenêtre, vit Isaac qui plaisantait avec Rebecca, sa femme.
8 Tharla, agus tamall fada caite aige ann, gur fhéach Aibímeilic, rí na bhFilistíneach, amach trí fhuinneog agus go bhfaca sé Íosác ag láínteacht lena bhean Ribeacá.
8 Y sucedió que, después que él estuvo allí muchos días, Abimelech, rey de los Filisteos, mirando por una ventana, vió á Isaac que jugaba con Rebeca su mujer.
8 Als er nun eine Zeitlang da war, sah Abimelech, der Philister König, durchs Fenster und ward gewahr, daß Isaak scherzte mit seinem Weibe Rebekka.
9 And he said to Isaac, It is clear that she is your wife: why then did you say, She is my sister? And Isaac said, For fear that I might be put to death because of her.
9 Abimélec fit appeler Isaac, et dit: Certainement, c'est ta femme. Comment as-tu pu dire: C'est ma soeur? Isaac lui répondit: J'ai parlé ainsi, de peur de mourir à cause d'elle.
9 Chuir Aibímeilic fios ar Íosác: “Ní foláir nó gurb í do bhean í! Conas mar sin a d'fhéad tú a rá: ‘Is í mo dheirfiúr í’?” “Mar go raibh eagla orm,” arsa Íosác leis, “go marófaí mé ar a son.”
9 Y llamó Abimelech á Isaac, y dijo: He aquí ella es de cierto tu mujer: ¿cómo, pues, dijiste: Es mi hermana? E Isaac le respondió: Porque dije: Quizá moriré por causa de ella.
9 Da rief Abimelech den Isaak und sprach: Siehe, es ist dein Weib. Wie hast du denn gesagt: Sie ist meine Schwester? Isaak antwortete ihm: Ich gedachte, ich möchte vielleicht sterben müssen um ihretwillen.
10 Then Abimelech said, What have you done to us? one of the people might well have had connection with your wife, and the sin would have been ours.
10 Et Abimélec dit: Qu'est-ce que tu nous as fait? Peu s'en est fallu que quelqu'un du peuple n'ait couché avec ta femme, et tu nous aurais rendus coupables.
10 “Céard é seo atá déanta agat linn?” arsa Aibímeilic. “B'fhurasta a tharlú go rachadh duine dár muintir chun luí le do bhean agus ansin bheadh coir tugtha sa mhullach agat orainn.”
10 Y Abimelech dijo: ¿Por qué nos has hecho esto? Por poco hubiera dormido alguno del pueblo con tu mujer, y hubieras traído sobre nosotros el pecado.
10 Abimelech sprach: Warum hast du das getan? Es wäre leicht geschehen, daß jemand vom Volk sich zu deinem Weibe gelegt hätte, und hättest also eine Schuld auf uns gebracht.
11 And Abimelech gave orders to his people that anyone touching Isaac or his wife was to be put to death.
11 Alors Abimélec fit cette ordonnance pour tout le peuple: Celui qui touchera à cet homme ou à sa femme sera mis à mort.
11 Ansin thug Aibímeilic ordú dá mhuintir go léir: “Aon duine a leagfaidh lámh ar an bhfear seo nó ar a bhean, cuirfear chun báis é.”
11 Entonces Abimelech mandó á todo el pueblo, diciendo: El que tocare á este hombre ó á su mujer, de cierto morirá.
11 Da gebot Abimelech allem Volk und sprach: Wer diesen Mann oder sein Weib antastet, der soll des Todes sterben.
12 Now Isaac, planting seed in that land, got in the same year fruit a hundred times as much, for the blessing of the Lord was on him.
12 Isaac sema dans ce pays, et il recueillit cette année le centuple; car l'Éternel le bénit.
12 Chuir Íosác síol sa tír agus bhain sé fómhar faoi chéad an bhliain sin. Chuir an Tiarna a bheannacht airsean,
12 Y sembró Isaac en aquella tierra, y halló aquel año ciento por uno: y bendíjole Jehová.
12 Und Isaak säte in dem Lande und erntete desselben Jahres hundertfältig; denn der HERR segnete ihn.
13 And his wealth became very great, increasing more and more;
13 Cet homme devint riche, et il alla s'enrichissant de plus en plus, jusqu'à ce qu'il devint fort riche.
13 agus rinne fear saibhir de agus mhéadaigh ar a mhaoin i gcónaí go dtí go raibh sé an-ghustalach ar fad.
13 Y el varón se engrandeció, y fué adelantando y engrandeciéndose, hasta hacerse muy poderoso:
13 Und er ward ein großer Mann und nahm immer mehr zu, bis er sehr groß ward,
14 For he had great wealth of flocks and herds and great numbers of servants; so that the Philistines were full of envy.
14 Il avait des troupeaux de menu bétail et des troupeaux de gros bétail, et un grand nombre de serviteurs: aussi les Philistins lui portèrent envie.
14 Bhí táinte agus tréada agus a lán searbhóntaí aige i dtreo go dtáinig formad ar na Filistínigh leis.
14 Y tuvo hato de ovejas, y hato de vacas, y grande apero; y los Filisteos le tuvieron envidia.
14 daß er viel Gut hatte an kleinem und großem Vieh und ein großes Gesinde. Darum beneideten ihn die Philister
15 Now all the water-holes, which his father's servants had made in the days of Abraham, had been stopped up with earth by the Philistines.
15 Tous les puits qu'avaient creusés les serviteurs de son père, du temps d'Abraham, son père, les Philistins les comblèrent et les remplirent de poussière.
15 Na toibreacha fíoruisce go léir a thochail daoir a athar le linn Abrahám a athair, chaith na Filistínigh cré isteach iontu agus dhún iad.
15 Y todos los pozos que habían abierto, los criados de Abraham su padre en sus días, los Filisteos los habían cegado y llenado de tierra.
15 und verstopften alle Brunnen, die seines Vaters Knechte gegraben hatten zur Zeit Abrahams, seines Vaters, und füllten sie mit Erde;
16 And Abimelech said to Isaac, Go away from us, for you are stronger than we are.
16 Et Abimélec dit à Isaac: Va-t-en de chez nous, car tu es beaucoup plus puissant que nous.
16 Agus dúirt Aibímeilic le hÍosác: “Imigh leat uainne, mar is cumhachtaí go mor tú ná sinne.”
16 Y dijo Abimelech á Isaac: Apártate de nosotros, porque mucho más poderoso que nosotros te has hecho.
16 daß auch Abimelech zu ihm sprach: Ziehe von uns, denn du bist uns zu mächtig geworden.
17 So Isaac went away from there, and put up his tents in the valley of Gerar, making his living-place there.
17 Isaac partit de là, et campa dans la vallée de Guérar, où il s'établit.
17 D'fhág Íosác an áit sin agus chuir suas a bhoth i nGleann Ghearár agus chuir faoi ann.
17 E Isaac se fué de allí; y asentó sus tiendas en el valle de Gerar, y habitó allí.
17 Da zog Isaak von dannen und schlug sein Gezelt auf im Grunde Gerar und wohnte allda
18 And he made again the water-holes which had been made in the days of Abraham his father, and which had been stopped up by the Philistines; and he gave them the names which his father had given them.
18 Isaac creusa de nouveau les puits d'eau qu'on avait creusés du temps d'Abraham, son père, et qu'avaient comblés les Philistins après la mort d'Abraham; et il leur donna les mêmes noms que son père leur avait donnés.
18 Agus thochail Íosác arís na toibreacha fíoruisce a rinne daoir a athar Abrahám, ach a dhún na Filistínigh tar éis bhás Abrahám, agus thug sé na hainmneacha céanna orthu agus a thug a athair.
18 Y volvió á abrir Isaac los pozos de agua que habían abierto en los días de Abraham su padre, y que los Filisteos habían cegado, muerto Abraham; y llamólos por los nombres que su padre los había llamado.
18 und ließ die Wasserbrunnen wieder aufgraben, die sie zu Abrahams, seines Vaters, Zeiten gegraben hatten, welche die Philister verstopft hatten nach Abrahams Tod, und nannte sie mit demselben Namen mit denen sie sein Vater genannt hatte.
19 Now Isaac's servants made holes in the valley, and came to a spring of flowing water.
19 Les serviteurs d'Isaac creusèrent encore dans la vallée, et y trouvèrent un puits d'eau vive.
19 Nuair a thochail daoir Íosác sa ghleann agus go bhfuaireadar tobar fíoruisce,
19 Y los siervos de Isaac cavaron en el valle, y hallaron allí un pozo de aguas vivas.
19 Auch gruben Isaaks Knechte im Grunde und fanden daselbst einen Brunnen lebendigen Wassers.
20 But the herdmen of Gerar had a fight with Isaac's herdmen, for they said, The spring is ours: so he gave the spring the name of Esek, because there was a fight about it.
20 Les bergers de Guérar querellèrent les bergers d'Isaac, en disant: L'eau est à nous. Et il donna au puits le nom d'Ések, parce qu'ils s'étaient disputés avec lui.
20 tháinig aoirí Ghearár chun imris le haoirí Íosác á rá: “Linne an t‑uisce.” Thug sé Éisic [Aighneas] dá bhrí sin ar an tobar mar go ndearnadar aighneas leis.
20 Y los pastores de Gerar riñeron con los pastores de Isaac, diciendo: El agua es nuestra: por eso llamó el nombre del pozo Esek, porque habían altercado con él.
20 Aber die Hirten von Gerar zankten mit den Hirten Isaaks und sprachen: Das Wasser ist unser. Da hieß er den Brunnen Esek, darum daß sie ihm unrecht getan hatten.
21 Then they made another water-hole, and there was a fight about that, so he gave it the name of Sitnah.
21 Ses serviteurs creusèrent un autre puits, au sujet duquel on chercha aussi une querelle; et il l'appela Sitna.
21 Ansin thochail siad tobar eile, agus bhí aighneas eatarthu faoi sin leis, agus thug sé Sitneá [Eascairdeas] air.
21 Y abrieron otro pozo, y también riñeron sobre él: y llamó su nombre Sitnah.
21 Da gruben sie einen andern Brunnen. Darüber zankten sie auch, darum hieß er ihn Sitna.
22 Then he went away from there, and made another water-hole, about which there was no fighting: so he gave it the name of Rehoboth, for he said, Now the Lord has made room for us, and we will have fruit in this land.
22 Il se transporta de là, et creusa un autre puits, pour lequel on ne chercha pas querelle; et il l'appela Rehoboth, car, dit-il, l'Éternel nous a maintenant mis au large, et nous prospérerons dans le pays.
22 D'fhág sé an áit sin agus thochail sé tobar eile agus ní raibh aon imreas faoin gceann seo, agus thug sé Rachóbót [Fairsinge] air á rá: “Thug an Tiarna fairsinge dúinn anois agus beidh an rath orainn sa dúiche.”
22 Y apartóse de allí, y abrió otro pozo, y no riñeron sobre él: y llamó su nombre Rehoboth, y dijo: Porque ahora nos ha hecho ensanchar Jehová y fructificaremos en la tierra.
22 Da machte er sich von dannen und grub einen andern Brunnen. Darüber zankten sie sich nicht; darum hieß er ihn Rehoboth und sprach: Nun hat uns der HERR Raum gemacht und uns wachsen lassen im Lande.
23 And from there he went on to Beer-sheba.
23 Il remonta de là à Beer Schéba.
23 Chuaigh sé as sin go Béar Seaba.
23 Y de allí subió á Beer-seba.
23 Darnach zog er von dannen gen Beer-Seba.
24 That night the Lord came to him in a vision, and said, I am the God of your father Abraham: have no fear for I am with you, blessing you, and your seed will be increased because of my servant Abraham.
24 L'Éternel lui apparut dans la nuit, et dit: Je suis le Dieu d'Abraham, ton père; ne crains point, car je suis avec toi; je te bénirai, et je multiplierai ta postérité, à cause d'Abraham, mon serviteur.
24 Thaispeáin an Tiarna é féin dó an oíche sin agus dúirt: “Mise Dia d'athar Abrahám. Ná bíodh eagla ort, óir táimse farat. Beannóidh mé thú agus cuirfidh mé an rath go líonmhar ar do shíol, Ar son mo shearbhónta Abrahám.”
24 Y apareciósele Jehová aquella noche, y dijo: Yo soy el Dios de Abraham tu padre: no temas, que yo soy contigo, y yo te bendeciré, y multiplicaré tu simiente por amor de Abraham mi siervo.
24 Und der HERR erschien ihm in derselben Nacht und sprach: Ich bin deines Vaters Abrahams Gott. Fürchte dich nicht; denn ich bin mit dir und will dich segnen und deinen Samen mehren um meines Knechtes Abraham willen.
25 Then he made an altar there, and gave worship to the name of the Lord, and he put up his tents there, and there his servants made a water-hole.
25 Il bâtit là un autel, invoqua le nom de l'Éternel, et y dressa sa tente. Et les serviteurs d'Isaac y creusèrent un puits.
25 Thóg sé altóir don Tiarna ansiúd agus ghlaoigh ar ainm an Tiarna. Chuir sé suas a bhoth ann agus thochail daoir Íosác tobar ann. Conradh le hAibímeilic
25 Y edificó allí un altar, é invocó el nombre de Jehová, y tendió allí su tienda: y abrieron allí los siervos de Isaac un pozo.
25 Da baute er einen Altar daselbst und predigte von dem Namen des HERRN und richtete daselbst seine Hütte auf, und seine Knechte gruben daselbst einen Brunnen.
26 And Abimelech had come to him from Gerar, with Ahuzzath his friend and Phicol, the captain of his army.
26 Abimélec vint de Guérar auprès de lui, avec Ahuzath, son ami, et Picol, chef de son armée.
26 Agus tháinig Aibímeilic ar a thuairisc ó Ghearár agus Achuzat a chomhairleoir agus Fíocol a thaoiseach airm in éineacht leis.
26 Y Abimelech vino á él desde Gerar, y Ahuzzath, amigo suyo, y Phicol, capitán de su ejército.
26 Und Abimelech ging zu ihm von Gerar, und Ahussat, sein Freund, und Phichol, sein Feldhauptmann.
27 And Isaac said to them, Why have you come to me, seeing that in your hate for me you sent me away from you?
27 Isaac leur dit: Pourquoi venez-vous vers moi, puisque vous me haïssez et que vous m'avez renvoyé de chez vous?
27 Dúirt Íosác leo: “Cad a ba áil libh teacht chugam ós fuath libh mé agus gur chuir sibh chun siúil uaibh mé?”
27 Y díjoles Isaac: ¿Por qué venís á mí, pues que me habéis aborrecido, y me echasteis de entre vosotros?
27 Aber Isaak sprach zu ihnen: Warum kommt ihr zu mir? Haßt ihr mich doch und habt mich von euch getrieben.
28 And they said, We saw clearly that the Lord was with you: so we said, Let there be an oath between us and you, and let us make an agreement with you;
28 Ils répondirent: Nous voyons que l'Éternel est avec toi. C'est pourquoi nous disons: Qu'il y ait un serment entre nous, entre nous et toi, et que nous fassions alliance avec toi!
28 D'fhreagraíodar: “Ba léir dúinn go raibh an Tiarna leat, agus dúramar: Bíodh mionn eadrainn, agus déanaimis conradh le chéile, sinne agus tusa,
28 Y ellos respondieron: Hemos visto que Jehová es contigo; y dijimos: Haya ahora juramento entre nosotros, entre nosotros y ti, y haremos alianza contigo:
28 Sie sprachen: Wir sehen mit sehenden Augen, daß der HERR mit dir ist. Darum sprachen wir: Es soll ein Eid zwischen uns und dir sein, und wir wollen einen Bund mit dir machen,
29 That you will do us no damage, even as we put no hand on you, and did you nothing but good, and sent you away in peace: and now the blessing of the Lord is on you.
29 Jure que tu ne nous feras aucun mal, de même que nous ne t'avons point maltraité, que nous t'avons fait seulement du bien, et que nous t'avons laissé partir en paix. Tu es maintenant béni de l'Éternel.
29 nach ndéanfaidh tusa aon dochar dúinn, faoi mar nach ndearnamarna riamh aon díobháil duit ach bhíomar i gcónaí cineálta leat agus chuireamar chun siúil tú faoi shíocháin. Anois tá beannacht an Tiarna ort.”
29 Que no nos hagas mal, como nosotros no te hemos tocado, y como solamente te hemos hecho bien, y te enviamos en paz: tú ahora, bendito de Jehová.
29 daß du uns keinen Schaden tust, gleichwie wir dir nichts denn alles Gute getan haben und dich mit Frieden haben ziehen lassen. Du aber bist nun der Gesegnete des HERRN.
30 Then he made a feast for them, and they all had food and drink.
30 Isaac leur fit un festin, et ils mangèrent et burent.
30 Rinne sé fleá dóibh ansin agus chaitheadar bia agus deoch.
30 Entonces él les hizo banquete, y comieron y bebieron.
30 Da machte er ihnen ein Mahl, und sie aßen und tranken.
31 And early in the morning they took an oath one to the other: then Isaac sent them away and they went on their way in peace.
31 Ils se levèrent de bon matin, et se lièrent l'un à l'autre par un serment. Isaac les laissa partir, et ils le quittèrent en paix.

31 Y se levantaron de madrugada, y juraron el uno al otro; é Isaac los despidió, y ellos se partieron de él en paz.
31 Und des Morgens früh standen sie auf und schwur einer dem andern; und Isaak ließ sie gehen, und sie zogen von ihm mit Frieden.
32 And that day Isaac's servants came to him and gave him word of the water-hole which they had made, and said to him, We have come to water.
32 Ce même jour, des serviteurs d'Isaac vinrent lui parler du puits qu'ils creusaient, et lui dirent: Nous avons trouvé de l'eau.
32 An lá ceannann céanna tháinig daoir Íosác chuige le scéala an tobair a thochail siad. “Thángamar ar uisce,” ar siad.
32 Y en aquel día sucedió que vinieron los criados de Isaac, y diéronle nuevas acerca del pozo que habían abierto, y le dijeron: Agua hemos hallado.
32 Desselben Tages aber kamen Isaaks Knechte und sagten ihm an von dem Brunnen, den sie gegraben hatten, und sprachen zu ihm: Wir haben Wasser gefunden.
33 And he gave it the name of Shibah: so the name of that town is Beer-sheba to this day.
33 Et il l'appela Schiba. C'est pourquoi on a donné à la ville le nom de Beer Schéba, jusqu'à ce jour.
33 Thug sé Sibeá [Mionn] ar an tobar dá bhrí sin agus tá Béar Seaba ar an gcathair go dtí an lá atá inniu ann. Mná Éasau
33 Y llamólo Seba: por cuya causa el nombre de aquella ciudad es Beer-seba hasta este día.
33 Und er nannte ihn Seba; daher heißt die Stadt Beer-Seba bis auf den heutigen Tag.
34 And when Esau was forty years old, he took as his wives Judith, the daughter of Beeri the Hittite, and Basemath, the daughter of Elon the Hittite:
